Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Bluejay sat in the cold, the wind swept snow whirling around her in magical patterns. She was drop dead gorgeous, deadly black shades consumed her darkened pelt like the night pushing shadows forward. Her silvery tabby fur shimmered like pearls causing the off white rims of her stripes to seemingly shine. While she had long fur it was thinner, not thick and chunky like most WinterClan cats causing the cold to seep into her skin.
She didn't know how to go about telling him the truth of what she was before. It just didn't seem like the type of thing to introduce on a first date. But she wanted Snakefang to know, wanted him to love her anyways. Still the fear of him turning her away stuck onto her like how the cold burrowed deep into her skin. She never liked DayClan much or SunClan, really she didn't like any clan at all, but somehow WinterClan felt at home with Snakefang. This was a life she wanted to have with him if he would let her in, truth included.
"You out there somewhere?" She asked, her voice singing out into the open air. The tone of her voice was pleasing if not addictive to listen to.
Snakefang's fur itched with anxiousness as he made his way toward the designated meeting spot. He was finally able to see her again. Their first interaction was something new for the tom - a connection he had never felt with anyone else. It was strange, though. Something felt...majestic about the she-cat and kept him coming back to her. But that was not to say he didn't enjoy her presence. Maybe it was the fact that she was not of WinterClan and a metaphorical breath of fresh air? Or maybe it was plainly the mystery about her that compelled him? Perhaps both? He shook the questions from his head as the wind carried her voice across the landscape to him. It put him at ease and a rare smile crossed his face as more of her figure came into sight. "I'm right here, Bluejay," he responded, padding closer toward her.
"Hey tough guy," Bluejay purred. She rubbed her head into his chest, her fur kissing up against his. She pulled away for just a moment to admire his face before sweetly licking him close to the ear.
"Sit down with me, stay awhile," She said a tad jokingly before settling down with her head resting on his shoulder briefly. Her multi-colored gaze looked transfixed away from him for once, set on the horizon. Her features looked softer on this angle like clouds. Still, there was no avoiding the troubled look brewing in her eyes. Suddenly when she looked back at Snakefang her eyes didn't look so cloudy and parted like rays of sunshine filtering through grey skies, "Hey um, heh," She blushed a bit, a flustered feeling growing inside of her the more she stalled the topic at hand, "Do you like like me? In, y'know... For the long haul kind of a way?"
Snakefang returned her affections and nodded before sitting down. "Of course I will," he reassured her. He sat in silence admiring the sky before he got the sneaking suspicion something was off with her, her gaze was far off like she saw something in the distance. He was caught by surprise when she started to speak again and he turned his attention to her. Compared to previous encounters, she seemed like she was more vulnerable and open. It was a different look for her, one he could appreciate. He nodded. "Of course I do," he responded quickly as to not make it awkward between them. But he was curious as to why she asked. "What's the matter," he asked, his voice full of concern.
"My mother, Glowstar, she had this really bad mom who fed her herbs so she could never have kits. When she met my dad she asked the Sun God to bless her with a kit. He created me, I'm his angel fallen from grace. When I grew up I destroyed SunClan and DayClan's land with fire and then I tried to take over DayClan and kill Glowstar. Even though I'm a creation of the Sun God I'm a demon to those who hail him and I'm a demon to those who hate him. That's what I am, but I hope you can love me for who I am," Bluejay said, her green and gilded shaded gaze bored into Snakefang's with dread.
"Oh...," he said as he looked down and away, unsure to say in response to that. It was a lot of information to process. He wasn't distraught, excited, or angry; he didn't know how to feel about it Something told him he should be happy that she was being open and transparent with him. Another part of his way somewhat excited for the future possibilities...but then again, it was a tragic story. He couldn't imagine what it must have have been like for their family, to be a gift to some but to be disregarded and hated by others. When he was with her, she wasn't the evil thing cats thought her to be. He didn't even believe in the gods and spirits so it shouldn't matter if she was or wasn't. Destroyed SunClan and DayClan's land with fire and tried to murder her own mother? From how she made it sound, she was born to be an atrocious cat, but Snakefang believe in one thing: cats could change. Her past shouldn't define her. He looked back to her with a stern look on his face.
"Bluejay, can you answer a question for me? I want complete honesty."
"I can't imagine what you put others through, all this burning of land and murder attempts...are you still that kind of cat? I kn-...I mean are you still bent on destruction or are you..." his voice trailed off as he struggled to word the question right. It sounded so much more straightforward in his head. He was conflicted emotionally. He wanted to say he liked her either way but he didn't want to overlook what she had done. And what would his clan-mates think of his relationship with her? He was sure some of them would have heart about her from one of the prisoners. He didn't care what they thought of them. For once in his life, he felt something genuine for someone. "I want to accept you for who you are but I want to make sure you're not going to cause any more damage," managed to get out.
She looked at him eagerly as he fumbled over his words. She was hoping, waiting to see him lighten up. That maybe the conversation would turn around to something positive. For as much hate as she still had in her heart she didn't hesitate to reply, "That life is far behind me now. I can't say I feel any remorse, but moving forward I realize I'm not as vengeful as I thought I was. Since meeting you those feelings have all, but been eliminated. I don't feel trapped in SunClan and DayClan anymore because you've opened up a new world for me. I feel more free than I ever have knowing someone like you is in it. Besides, I'm not as powerful as I once was and even if I was I will always trust and listen to you, that I can promise."
Since the moment her story began it always felt like life had failed her. She was born with a violent nature, her mother being in the public eye locked her away in a two-leg building. She was a shameful secret to the family, resenting them for their so called kind hearts. For moons she grew up hating the world that locked her away, wanting them to pay. So when she was let out she wrecked havoc, destroyed, everything they locked her up for proven right. She went on a tirade because there was nothing else to her life or name. But here with Snakefang there was a life with him and being with him gave her a feeling of value. Even if her hatred hadn't changed her very outlook on life had been altered. There was no hunger for revenge any longer with Snakefang around.
He let out a sigh of relief; his worries were dispelled. He feared that she would say the exact opposite, but that wouldn't be the case. "I'm so glad to hear that." He rested his head against hers and smiled. He meant something to her and that made him happy. He broke away for a moment before asking his next question. "Did you, umm...want to move here with me?"
A streak of color faint and blushing spread across her cheeks at his touch. She moved into his warmth, listening to his words. They rolled around in her mind a few times, mauling it over carefully. "That would be lovely," She decided, a word she didn't use often, but in this moment felt right. DayClan and SunClan never felt like a home, everything there felt restrictive, more like a prison. Here with him she felt free, more alive than she ever had. "But I am really close with my immediate family so I won't join WinterClan today, but maybe in a few weeks so I have sometime to say goodbye?"
Her mother Glowstar was incredibly overbearing in the motherly sense. Her father lived farther away from DayClan, but she would want to let him know too.
She pressed a paw against his chest, "But hey, from daylight now till dawn you can have me now," She purred, licking him behind the ear.
"That's fair," he said somewhat disappointed. He was really looking forward to having her around from now on, but he could understand that it was something she had to do if she was going to make the move to a new territory. "A few weeks is all you get, then you're all mine," he purred as he embraced her. He had the day off so he would have the make the most of his time with her while he can.
