Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
(New event! SwiftClan and RR are having a feast... only things don’t go well and the clan ends up poisoned. Join in on the chaos! If you have an exchange apprentice, let them get sick or die for extra fun!)
He hadn’t told the Regime they were coming. He suspected their little spy had run ahead, and that was fine with him.
“Come on. Let’s go feast,” Chimerastar called back to his clan. “The tunnels await us.”
Well duh, Evelyn had spilled. The ebony she-cat had taken Chim's eye, but him showing up unannounced with an entire clan was bound to have Shule slaughter him. After all, the SwiftClan leader had to have heard about Foxbane and Funk. Or maybe not, knowing him.
As expected, however, there was a patrol waiting on ahead to greet them. Headed by Sentinel Kaisra, the chaotic feline flashed a knowing grin as she waved the clan down the tunnel she'd suddenly appeared from.
"This seems like an awful idea." Beastsrefrain grumbled to himself. Though the way his stomach growled fought against his notion to walk away. The tom was already a poor hunter, he really couldn't argue with the potential for food. Even if there was also the potential for death, though at least he could fight.
"We already gave the other clans our apprentices, if we show up asking for food they might give them back," he responded calmly, without looking back at the newcomer. "And we can't have that." As they neared the patrol he dipped his head in greeting to the sentinel in front, his half-gaze sweeping over the group.
"You must be the welcome party. We brought some prey of our own to contribute," Chim told her, signaling his daughter to approach and show off the single rabbit they had brought.
Sean came up beside his daughter Kaisra and let out a soft oh "You poor cats, are you homeless?" Sean asked with concern staring at their sad single rabbit. He often forgot SwiftClan was a clan.
"What's a home?" Pygmyprawn piped up with a snarky meow, casting Chimerastar a smirk. Cal sat further back, grinning and waving his feathery black tail happily at Sean.
"We would be grateful for your hospitality..." Beestripe disliked having to go to another clan for food, but he kept the thought to himself. He was hungry after all.
Sean had completely missed Beastsrefrain's comment at first, only having a late reaction blushing after everyone spoke.
"To be completely honest we're just making ends meet on our end, I'm not sure we would have any prey to share," Sean said, but didn't feel too guilty. After all Renegade Regime was starving for moons and never went around begging for people to give them food. They sought help, but never charity.
"You really didn't need to tell them that Sean," Sentinel Gardenia deadpanned, her fluffy blonde tail already swishing back and forth behind her in irritation at the situation. Her gaze was cold as she stared down the ragtag group of Swiftclan cats; how pathetic, that they'd actively try to get prey from them, instead of hunting for themselves.
"Aww, come on," Sliprabbit purred with a playful giggle in her voice as she blinked her cute green eyes up at Sean. "Don't 'cha got any room for little ol' us? We came all this way after all~" Although the main reason she joined her uncle Chim on these..."outings" was just to meet a bunch of new cats, she couldn't deny that she was starting to feel a bit peckish after walking for so long.
Scout Superior Laurel padded up to the group with a half-frown on her delicate face. "Well, this is really up to Commander Shule. Fortunately, we caught a little extra this morning on the patrols but our group's well-being comes first, of course." Her azure gaze turned to Chimerastar with her last statement, glancing him over. Her tail twitched slightly, feeling both irritation and pity for the group. "Come with me. Your group can rest with the scouts while we wait for Shule's decision." She eyed the sentinels as if to signal to watch Swiftclan closely before turning to lead the way.
Chim almost considered smiling as he listened to his clan. He would never admit it, but showing up unexpectedly for feasts was becoming a very amusing pastime for him, and one he hoped to continue. Maybe they could visit MoonClan or DayClan next... it was a long walk, but they would live near those clans eventually. MoonClan wasn't that far from their current settlement.
He considered the Superior's offer, then nodded. "Pygmyprawn, Sliprabbit, keep an eye on everyone," he ordered, as if he had forgotten his deputy was there. "Last time I was here you had more than enough prey to share with us. Surely you've recovered from the floods all those moons ago?"
Mercenary Superior Undertow had overheard something was remiss and narrowed his eyes as he noted a group of cats had assembled in the tunnels. "What's going on?" He asked focusing at first on Gardenia, before remembering he should probably be speaking to the Scout Superior about the matter, so he shifted his position so he was standing angled towards Gardenia, but looking at Laurel.
He frowned when he recognized Chimerastar, and let out a sigh. "Chimerastar, I understand your group wanders about like a bunch of vagabonds but that doesn't mean you can come to the borders demanding charity." IT sometimes seemed like SwiftClan was a bunch of rogues pretending to be a clan, and though Undertow could understand the struggles and hardship of living like rogues the benefits was to be able to pick up and move wherever the prey was running better.

