"Cleaver - 12 for Cause a Scene, roll again for Poison Ivy w/Crownglass"
Crownglass's sickness when he returned to the clan had left his fur patchy from scratching at it, but finally, the ebony tom was beginning to recover. He was returning home from a normal, successful hunt when he reached the camp and stopped to itch at one of the bare patches on his skin again. He dropped the prey to scratch harder, furiously fighting to cure that itch, until his claws split his rough skin and he started to bleed.
The warrior hissed. He stopped itching but the burning sensation remained, so he limped his way to the medicine cat's den and yelled into it:
Amberbird cringed at the sound of his brother-in-law. Just what did the tom want now? Was one of the kits coughing? Sneezing? Heaven forbid that happened. Though it was usually Seablossom bringing them in when it was something like that. A little curious now, he called back to the older tom, "in here!"
"Amberbird, I need your help," he told him instantly as he stumbled into the den. "This is a little embarrassing to come to bother you for, but I'm really, really, itchy." He was scratching as he spoke, but stopped just long to show the tom the red and bloody patches on his skin.
"What'd you do? Roll in it?!" Amberbird could easily recognize the signs of poison ivy, especially on the tom missing fur. Really the tom was as bad as Seablossom with coming to bother him at this point. Though it wasn't really his fault since Crownglass was actually injured instead of one of the kits.
Darlingpaw had come to the medicine cats den earlier to have a cut on her pad treated and now sat stone faced towards the back, looking up slightly as Crownglass entered to ask Amberbird for help. As her blue eyes scanned the warriors coat and spotted the hairless sections she couldn't help but laugh, he looked ridiculous. "Thats a nice look on you Crownglass." She teased harshly, not caring a bit that he was her superior.
Amberbird wasn't the most confident cat but he felt more confident around family who knew him best. Once a new cat entered the den though, he became a mess. But this time, he'd practically forgotten that the other cat was here and so he jumped nearly out of his skin at the sound of her voice. The tom cowarded under the voice as he selected herbs from his pile. Amberbird refused to look up and meet either's eyes, instead focusing on the plants before him.
"Roll in it?" Crownglass echoed, confused. "Roll in what?" There was no poison ivy in SummerClan; he had no idea he should have been keeping an eye out for it. He looked back at Darlingpaw, his ears twitching back as hurt filled his golden eyes. "Thanks, Darlingpaw," he told her nicely as if it was a real compliment.
(oh this will make it more fun when he's her mentor later cx)
Did the warrior really not know was was giving him so much trouble? Darlingpaw looked at him in utter disbelief, checking to make sure it wasn't some joke he was playing on Amberbird but the confusion written on his face was pure. Her mouth dropped but she quickly closed it when he looked her way and thanked her. "I'd say you're welcome but I don't think it will help you much." She wouldn't say it even if it could have cured him though.
Her blue eyes lit up after a moment and she shot her gaze to Crownglass in horror. "What if you rolled in some flesh eating parasites and now they are crawling under your skin?!" Keeping up her act she jumped to her paws and pushed herself further away from the tom to make it more believable.
"I don't think I did that," he told her, but his voice was rich with uncertainty. He backed up a few paces as well and craned his neck, looking through his coat for signs that there was some parasite clinging to his coat. Crownglass was itchy, but he didn't think anything was eating him... but what if he was wrong and brought into the camp?!
