Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
A few weeks had passed since Bluejay last spoke to Snakefang. They had both meet on a blind date arranged between DayClan and WinterClan cats. Since then their love had grown faster than seasons could change. Their passion towards one another was blind, the world around the two could melt apart, but they wouldn't notice. Last time she met with her mate she agreed to move into WinterClan to be with him. Now she was pregnant with their kits, it was soon, but she couldn't be happier to start a new life with him.
Bluejay stood at WinterClan's border waiting for a patrol to pass by so she could be guided into WinterClan. Bluejay was a tiny bit taller than the average cat thanks to her mother Glowstar's enormous height. She had black back legs with silvery dark fur across the rest of her body with lunar white rune like stripes cascading across her back and legs. Her chest fur wrapped around her neck, thick as a lions mane. Her face had a misty grey with a white smokey outline around her eyes giving her an almost mythical appearance. She stood out more than the average cat, but it wasn't too surprising, she wasn't born from normal means, she was a creation of the Sun God.
Polarblast was out leading patrol around the borders. He wasn't a fan of outsiders and yet, he'd participated in the blind dating event like many others of the clan. His kits now live here in WinterClan, but he makes no claim on them. The tom does this in order to please his mother, but also because he can't stand the mixing of blood, as he was raised to be. WinterClan cats should be of pure WinterClan blood. All may know the kids are biologically his, but that didn't mean he had to claim them. As far as Polarblast was concerned, the kits were random ones brought in and he'd have nothing to do with them. "Just one more border and we'll be done." Behind him Pineflurry nodded his head and followed suit as the fluffier tom paced ahead towards their final border. Following along was Snakefang and Snowbunny, the last of the patrol.
Snakefang grunted in response as he followed, his fur itching with anxiousness. Every patrol he was assigned to, he anticipated that she would meet him at border. But each time, he was disappointed. Although it was only a few weeks since they last spoke, it felt like forever to him. She did promise that she would be joining him in WinterClan...someday. Perhaps today was that day? But that presented another problem: how would the patrol respond to her? Only a pawful of cats knew about their occasional meetings, but more know of her name. As he trudged along, he was stuck deep in thought of what could possibly happen.
Snowbunny flicked some snow at Snakefang's face playfully before nudging his friend, "What's wrong? You've been looking distracted every time I see you on a patrol now."
He paused suddenly as the answer presented itself as they neared the border. In front of them was Bluejay waiting at the border, but to Snowbunny she was a stranger. He just hoped she wasn't from SwiftClan, he had way too many run ins with them. Snowbunny turned to look to Polarblast their patrol leader on what they should do.
Snakefang was caught by surprise by the snow and broken out of his train of though. "H-huh? I-it's nothing really," he lied halfheartedly as he looked over after Snowbunny. "Honest." He was too busy answering Snowbunny's question that he didn't realize the cause of his distraction was in front of him. Following the tom's gaze, his eyes locked onto Bluejay. He cracked a smile of relief but suppressed it quickly. She finally came. It took everything in him to not rush over and embrace her, but it would be suspicious. He was struck with a dilemma: should he feign ignorance and act like she's just another stranger or should he act on his love for her and keep her safe from any harm befalling her? He just couldn't decide. He looked between her and Polarblast, unsure of the right course of action.
Polarblast, the ever-loyal WinterClan tom, let out a growl, deep and rumbling. "Who are you?" He didn't go to the gatherings, ever. Offering instead to stay behind and guard camp, so he was unaware of who this she-cat before him was outside of the word of mouth. But no matter who she was, she wasn't getting past him without being escorted straight to the prisoner's den. Pienflurry geared up beside him, cautions about what would happen in the next few moments. The tom was older and wiser, but he too wasn't one for outsiders. The blind dating event was...interesting but still he'd participated for the sake of WinterCan's future numbers.
"I'm Bluejay from DayClan, I'm here to join WinterClan," Bluejay said with an outward smile. While she was pregnant she definitely didn't look like she was. Her family had the odd genetic trait that hardly gave her any extra fat, she looked as slim figured as any cat. It wasn't a particularly good trait as it made the kits inordinately tiny and vulnerable.
She had thought they would be welcoming like DayClan, but maybe they were more hostile to newcomers like SunClan was. That was fine though, if she had to go through an initiation process then that's what she would have to do. However she hadn't yet spotted Snakefang in the back of the patrol. Although Bluejay didn't know it her name was well known, many cats knew of her and her sister Pandora who brought corruption and fire to SunClan and DayClan all in the name of the Sun God. They were whispered to be monsters, something she thought only the ForestClan cats knew about.
Snowbunny's fur typically lied flat when an intruder approached, typically he was the prey thieving intruder. But ever since his run in with SwiftClan his fur immediately prickled with fear and alarm.
Making his way toward the front of the patrol, he made his presence known. It was hard to ignore her but he had to, at least for now. Giving her a brief glance, he turned Polarblast. "She wants to join WinterClan...what are we going to do with that information?" He was begging internally that the Knight would take Bluejay's word and just lead her back to camp to discuss further action with Wintrystar, but another part of him expected the worst. At the least, they would take her in as a prisoner. He could deal with that. "If I may make a suggestion, we should take her back to camp and put her in a holding cell," he recommended plainly "But it's your call, Polarblast."
