Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
This place was strange. All these cats moved with a purpose the young tom had never seen before. Sure, in his first few moons of life Kvalun had his sister, Emris, and his mother, but his mother never really engaged with them. She did her own thing, and left the sibling to themselves. As kits do when left alone, the made their own games. None of them good ones by any standards, save for the kittens. At only three moons of age, they were riddled with cuts and scratches, all left untreated until their arrival. But, hey, play fighting was fun. And so was this.
Kvalun woke before his sister and shivered as he rose to his paws. Why did mother bring them here? Why not somewhere warmer? The charcoal Bengal sighed and looked over to his sleeping sister and smiled. With a pounce the tom landed on his sister's neck and unsheathed his claws.
Cinder approached the nursery, humming a little tune he remembered from his short life before WinterClan. It appeared that someone was already awake even though it was early because he heard sounds of movement from inside. "Good morning," he whispered from outside, hoping not to wake up a queen on accident. Cinder was learning quickly that being a prisoner was absolutely not the same as a student and with that, the tom was becoming more careful about not making other cats angry.
Kvalun's ears perked up at the sound coming from the nursery. Did he wake someone? What was going on?! The tom hopped off his sitstering in an instant, giving Emris a perfect opportunity to knock him to the ground with a thud. Her sister let out a hiss that sounded as bloodcurdling as a kit's hiss could be. It just barely had the edge the she-kit wanted, but it was enough to teach her brother a lesson. She clammered off him to gloat about the victory, but stopped when she saw that her brother was looking at the entrance to the den and the shadow dancing across it. Who saw them fight like that? Was it a queen? The snow Bengal's ears went flat as she sat down next to her brother. No point in doing anything but welcoming whoever this was.
That was funny. Cinder could have sworn he'd heard something. With a shrug, the large tom turned and went to leave the den. Perhaps he would get in trouble for pushing his task off, but cleaning the nursery wouldn't exactly be easy if the cats inside were sleeping. With his back turned, he couldn't see any eyes peering out through the entrance.
Emris's eyes lit up when she saw the cat walk away from the entrance. It wasn't a queen! She swatted her brother on more time for good measure, then returned her attention to the cat outside the den. Maybe he wanted to play? Much to her brother's dismay, Emris wiggled her haunches, and then launched herself out of the den after Cinder. She landed just behind him, and just nipped lightly at his ankles. Kvalun ran after his sister, and his jaw dropped when he saw what she decided to do.
Cinder let out a squeak when he felt a little nip. Turning, the prisoner laid eyes on a she-kit. It appeared someone was awake after all. "Well good morning to you, too," he purred, eyes traveling to the other kit who had run up behind her. "Little troublemaker, shouldn't you still be asleep?"
Wondering what he was going to do, Emris's blue eyes widened as he turned around, and she sighed with relief at his relaxed tone and purr. The kitten did not understand every word he said, but she thought that she understood the gist. "No. I wanted have fun."