Kaisra angled her head and smiled at the poor, poor superiors who clearly had no idea what was going on. Not that there'd been much time to brief them, hence why she was leading this patrol. "Alright, enough chatter. Gotta talk to Shule and hope she chooses to feed you instead of killing you." She waved a paw at Chimerastar, beckoning him to follow. "You two Superiors may as well come with. Shule's expecting him."
Chim failed to recognize Undertow entirely; he had been in prison when the tom joined his clan, and he had been under too much stress to meet all the new cats. "It's poor form to murder an innocent cat who comes to treat with you," Chim commented as he followed after Kaisra. "I always believed Commander Shule would have more sense than that." He was beginning to think he might miss Commander Mars after all.
Hearing a familiar voice, the light brown tabby pushed his way through the rank of SwiftClan cats to stare at the Mercenary Superior in astonishment. "Undertow, is that you? When I saw you didn't join the clan, I thought you died," Wyverndelirium murmured. As deputy, he had tried to learn the name of all their rogues and Undertow had been one of the more loyal ones if he remembered right.

Kaisra grinned. "She isn't likely to consider half a clan any kind of party except one meant for war." She glanced between Undertow and Wyverndelirium. "Oh good, you two know each other. That will either be very good, or very bad, depending on what Superior Undertow thinks of you." The Sentinel didn't really seem the type to wait around, continuing on at just enough of a speed that made it near impossible to map where they were going. As if they really could anyway, with the twisting and turning and heavy scent of earth that seemed to coat the inside of the nose if you weren't used to it.
Undertow turned his head to Wyverndelirium, he chuckled a bit wearily. "I'm afraid after WaterClan fell, the life of a group was the only one I could pick. The structure of the regime has treated me well as you can see," The black tom noted. His promotion still a surprise, but even though he was cordial with Wyverndelirium and Chimerastar, underneath it he was annoyed. If this was what the remnants of WaterClan had become he was glad he'd picked the life as part of the rigid regime.
"Then your Mercenary informed her poorly. I look forward to seeing how you punish her," Chim answered simply. If Evelyn didn't properly prepare the Regime, that wasn't his fault. Sure, he didn't explicitly tell her to go ahead, but he knew she would anyway.
"You look good," he agreed with a little nod. Wy couldn't help wondering if he would have turned out as well if he joined a group. "I'm glad to see you found a place where you could be happy."
Undertow nodded. "I am," He said, thinking of Gardenia. After meeting her, he'd have been happy anywhere. He hadn't had a chance to talk with her since his promotion and he so desperately wanted to. He shook his head, his thoughts tended to wander when he thought of Gardenia. "I'm surprised though, is this really what you'd want to be doing?" He asked gesturing about them to imply the circumstance.
(I skimmed this I sure I missed something whateverrrrr)
RENEGADE REGIME
"Commander Shule, SwiftClan has entered the tunnels." Sentinel Havilah, having originally served as a Scout, had been returning from a hunt when he scented and then observed the nomadic Clan filter into one of the better-known entrances of their tunnel system. Knowing that that entrance was well-guarded, he buried his meal and sped off to report to his Commander, "There were kits and apprentices with them, so I do not believe that it is a hostile takeover." He reported honestly, "But I do believe we should let the Mercenaries handle them. Teach them a lesson. The fact that they can lead an entire Clan into our tunnels, unannounced, without fear of consequence, reflects poorly on the Regime. We are not pushovers!" Honeystorm
SWIFTCLAN (actually SUMMERCLAN)
Wispypaw was used to wide open fields and lush vegetation in her home Clan of SummerClan. In that regard, the Renegade Regime could not be any more opposite. The territory was almost always covered in a blanket of snow except for this season and thus had few trees and shrubbery outside of harder, gangly plants used to a hard life. The last thing she wanted to do was descend into the dark tunnels but at this point her paws were tied. She had to stay with the group, "This is a terrible idea..."
SWIFTCLAN (regular ol' SWIFTCLAN)
Casimir Muda stuck pretty close to the rest of his brothers, odd eyes wide in curiosity and excitement. The Clan hadn't collectively moved as a group since his birth so every new thing seemed like some kind of miracle, "What do you think they did with all the dirt after they dug out these tunnels? It had to go somewhere."
Beestripe noticed one of the exchange apprentices looking at the tunnels with apprehension. He made his way over to her, realizing that his leader and others were able to carry on the conversation with the higher ups without him. "Hi," he meowed softly, trying to keep his voice down so as not to disturb those talking. "You're one of our guests, right? What's your name?" Jadie
"Wispypaw." She answered hurriedly, surprised to find SwiftClan's deputy of all cats seeking her out and asking her name. She hoped that Beestripe was different than his leader and medicine cat. While she hadn't spoken to either of them since finding her way to SwiftClan for the exchange, she had been less than impressed by how they handled themselves at the picnic, "I'm from SummerClan. My parents are Stormgazer and Windyhurricane. And you're Beestripe, the deputy. What are we doing here, really?"
