Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Ruinedportrait made a mad dash from the gathering place, she had hardly given herself a moment to rest, but she had to get out of there and fast. She had somewhat said goodbye to her brother and his friend, and though it wasn't forever she still struggles to fight back the tears that blurred her vision. She couldn't swallow past the lump in her throat either, and she didn't know why. Leaving shouldn't hurt this much, it wasn't even a real goodbye. She would see Beastrefrain when SwiftClan moved near the forest, with any luck Satin would have kitted by then and she could meet her nieces and or nephews.
The creamy-furred she-cat was so lost in her thoughts as she ran that she she didn't see the cat that she was running at, not until she had literally barreled into them, sending them both tumbling once, then twice before they stopped. She instinctively sprang away from them hissing not allowing herself to be dazed and confused by the suddenness of, whatever it was was that just happened. "You wanna watch where you're going?" she hissed angrily at the cat, even though the fault was entirely on her.
The ginger tom was aware of her approach but far too slow to react, and she slammed into his side without faltering. He grunted as he hit the ground hard, the wind knocked out of him as he rolled, as well as the prey in his jaws. The mouse was crushed beneath him and left bloody smears across his muzzle. Chim laid still for a moment, his sides heaving. Though his heart raced from the attack, he wasn't too concerned - too many moons of living in his clan had softened his instincts and he no longer automatically assumed he was in danger.
He climbed to his paws slowly and cast the other warrior an irritated look. "You're the one that ran into me," Chimerastar reminded her coldly, "so watch your tongue and your paws."
The sorrow she felt a moment ago dissipated quickly, replaced by a burning anger that make it easier to breathe and blink away her tears that she still hadn't shed. She looked concerned for only a millisecond at the sight of blood smeared across the tom's muzzle, only to shrug it off as soon as she noticed the crushed mouse. Her tail lashed once behind her. If there was one thing she hated more than anything it was a stranger telling her what to do, and based on his soft appearance she had a feeling she could handle this tom well enough if she needed.
"You watch your paws." she retorted, taking a step forward, only to wince slightly at the pain that radiated up her paw from the pressure she had put on it. "If you had been paying attention you could of moved out of my way."
Chim stared at her in open disbelief. No cat had been this flagrantly disrespectful toward him a long time, not since he'd become the deputy all those moons ago. The only other cat to come close was Evelyn, and he hated her with every fiber of his being, so it didn't come as a surprise from her. This was different. Did she not know who she was, or did she merely not care?
"Don't be ridiculous. Need I remind you this is my land you're on?" Technically, his clan did not place borders anymore, so other than the fresh scents of SwiftClan cats passing by there was little indication this was claimed territory at all. Chim no longer wasted time defending his land from peaceful travelers, but when they were this rude to him, he sometimes liked to conveniently forget that for the moment.
"Your land?" she echoed back at him, unable to keep the bite out of her tone. She took a set back, relieved to have the weight lifted off her injured paw. Chim would probably be able to see the gears turning in her head, and the exact moment that realization struck her. Her eyes lit up for just a second before they glazed over with annoyance once more. "I thought SwiftClan didn't have any borders?" she challenged sizing up the leader that stood before her.
He was caught, but he refused to let that annoyance show, other than the flaring of his whiskers. "So you know this is SwiftClan land," he suggested smoothly, "which means you came here intentionally." Chim stepped closer and inhaled her scent once more, his eyes narrowing. "Did your clan send you here to fetch back Dancingflame? She had duties to attend to here," he added sternly. The SunClan she-cat had been sent to him many moons ago and he was still not certain what she was telling her old clan, but he had a feeling they were still in communication.
Ruinedportrait instinctively stepped back when the leader stepped forward to breathe in her scent. She couldn't help that the fur along her spine fluffed up but, she did her best to force it to lie flat again. "Fetch who?" the confusion in her tone was genuine as she regarded the Swiftclan leader skeptically. "I wasn't sent here to fetch anybody." she retorted, recovering quickly from her momentary confusion. For all she knew this cat was trying to confuse her on purpose. Admittedly she knew next to nothing about the clan her litter-mate had run off to.
His eye narrowed. Was she lying to him? He couldn't see a reason why she would, but he didn't understand why she would be here otherwise. Was she just here to be rude and annoy him? Chim wouldn't put it past her, it was a common theme these days, but he doubted a stranger would be so interested.
"Well then... why are you her?" He asked reproachfully.
