Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
It had been a very hot and dry couple of weeks, with no rain. The scolding sun had soaked up a lot of the moisture in the air. Plants were beginning to wither under the heat without proper water. The river that ran through Nightclan was even running lower than usual. However, at the moment, the sun was beginning to set over the horizon. The Nightclan cats were dozing in their nests, waiting for the last rays of light to disappear before waking when suddenly, a loud bang echoed through the territory and into the cavern, quickly followed by another. Startled from her sleep, Flamingstar shot to her paws, her mind still fuzzy but all of her instincts telling at her to run. As she pushed passed her screen of vines leading to her den, she heard a screaming whistle with yet another bang. "What is going on?" She meowed half to herself with utter confusion. The rest of her clan had heard the bangs too as they began to crawl from their nests to find out what was making the loud racket.
Flamingstar followed the path up to the surface ground and scanned the tree lines. That was when she noticed something glowing, rise to the sky and explode. She leaped back in surprise, her heart racing. "What in the-" she was cut off by another glowing light being shot into the air. Unfortunately, this glowing light didn't explode at the highest peak. It arched and began hurling down toward the forest. Just as it hit the tree line, the glowing ball of light exploded and sparks scattered the ground. Suddenly, the surrounding forest areas burst into flames. "Fire! Fire! Everyone evacuate!" She shouted into the cavern.
Giantpaw had been awoken early by loud noise, and the large apprentice felt his heart beat quickly as he jerked up. Other apprentices around him were waking up, too. He pressed himself down against his nest in alarm as the sounds continued, but he was roused to his feet by a voice calling fire. He had never seen fire before, but the panic in the familiar voice sent Giantpaw into anxious mode. He abandoned the den and other apprentices, rushing out toward the exit of the whole camp. He slid to a stop as he saw Flamingstar and bright orange light everywhere, heating his fur. "What's going on? Why's it so hot?"
"It's fire, Giantpaw. Fire is hot." Flamingstar responded, slight annoyance in her tone as she counted each head that rushed passed her. "Everyone evacuate to Moonclan territory!" The words felt bitter on her tongue. Moonclan was the last place she wanted to be but she knew they would help Nightclan out more than Dayclan or Sunclan would.
Echomelody rushed passed Flamingstar and stopped beside Giantpaw. "Stay close to me, Giantpaw. You don't want to touch that fire."

Softpaw woke alongside the other apprentices, scared and confused. The loud, booming sounds outside were entirely unfamiliar to him and pained his ears. Still, he hadn't gone deaf and so he heard the cries of "fire" and "evacuate". A large apprentice to his right was the first to bolt out of the den. Softpaw flinched at the sudden movement but he snapped quickly out of it and followed after him. The chaos in NightClan's camp caused Softpaw another brief pause. The apprentice he'd been following had gone straight to Flamingstar, but he was too wary of the leader to do the same.
Smoke made his nose wrinkle and his eyes, round as saucers, found the flames leaping in the distance. He couldn't tear his eyes away from the threat, but he could hear the order to evacuate to MoonClan. Only just becoming an apprentice, Softpaw didn't know their own territory let alone how to find MoonClan's. He needed to look at the other cats and follow them, but he was rooted to his spot, his whole body trembling like a leaf.
A voice calling his name made Giantpaw turn his head sharply, seeking the familiar cat in the hubbub. He was beginning to feel a little panicky. Giantpaw wanted to follow Echomelody, but something stopped him. "What about the elders? My grandmother is there." His brothers and mentor were also at the front of his mind, but he figured they could easily go with the rest of the clan. Giantpaw hoped that it was somebody's task to assist the elders. Off to the side, Giantpaw saw another apprentice shivering and frightened. He didn't associate with cats outside of his family so he didn't know the tom's name, but he kept one eye trained on them in worry while he waited for an answer to his question.
Echomelody looked from Giantpaw, to the flames growing rather quickly in the distance heading straight for them, and back again. She admired the Apprentice's selflessness and he was right. They didn't usually have anyone tasked to take care of those things. She supposed everyone just kind of took an elder or kit with them as they were escaping. However, here Echomelody was, escaping empty pawed. "Your right." She responded. "Come, let's go help the others." She lead the way back to into the cavern.
Driftingpaw lifted his head when he heard Flamingstar's warning and the loud bangs. He flinched when the rest of the apprentices rushed out of the den. The sensitive began to panic and he followed the others out of the camp. He was running blindly when Softpaw suddenly paused and Driftingpaw barreled into him. He recollected himself and realized what had happened. "Oop...I-Im sorry..." The black tom stammered, his eyes round in fear.