Shule had been simply sitting in her den, speaking with Evelyn about said SwiftClan cats, when Havilah interrupted by rushing in. The Commander paused, her head turning to her step-grandson as she offered him a slight nod. "I have been made well aware of their presence already, Havilah." The ebony feline noted, her tail twitching to the she-cat nearby. "I sent Kaisra to bring Chimerastar to my den already. They should be here soon enough. There's no need to rush into action, especially not with tykes in the mix."
Kaisra, really, wasn't that far off, not by more than a few moments, much like her mother had predicted, and she motioned Chimerstar forward as they entered headquarters, trotting for the Commander's den automatically.
Wispypaw responded to him quickly and he smiled encouragingly at her. Beestripe was little surprised she even knew who he was, but the idea made him happy and he purred. At her question, the deputy hesitated to answer. He wasn't very excited about their reasoning for being here, but Beestripe was honest and he told the SummerClan apprentice, "We're here to hopefully get some food. It's difficult to hunt when you're sharing territory with another clan." Jadie
"You're letting them into headquarters." It wasn't a question. Havilah would trust his commander's judgment; however, he made sure she knew when he did not agree with it. It amazed him just how many cats Shule knew and how many rules she would bend because of it. He had to remind himself that she could do that. She was in charge, and he was her guard. When Kaisra walked in, he turned his deep green eyes to the cats that followed her, glaring daggers at them in an attempt to intimidate. Honeystorm
SWIFTCLAN
"Wait, so we are just going to walk in here and take their food? Am I hearing you correctly?" Wispypaw's warning orange eyes widened in shock. It was so simple, and so, so stupid, "Why don't you just move and catch your own prey? I thought that was why you were nomadic. Stay in once play until you don't have enough resources to support yourself anymore and then moving..." cookie
The apprentice's reaction mirrored his own opinion, though he kept it quieter than she was. "That is correct," he offered, breaking off as Wispypaw continued speaking. Finally she trailed off. Beestripe shrugged and sighed. "I guess that's true, Wispypaw. But we have to have permission to stay on land, or at the very least we need to make sure we can be safe before we set down camp. Until we can prepare for the next move, this is our best shot at getting some extra food." The deputy thought about his family at home, about his new little kits. He didn't mind not eating for a few days but he wanted Lamb to stay strong and healthy for them. Jadie
Wyverndelirium's stance changed as he shifted his weight to the side. "I'm not sure," he admitted after a pause. "I wanted to be with my family again. I didn't know this is what they like to do. I suppose making allies can't be all bad, can it?" He smiled at Undertow. He wasn't convinced this was the proper way of making an alliance, but at least Chim was trying?
The ginger tom nodded to Kaisra as he followed her into Headquarters and over to Shule. "Commander," he greeted with a respectful dip of his head, "we're here to share prey with you." His half-gaze stuck on hers, following closely for a sign that Evelyn had indeed warned her.
"I don't think walking in asking for prey really builds much of an alliance," Undertow said drily as they entered the headquarters of the Regime. His ear twitched as he overheard Chimerastar state to Commander Shule he wished to 'share' prey with them and Undertow let out a soft snort and shook his head. He didn't dislike Chimerastar, but he didn't like beggars. You pulled your own weight or you starved. He liked the support structure within a group, it seemed wrong to let young die because a mother had to struggle to feed herself and her kits on her own. But one thing the regime had brought out was a drive to ensure you were doing enough to earn your place in its rank.
There was no room for freeloading in these tunnels.

Shule didn't even move an inch as she gave Chimerastar a long look. Her expression was easily schooled into stoicism, cold, unreadable, and not particularly forgiving either. They didn't know each other well, but that was irrelevant to the matter at paw. "I'm amazed at your audacity to think you can simply waltz in here and ask for prey." The Commander mused, though she hardly looked impressed by his actions, she didn't really look anything but stern. "Here in the Regime, you work for your meal, why should an outside clan be any different?"
"We aren't looking for a handout. My warriors brought prey of their own to offer to you," Chim assured. A negligible amount, but enough to make his point. "We've come in peace to meet, exchange prey, and bond our clans together. I don't require an alliance from you, just a meal and an agreement not to attack each other in the next few moons."

Shule gave Chimerastar an appraising glance. He didn't look the best. The Regime had finally gotten to a place of relative stability with everyone hunting and their traps, so her noting anything less than they were was really a sad sight. "I have a feeling that if you had enough prey to feed your own, you might not have just showed up as you are." The Commander mused.
"My point stands. You don't get prey without work. However, it so happens the Regime could use some help. We make traps for prey, keeps it fresher and helps to catch extra passively while the Scouts hunt." She explained easily. "We're in need of a few more. While we get a meal set up, your clan will help build our extra traps." It was a relatively easy offer. It gave them busy work, and more than that, it gave them the knowledge of how to do the same thing themselves. Which, between the knowledge and free prey, was a good deal, all things considered.
