Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
[Nightclan is starting something new for the Loyal Guard! Each week, Flamingstar will choose someone from the clan for the Loyal Guard to interrogate to ensure their loyalty to Nightclan and Flamingstar, herself! This week, Floodfate will be the first cat to be interrogated! All Loyal Guard members are welcome to reply! But please keep this between the Loyal Guard and whom they are interrogating!]
Flamingstar made her way over to her Loyal Guard members who were gathering in her den for a private meeting. The ginger leader had requested they meet at this time for an important announcement. She squeezed into her den, her turquoise eyes stopping for a split moment at each of her Loyal Guard members before finally taking a seat. "Many of you wonder why I have called you here." As she began the meeting, she set her owlet atop her shoulders. "Ive come to hear that many of my subjects are beginning to question their loyalty to their clan and to me. Each of you are Nightclan's most elite warriors and I can only trust you to do this mission for me. Any time I begin to question someone's loyalty, I will call you to interrogate them. I have already made a choice for your first interrogation - Floodfate. He may have passed the innitiation but I have my doubts about him. Interrogate him and find out where his true loyalty belongs."
Shadowedleaf looked among his comrade, curious to see who would be the first to do accept that mission. He knew what he signed up for when applied for the Loyal Guard, but he didn't think wavering loyalty would be brought up in discussion, never an internal issue. It sent a shiver down his spine. Being the youngest of the group, he hadn't had the experience to do something like interrogation. He was too afraid to ask one of the other Guards what Flamingstar meant by that but if his imagination was any good, it could on mean bad things for Floodfate. But just to make sure...
"Are we just supposed to ask them questions?" Shadowedleaf asked Flamingstar.
The tom winced. Uh oh. That could only mean one thing... "But wait, why do you suspect him of being disloyal? I mean you did let him jo-" Shadowedleaf held his tongue before he completed the rest of the sentence. But it didnt make sense to him. If you still dont think he would be loyal, why wouldn't you just let him stay as a prisoner, he wanted to say. He shook his head before looking to his peers again. "Any of you guys going to be the one to do it?"
Crouched within the confines of the camp as he nibbled away at a mouse, the new warrior was completely unaware that his loyalty was in question. It wouldn't come as a surprise - he certainly didn't look trustworthy, deep scars through his shoulder and face marring his once cherubic features. He had kept to himself since he joined the clan and even if he made it through to become a warrior he had few friends and spoke rarely. He had come to the clan for a new life, but he couldn't bring himself to claim it.
"No, Shadowedleaf. Each Loyal Guard Member must participate." She explained, giving him a warning look as if not to question her decisions any further. "You are all dismissed. Report back to me when you get him to break."
He sighed sadly. "Right, of course," he said as he turned to leave. Let's get this over with then. Hopefully Flamingstar's suspicions were wrong. It just seemed a bit random, though, that they would be given this mission, but he couldn't question it.
Frozenfire's expression was cold and closed off, giving away nothing of what she was thinking. The bitterness in her icy heart. The anger she felt towards Ratnest and Flamingstar for what had happened to her beloved Ericanorth thanks to their failed plot. Oh she still loathed Burningstar and Turbulentsea, as they were directly responsible for Ericanorth's death, but Flamingstar had been the mastermind. Flamingstar had been brought on Frozenfire's urging and had snubbed her. Taking advantage of Frozenfire's pregnancy to give deputyship to another cat. And Frozenfire had not forgotten the affront. Thus she was waiting and biding her time, waiting for the moment to strike. And this. Was an interesting turn of events. "Of course Flamingstar, consider it done," She drawled. "And I and Creampuff will let you know if there's... any concerns we have." She said, then she turned and stepped out into camp beginning to look for Floodfate
Flamingstar nodded gratefully to Frozenfire. Even though the loyal Guard members hated her for stealing the throne and potentially being the cause of her mate's death, Flamingstar was completely oblivious to Frozenfire's true feelings. Either Frozenfire kept it well hidden or the Nightclan leader had simply let Frozenfire have too much of her trust.
Floodfate glanced up as he noticed the guards exiting the den. They weren't a crowd he was interested in dealing with, so he rose his paws and the short tom began to slink toward the exit.