The ground disappeared for a moment as someone pushed into Softpaw. Hardly managing his footing before the collision, he completely lost it and toppled over onto his stomach. His nose, already burning from the smoke, stung as it hit the ground hard. It had snapped him out of his fear-driven daze though, and he slowly rose back to his feet to face the atta- apprentice. Driftingpaw was it? The tom apologized to him but Softpaw practically ignored it. “NightClan will kill me before the fire can,” he snapped weakly as the other’s fear reminded him of what his focus should be. Escaping. “We’re supposed to go to MoonClan’s territory?” He asked, hoping the Tom would lead him there.
"Y-yes" he stammered again, flinching as the other apprentice snapped at him. The shy apprentice pointed in the direction with his tail. "I-its this way. You can f-follow me..." He turned and started following the crowd. Driftingpaw was a very large tom and one of the older apprentices so he knew the territory well but he was incredibly shy and gentle. Usually he wouldn't even be speaking but seeing his own fear in Softpaw, he knew the other apprentice needed his help.

Softpaw's ears flattened with guilt at the apprentice's tone, but he only nodded his assent. He was used to his peers and seniors not liking him for his kittypet past and had thought maybe that was why Driftingpaw had cannoned into him before. He probably jumped to the wrong conclusion on that one though. As the older tom started moving, Softpaw was quick to follow after. Close enough that if Driftingpaw were to stop, he would run right into him. As they walked, Softpaw struggled to keep from panicking like before. Yes, he was scared. Everyone had to be. But he couldn't let the fear overcome him or he'd be dead much too soon. Licking his lips nervously he stammered, "Do you think MoonClan will be okay with us in their territory?"
Driftingpaw was surprised that the other apprentice was talking to him. As he spoke, his ears twitched nervously. "Well...I-Im not sure to be honest...Moonclan is pretty peaceful so I don't think they would mind...b-but I know that Flamingstar has family in Moonclan... w-which is probably why she is having us go there over going to Dayclan or Sunclan..."

"Oh, yeah. Of course," Softpaw mewed as he scanned the area around them. He still had a lot to learn and deep down, he wasn't sure he'd ever really understand the clans and how they worked. Everything about them screamed hypocrites. Softpaw was pulled from his thoughts when he noticed how warm his fur felt. His grey eyes went wide as he saw the flames spreading closer or maybe they'd just wandered closer to its path. Regardless, Softpaw's heart was thundering in his chest and his breath was growing shallow with the smoke infiltrating his lungs. "W- we need to hurry," he cried, jumping forward to nudge Driftingpaw's side.
"Leave me! I'll only slow you down!" Duskwing was growling at her son Beetleflight who was trying to get the three legged she cat out of the elders den. Beetleflight ignored her instead looking around for other cats to help him. His eyes lit up when he saw Giantpaw and Echomelody heading towards the elders den.
"Echomelody! My mother is struggling because of her leg, can you lend a paw?" He asked hopefully.
"Don't you dare risk the promise of future grandkits over my old hide!" Duskwing hissed tartly. Though she turned a more pleasant look to Echomelody. "Perhaps you'll make him see sense won't you dear?" She asked sweetly.
"Oh don't you try that, we're not having any self sacrificing crap now!" Bleakwind called as he ran for the nursery to begin grabbing any kits that hadn't been grabbed yet.
Driftingpaw startled as Softpaw nudged him but Softpaw was right, they needed to move. Driftingpaw burst into a run, following the retreating crowd.
Echomelody skidded to a halt in front of Beetleflight and Duskwing. She dipped her head to the elder. "Duskwing, it is noble of you to risk your life for the sake of the clan but we have time to get you and the others out. The more you hesitate, the shorter amount of time we have." She nudged Duskwing gently, "come on, Duskwing. Let's get out of here so you can see those grandkids for yourself!"
Giantpaw followed Echomelody's lead and led his grandmother from the elder's den. He escorted her the surface and passed her off to cats who were outside before heading back down where Duskwing and Echomelody still were. "Is there anything else I can help with down here?" he asked, eyes flitting back to where he'd just come from. He wanted to get out of here so badly.