A holding cell,? Joining WinterClna? No. That wouldn't be allowed. Cats couldn't just join WinterClan! You had to be born in it. It was a noble clan. Wintrystar was a fool allowing all these..outsiders in. But Polarblast wouldn't outright attack her,...until she crossed the border that is.
It was Pineflurry who spoke up, not one to fight unless provoked. While he shared Polarblast' opinions, it wasn't to the same degree. He was more welcoming, but also cautious. Many cats had turned on them in the past, but they were counted as prisoners for a reason. The tuxedo tom stepped forward, taking the choice out the patrol leader's paws for he knew how Poalrblast would react. "Someone needs to fetch Wintrystar and Stormyblizzard. Only they can deem someone worthy of joining the clan, but I doubt you'll just be allowed to do that demon!" His words were hissed, he knew who she was. The monster of DayClan. But why she was here was still unknown and as long as she stayed on that side of the border, Pineflurry wasn't touching the problem with a twelve-foot pine branch. He would fight tooth and nail though if she passed the border, for he wouldn't allow a demon to wreak havoc on his clan, his home!
(It's okay, there's just a lot of people that have been waiting for us to wrap this rp up for weeks now so they can do their plots. So I'm just over here trying to rush it xD)
"Then go grab her," Bluejay said with a taunting go on now gesture of her paw. Her eyes locked on Snakefang for just a moment before drifting away from him to nothing in particular.
"I can go grab her," Snowbunny volunteered. He wasn't much of a fighter so it would be more useful for him to put his speed to good use. He raced back to camp and brought Wintrystar and Stormyblizzard over.
(lol no worries. I'll put this as top priority then! How do I need to respond with Wintrystar again? did we plan that part out?) Phantom
Polarblast waited, hackles raised and teeth bared. Pineflurry was behind him to the right, more relaxed but just as aware of the tension. It was mostly between these two and the monster intruder, but Poalrblast's attitude had gotten worse upon hearing who she was, the monster fo DayClan. There was no way that Wintrystar would allow the demon in.
Back in camp, Wintrystar was conversing with her Heir. The two of them were discussing the outcome of the Blind Dating Event with DayClan. So far only one litter of kits had been reported, Polarblasts. And those were already in the clan's nursery. But what of the others they'd been promised?
Snakefang winced at Pineflurry's words, but, for a brief moment, he felt his fur prickle with anger. Just what he was hoping wouldn't happen; they knew who or, rather, what she was. But she wasn't the monster they claim she was, at least not during Closing his eyes, he calmed himself. "What do you mean she's a demon? She doesn't look like one to me. She looks perfect," he said glancing over to Bluejay then back to the party leader. Realizing what he would come off as rather suspect, he fumbled for a recovery with a straight face. "...ly normal. I meant perfectly normal." He mentally cursed himself. Hopefully, they would accept his answer and Wintrystar would arrive soon. Despite the hope, Snakefang wasn't sure what to expect from when they did arrive.
Waiting on them sent another wave of anxiety through Snakefang's body. What will Wintrystar decide? As of late, she was relatively lenient towards outsiders. There was also the chance that she would know about Bluejay. There was no way she wouldn't have heard about her. If Pineflurry knew, she would have to be aware too? I guess I will just have to wait and see.
Bluejay made a smooch motion with her lips towards Snakefang, but when the rest of the patrol turned their heads to look at her she retained a neutral expression.
"There's a she-cat at our border, she wants to join and the patrol wants you're opinion, I'll lead the way," Snowbunny said, but didn't waste much time as he led the way back to the patrol.
Wintrystar moves quickly, if a patrol was requesting her appearance than it was of an important matter. She followed at a fast pace behind her Knight of the Stars. Upon arriving she found Polarblast, Pineflurry, Snakefang, and Bluejay standing at the border in a stare down. “This is who you’ve called me for?” Her tone rose, displeased with the appearance of the monster of DayClan. There was no way she’d allow the cat to join WinterClan as anything over than a body to bury or an enternal prisoner. She wouldn’t allow anything less, not a sling as she wa speaker of the clan. She wasn’t as harsh on prisoners or outsiders at the moment, partially because of good behavior on their part and partially because of Alvah being one of them.
Bluejay stood tall, her tail tip flicking briefly, "I wish to join WinterClan, I'll serve you wherever you need." She said dipping her head. She could tell that Snakefang didn't want to reveal their relationship just yet, but that was understandable. She wouldn't bring that truth to the surface just yet, not until she settled down in the warriors den and proved her worth to the clan.
"If there's an initiation I have to go through I will do it," She promised. Even just looking at Bluejay there was something off about her eyes. One eye was golden, bright like the sun, while the other had two pupils, a rare condition that made it difficult to see out of that eye, but to many it was plain disturbing looking.
Finally. Snakefang eagerly spoke up, curious to see how the leader would respond, but judging by her tone of voice, it didn't appear she was going to be lenient. "Wintrystar, what do you want to do about her?" he asked looking at, attempting to get a read on her expression.
“There is no iniation for you!” Wintrystar turned on her paws to face Polarvlast, one of her most loyal warriors. “Escort her straight to the prisoners den and don’t leave until another guard takes over. Take Snakefang with you, between the two of you she shouldn’t be able to escape. She’s your prisoner for the time being.” She was furious at the mere idea that this cat thought she could just walk in and join WinterClan, even with the idea of being pardoned later and accepted as a full member! No a monster like her, one who helped destroy so much of DayClan and SunClan, who is a demon born from a monster of a god wasn’t worthy of warrior status in their clan.
