Echomelody waited for her prince near the multifalls. It was only days after the fireworks burned down majority of the forest. While that was a major set back in a serious decision, she finally made that decision and she wanted to share it with her love. She had asked him to meet her in the forest at moon high. It was important and dire that he showed up. She had to speak to him about something that has been on her mind for quite some time now. Jetclaw
Beetleflight winced as the walk towards the multifalls gave him a view of how bad the forest had been hit by the fire. But his expression brightened when he spotted Echomelody and he hurriedly trotting over, heart starting to beat a little faster in his chest. He slowed and took a moment to give his chest fur a few licks to smooth it down before he walked up to her. "You said you wanted to see me?" He asked tilting his head.
Echomelody purred when she saw him. She beckoned him to sit beside her before she began talking to him. "We've been seeing each other for a while. And, well...we've never took a big step in our relationship...it's not common for the female to ask but...I was thinking...would you be opposed to a wedding?" She wasn't sure what Beetleflight would say. Her cheeks felt warm and her heart raced. What if he said no? What if he's been wanting to call off whatever they had? Were they even together? They never really made it official. They just kind of...got together.
Beetleflights eyes widened as he realized where this was going and he felt a bit sheepish at having it taken out of his paws, but he looked at her with bright eyes. "NightClan's never done a wedding but from what Squirrelleap described of the SunClan ceremony thing he went to, it's quite a lovely way to show you care... and I'd love to do that for you. Show you just how much I care about you and how much I want to spend the rest of our days together. And give my mother all the grandkits she could ask for." He let out a laugh, "She's certainly been asking enough."
A purr rumbled in her throat. "She sure has been asking. And I think a wedding is a wonderful idea. I didn't attend the Sunclan wedding but word about it already pretty quickly and I would really love to have one with you and maybe begin our family." She responded, brushing against him.
Beetleflight let out a purr of his own, rubbing his cheek against hers. "A family," He murmured, voice soft and reverent. Like Echomelody had brought down the stars and presented them to him. "I didn't hear much about the ceremony besides it being a grand affair, should we go to Flamingstar and ask about it? Maybe ask Squirrelleap for some details about the ceremony he saw... though he was pretty tight lipped about particular details though," He admitted. "Just said the ceremony was grand, each cat had a few who helped them prepare, and then an important cat lead the ceremony. So I imagine Flamingstar would be the one to wed us... or Turbulentsea depending on who wants to do it."
"True! But, maybe there was a reason Squirrelleap didn't say much. Perhaps it was more private than I was led to believe." Echomelody wondered aloud. "We could definitely ask him, though. And we can ask Flamingstar, I suppose. But...not sure how I would feel with Flamingstar wedding us..." She was definitely not on good terms with the Nightclan leader. It seemed Flamingstar was always yelling at Echomelody for something. Like the leader had it out for her and was attempting to make her.life absolutely miserable. Flamingstar was definitely the last person Echomelody wanted to wed her and her mate but she was the Nightclan leader so it would make sense if she did do it. However, someone was there to wed Littlestar. Perhaps Turbulentsea or Ahava would do it.
Beetleflight grimaced. "Yeah... now that you mention it, she is kinda... mean." He admitted. "We can talk to Squirrelleap though since he'd know most about this wedding thing! And if you'd rather have Turbulentsea or Ahava wed us we can ask to do that." He told her tail waving. "Do you want to go look for Squirrelleap or..." He hesitated. "Since it could be super secret that he can't tell us much, what if we come up with our own ceremony? The echobeetle marriage ceremony." He said, looking a bit sheepish in the name. "Like, I'd love to do a whole wedding, but I'd also like something kind of low key and small. Like your family and mine, because you know my mother would insist on being there, and would claw my ears off if it happened otherwise." He said with a soft chuckle.
