Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Apparently Fallpaw had been destined to become an animal whisperer, though it had taken her some time to figure out exactly what she wanted to do with the revelation. She had spent a lot of time out on her own simply observing the different animals that called DayClan home, but until now none of them had really spoken to her. That was until she happened to stumble across a burrow of ferrets. The little babies looked similar to newborn kits, just longer and shorter. They even sounded a little like kits. But what really captured her attention was watching as the parents brought back an entire rabbit back to their burrow for the little ones to eat. She had spent the next several days just observing them, when an idea had come to her. If she could domesticate them, not only would have a new food source but an additional hunting technique. She could send the little creatures into tight places to hunt or to flush out prey. Waiting until the parents were gone, Fallpaw snuck into the burrow walking among the little ferret kits as the bounded at her paws nipping and biting at her paws. They had only recently opened their eyes, but were already primarily eating prey. She observed their behavior, before selecting a particularly feisty female that had dug it's teeth into her chest. She leaned down grabbing it by the scruff, taking off after shaking the other kits off of her before the parents returned.
The little kit squeaked in her jaws, wiggling helplessly unable to escape her grip. It sounded very similar to the kits they had in the nursery. Perhaps she could pass it off as a kit? She entered into camp, realizing that she hadn't fully thought this through.
"What do you think you're doing with that in camp? You do know Glowstar loathes them. If she finds it, she'll have it killed," Moltenpaw always tried to police his clanmates, leading was in his blood, which made the insult that much sharper to be named a Maverick Class at his promotion. He liked to pretend that he wasn't one by covering it with confidence and fire and so far, so good, "Actually, maybe we should. I always wondered what a ferret tastes like. They are so hard to catch, I'm impressed to managed to find one at all, even though it's just a baby."
He was a handsome tom, tall and filled out, colored with bengal rosettes thanks to his old Pravus Nocte blood. Although his words were sharp his voice was smooth like honey and he had the sweetest kiwi green eyes. The entire package resulted in an attractive young cat who did not seem so hard to approach, that is, until he opened his mouth. Moltenpaw was not notoriously mean but he was strong-willed which was easy to misinterpret.

Fallpaw
DayClan Apprentice
The Seductive
Fallpaw shrugged placing it firmly between her paws as it squirmed and bit at her legs "I am an animal whisperer, just doing my job" she answered smiling sweetly acting like there was nothing wrong with bringing the leader's worst fear back into the heart of DayClan's camp. Really the key to getting away with it was confidence "I have spent the last week out in the territory with my StarClan mentor trying to fall my calling, and now that I have even Glowstar wouldn't interfere" she kept her voice steady, not allowing even a shred out doubt to seep into her voice
"Besides its only temporary until I find more permanent arrangements to house it. As you stated they are rare, and I was lucky to be able to take it"
Moltenpaw had sort of expected Fallpaw to fire off some type of retort, but she didn't, so he was just silent for a few seconds as he watched her pin the pink little creature between her front paws. So she had decided to be an animal whisperer, huh? He wouldn't admit it, but he was jealous. He at one time wanted to be an animal whisperer, too, although he had always denied it. It was a job for wusses who couldn't fight and even as a kit his affinity for battle was more than apparent.
He swished his tail from side to side.
"Well, you can't keep it here." Even though he'd mentioned eating this little thing, he hadn't really been serious. Moltenpaw found those little squirming, helpless creatures likely just as cute as Fallpaw did, "Let's get it out of camp. One of the does just gave brith this morning and I'd bet she would accept this as its own. Baby bunnies and ferrets look just the same when they are this young and odds are Glowstar will not notice it for quite some time for the same reason."

Fallpaw shook her head "I can't do that"she looked down at the little creature before looking upwards "This one already has a taste for meat, and I don't believe the other animal whisperers would approve of me releasing a ferret into their stocks. As little as she is, she could already do quite a bit of damage" she picked up the little ferret to head back to her den
Moltenpaw put himself in front of the den Fallpaw was trying to enter. He was starting to get nervous on her behalf, "You can't just... bring it into the apprentice's den?" His statement sounded like a question. Would the other apprentices rat her out? Would the little bald thing even survive the night? He didn't want it to die, "There's got to be a better - safer - place for it somewhere else."

"Well let me know when you think of some where, in the mean time me and my ferret are going to go rest" she replied trying to shoulder past him. Let them tell, she would just claim that starclan had chosen her for this position and that if they had a problem with it they could take it up with them
Moltenpaw was very close to causing a scene if he continued to forbid Fallpaw's entry. He sighed and gave in, allowing the smaller apprentice and her ferret into the nest even after all the fuss, "You're mad," He said, but it wasn't insulting, sort of a sarcastic laugh. He would give her credit for what he perceived fearless nature, "If someone kills that thing while you sleep do not blame me for it."

"I wouldn't worry about that to much" she purred, pulling sprout in close to her chest, wrapping her paws around the tiny creature as it curled up against her
