I'm thinking Bravebear could save her from some small thing? Like a fox or maybe she felt in some deep water or whateves. That would give him a reason to continue to feel protective and get them to bond a bit?
(Sure! Maybe it's a dog? and she gets a flashback of the dog that attacked her and took her leg so she freezes? Or a fox and she gets cornered in a tree log, like in the Fox and teh Hound movie lol neverstarstar)
(neverstarstar Perfect so let's get role playing then. So we've got Eveningpaw being cornered by a dog and then rescued by Bravebear. The two stick together after the incident and he takes to watching over her more while she sees him as her knight in shining armor. Sound good?)
Eveningpaw hadn't been able to become an apprentice when siblings had due to his missing leg and the complications that come with that. But here she was now, working her way towards becoming a true warrior of the clan! Out for a hunt to practice her skills, close to the Blossom Stone Path but just far enough away from the Japanese Garden that she was allowed to hunt there. A rabbit raced past, clearly sacred of something but she didn't think much of it.

(i had a response type, lost internet at Starbucks, and had to retype -.-)
Bravebear padded purposely through the territory, one one of his well-known rounds of SpringClan's land. His ears and eyes were sharp and looking for the slightest change to his environment, Marbleknight had once joked that he'd notice if a bee took pollen from a flower. Bravebear liked to think so. This territory was familiar to him and as he weaved along the Blossom Stone Path he was momentarily overcome with affection for every part of SpringClan. It's cats, land, camp, prey.
The scent of a fellow clanmate and a rabbit gave him no reason for concern and he gave the other cat plenty of space, but there was a sudden heaviness around him. A quiet that he found unnerving at this time of day. Pausing, he scented the air warily.
She took chase after the startled rabbit, a grin on her face as she caught up to the creature. Rabbits were tricky for her with only having three legs, so for it to have run in front of her had put her at an advantage she wasn't used to. It'd be her first rabbit, and she'd give it to the queens with pride! But her dreams were crushed when the creature that originally scared the poor rabbit came chasing after it. A dog was now hot on her tail. She nearly froze when she turned to see what it was that was now chasing her as she chased her prey and found the demon of her nightmares. Terrified, she tripped over her front paw and crashed to the ground where she remained, frozen in fear.

The scent of dog hit him just as the sound of the beast tearing after something did. His clanmate! Without hesitation he took off after the tangle of scents, paws thumping against the ground as he ran. Bravebear couldn't see the clanmate in peril, or the rabbit, but after several moments the tail of a dog appeared and he let out a furious, desperate battle yowl. The dog seemed surprised enough to slow and with a mighty leap the tom slammed into the creature, knocking it away from the cat who turned out to be Eveningpaw.
The dog recovered and Bravebear regained his balance, fur fluffed and him snarling, eyes on the brute before him.
It was a boxer, a large one at that. No puppy, that was for sure. And Eveningpaw was no help. She remained frozen, terrified in fear as she gazed out at the dog and the warrior before her. She couldn't process anything, not even that the dog before her wasn't anywhere close to the one that'd taken her leg. The poor she-cat's mind could only reply that day all over again, the tragedy of losing her leg and nothing else. Her fur raised, her claws were out and stuck in the ground, her eyes wide and glassy and her body tense for action she wasn't able to do.

"Get back," Bravebear growled, shifting so he was inbetween Eveningpaw and the dog as he moved towards the dog, hoping to force it back and away from the terrified apprentice. He wasn't big compared to this dog, but even knowing this dog could kill him, he stood firm and took a decisive step towards the brute. "Eveningpaw," he meowed, eyes never leaving the dog, "run when I attack, can you do that?"
Eveningpaw only processed the run and so she did. The three leg she-cat didn’t wait for him to attack or move or even give the command, she just ran. Ran like fire was at her tail, like the sky was falling, like her life depended on it. Her eyes locked on a tree with a low branch, one she’d be able to make it up with one three paws. She aimed, leapt and managed to snag it with her belly on the Branch and her back paws kicking her further up. Eveningpaw headed for the second branch and only then did she look back. Her heart raced, and her eyes locked on Bravebear and the dog.

As soon as Eveningpaw ran the dog switched it's attention to her. The beast tensed, readying itself to chase her, and Bravebear hurriedly slammed himself into the dog, knocking the breath from his lungs. The dog paused as though to decide which prey to chase. It apparently decided on Bravebear. With a loud, booming bark the dog turned back to the Bravebear with a menacing look in it's eye. The warrior had recovered enough to slowly begin backing up, hissing all the while. "Get back!"
Scared Eveningpaw -- more like terrified out of her wits and pale as can be -- couldn't seem to find her voice in that moment. She wanted to yell, to scream, to do anything to help the tom but she was frozen. Claws locked into the bark of the tree and jaw hanging open in a silent sentence. Finally, as the beast made a move after the tom she found her voice. She could see the twoleg running their way. "Thisway!" Her words sounded as one as she called out, hoping to get Bravebvear to come her way while the twoleg attempted to gain control of the yarn dangling from the dog's neck. Maybe, and so hoped it would, the beast would become tangled upon the bush near by, and strange itself. It was a small hope. One that pushed her to call out the idea to the warrior below her. "Bravebear! The bush! The bush!!"

Faintly, heard her voice. So she hadn't run, great StarClan what was gonna happen if the dog finished him off? Why hadn't she run away as instructed? But then the words registered. The bush? The dog seemed content to creep toward him, perhaps hoping he'd run, so Bravebear risked a glance to the bush she'd mentioned. It was great mangled thing, sharp and tangly. Was he supposed to run and hide in it? Somehow he doubted it would truly make him safe. But, he glanced at the dangling thing from the dogs neck. Ah, clever Eveningpaw.
Without another second's hesitation he let out what was supposed to be a frightened yowl and took off. The dog yipped and flew after him, but Bravebear managed to ram himself right into the bush before it caught him. The spindly branches scraped his fur and skin and it was hard to push himself through the bush and out the other side. The good thing, he soon found out, was that it had done the trick. As he was fighting through the sticks he heard the dog slam itself into the bush as well, there was a series of furious yelps and as Bravebear scrambled out and back around the bush to see the dog out of the many limbs but the dangling bit around his neck was hopelessly tangled in them. It went crazy when it saw him, barking and scrabbling at the ground, but it held. They were safe.
Seeing the dog stuck, she rushed to his side, pushing him with all her might away from the rose bush as the beast yowled and tried to get after them once more. "Move! We have to move!" Didn't he understand! The dog could get free any moment, they would only be safe far, far away from here. At least, that's how Eveningapw felt about the situation. She'd been around a dog only once before, and it had not ended well. It was luck a patrol had found them that day or she wouldn't be here today, running beside him towards a different part of the territory.
