Unseenlights
SunClan Warrior
The Reserved
It was official. Unseenlights and Duskslayer were officially engaged after many moons of dating and traveling between the clans together. Now all that was left to do before the ceremony was to inform the members of their family about their engagement and invite them to the wedding... personally. She felt impatient, but proceeding without personally delivering the news to the members of their family would only make their lives harder in the long run. So the pair would have to spend the next moon traveling between the clans to visit with their families... On today's agenda... Glowstar.
As they reached white tree staring out over DayClan's territory she leaned into Duskslayer, trying to tame the flurry of butterflies in her tummy. Glowstar wasn't her biggest fan, even though she had tried to build up a relationship with the DayClan leader "Why do I get the feeling this isn't going to go over well"
"I'm not sure, she never got to judge my sister because by the time she knew they already adopted kits. Although Serenity had kits and she was excited," Duskslayer said reassuringly, although he was pretty certain his mom was supportive of his brother because he was an apprentice when he was having his first litter in a strange new group. Not to mention his blood related mother was Shule who no doubt didn't approve of having kits at such a young age. Before he couldn't imagine what Serenity had gone through, but after watching how Littlestar treated Bloody for eyeing her under age daughter he got a pretty good idea.
Glowstar was in the middle of the camps entrance, lying down on the grass, blocking everyone's way. Cats had to walk around her to get through, most were staring at the leader in the background with concern. "Hey," She said sadly as they approached.
"From the Regime? Yeah," Glowstar said rolling over to face away from them.
"We were going to tell you, that's why we're here," Duskslayer said simply, he wasn't about to fall into the drama even though that was tempting...
"Do you like her?" Glowstar asked hesitantly, rolling back over to look at them, almost with a slight fear at what the answer could be.
"I love her and I don't really care what your reaction is, it won't stop how I feel," Duskslayer said, his paw moving over Unseenlight's.
Glowstar looked the other way before looking back at him, "Well... I'm glad," She said before looking away completely to avoid him seeing her teary eyed expression.
"Are you serious? Why can't you just be happy for us that we're getting married?" Duskslayer said with a slight hiss.
All the fur on Glowstar suddenly stood on end, "I'm sorry- What?" She turned to look at him, but this time her expression looked far more dangerous than sorrowful.
"Oh was that... Not the topic we were talking about? Let's go back to whatever you were talking about, you seemed way less scary then," Duskslayer said nervously.

Unseenlights
SunClan Warrior
The Reserved
Unseenlights stopped alongside Duskslayer unable to see the DayClan leader lying ahead in their path, even if she could scent her. As the she-cat's voice rang our she leaned into Duskslayer picking up on the tense atmosphere even if she couldn't see the more nuanced actions and body language going on around her. Instead of retreating she stood her ground wrapping her tail around his in support even with the heaviness in he own stomach. She wanted to be strong for him... no for both of them. Their future was on the line, and even though she was trembling under her long fur she didn't try to retreat or cover up their blunder
She cleared her throat "What Duskslayer is trying to say, is that we are engaged" luckily she couldn't see the all to scary look in the leader's eyes or she may have faltered "We traveled here from the The Regime to both inform you of our engagement and invite you to our wedding" she pressed her nose to Duskslayers cheek trying to comfort herself as much as him, slowly turning back to Glowstar before speaking "We would love to receive your support, but either way this wedding is going to happen" she asserted boldly even as she felt her limbs shaking
Glowstar sat up straighter, the troubled look in her eyes was far from dulling, but she gave in a little. "After my husbands death I have loved very few times. There are few cats that can handle this kind of family especially when you're the head of it. Dusky has always been the responsible one to look out for his family as you can tell from him willingly leaving SunClan to help his parents. I worried you would not enjoy that kind of dedication, but you proved me wrong Lights. Still, just because your heart is in it that doesn't mean you will succeed. This isn't me disliking you, this is my concern that you won't be able to survive this families hostile feuds. Nonetheless when you do marry I hope you know that I will never bring this conversation back up again and I will wholeheartedly treat you as family with love and compassion. I don't want you each to suffer the heartbreak Deal and I went through, but hopefully you'll be better than us." She said simply. Her worry didn't wash away, but the love that was brimming in her eyes was new and comforting, "I truly wish you both the best of luck."
Duskslayer for once felt resentful. His entire childhood he had every opportunity to resent Foxstar for separating his family, to resent Shule for taking his siblings away, resenting Glowstar for leaving his father, even resent his father for not putting him first. But there was always a level of understanding why each person did and reacted the way they did. He couldn't fault a wolf for being a wolf, type of philosophy. But now, after never asking for anything, Glowstar wouldn't give him the one thing he wanted, her emotion, "But you still can't be happy for us?"
"It's hard to be happy when I'm scared for you both," Glowstar admitted with a light bit of laughter, but her smile shined through, "But somehow I'm still over joyed for thee both of you. There's no question you're a great couple, I have just always worried about you and Cinnamon when it comes to Kotori. He kidnapped both of you, I'm afraid of what he would do if he learned of your happiness."
