Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
paoneverstarstar here's a thread for Frostfire/Pineflurry and the kits Her mother told her it would be cold where she was going. Coming from the desert, she understood what that meant. The nights there were always brutal, even with her mother and brother huddled around her. But this was ridiculous. All of it. Snow still covered the ground where Emris looked. The air lacked its harsh bite, but her pads still felt as if they were freezing off with every step she took away from the nursery. The days certainly were not getting warmer anymore, and the snow still refused to melt. At least it gave her an idea. Emris glanced over her shoulder to eye her brother.
The snow bengal's fur stood in stark contrast with her brother, Kvalun. The charcoal bengal followed his sister around the camp on this cold summer morning like a shadow. His sister had taken to her new clanmates rather well. She even started to venture beyond non-verbal communication while he stayed silent. He looked down at the snow as his sister led the way through the early morning rush. That's where he made his mistake.
Emris twirled around and smacked her brother across his face, claws sheathed, before tackling him into the earth, or that was her goal. The duo crashed into the fresh-kill pile, sending its contents flying across the camp. The kittens hardly noticed the destruction as they writhed around each other, and eventually the she-cat ended up on top. No one could miss the pride in her eyes as she stood over her beaten brother, but the eyes of the camp were locked on to her. That part escaped her completely.
Pineflurry had been about to place a piece of prey on the pile when it was destroyed. Kits. Just what were you going to do with them? The tom had been there the day the two siblings were brought in, curious about their family and where they came from he'd tried to ask but hadn't gotten an answer at the time. Since then, it'd become clear that the kits didn't speak, but they were slowly getting better. Gathering the now scattered prey, he began to rebuild the pile, once that was complete he'd scold the little ones for the mess and possibly find them a different less destructive game to play.
Finished with his silent task, the older tom moved towards the two kits and their game that was now over. "Kits." He'd had an idea, one he'd hoped to talk over with Frostfire later that evening regarding the two little ones before him. "Do you realize the mess you made?" Pineflurry was calm as he spoke, eyebrow raised and tail curled around his front paws as he sat waiting for their answer, whether that be a nod or a look of realization.
Despite his struggles to escape, the snow bengal kitten kept holding her brother down. She even buried his face a little deeper in the snow cover. It was all fun and games to her until Pineflurry showed up. Emris remained oblivious to him until his voice rang out behind her. It nearly made her jump out of her skin. When did he get there!? She slow turned around to face the towering warrior. Despite not knowing how to respond well, she could tell he was not happy with their little game.
She tilted her head to the side and pointed to her brother. "Fun we had. Mother taught us..." Her voice trailed off as her limited word choice came to light yet again. Emris had learned some of their tongue, but she spent most of the time with her brother, who was clueless to his new Clan's tongue. During this exchange he just looked to the side.
Pineflurry grinned, "yes, well it does seem fun but you've caused a large mess. Especially with the prey pile. I've cleaned it up but you'll need to take your play elsewhere so you don't knock it over again." He motioned with his tail back towards the nursery. Though he was thrown a little by the reference to their mother. He didn't know where these kits had come from or who their mother was but it was always confusing to hear about her. "What else did your mother teach you?" The tuxedo tom knew their speech wasn't great but anything was better than nothing and if they could figure out where they came from they could possibly work towards teaching them to speak better.
She rolled her eyes and a let out a little hiss as she and her brother were herded to the nursery. They did nothing to deserve this! It was all a harmless game. No one got hurt. As Pineflurry spoke a light dawned in her eyes. It took her a few seconds, but eventually the kitten put the words together. "If by a tom you are taken, bite under the tail." She looked back a clicked her teeth her in foster father's face before looking away again, ears down.
Kvalun was not sure what she said word for word, but he understood enough words to put it together. He glanced over at his sister and spoke for the first time since their play. "Godhaz la yali sekesh dheyaresh..." He looked back to Pineflurry again and back to his paws.
