Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Tinymutiny, I've got to show you something, but you have to keep your eyes closed until we get there. I promise it'll be worth your while!"
Oakshade's scent was... off. Sweet, tasty. As if he wasn't suspicious enough, he wore a simple white boutonnière pinned to the thick fur around his neck as well as the goofiest smile. The large brown-and-white tom was terrible at secrets. Even a complete stranger would guess he was up to something, "Now, hold still for just a moment..."
He lifted a crown, made with flowers identical to the ones on his neck, up to his mate's head. It had a ribbon on one side to serve as the blindfold. Unfortuantely, unbeknownst to Tinymutiny, there was quite a lot of territory to cover before they reached their destination. It would have definitely served them both better if he had waited until they were closer to the surprise before applying it.

Tiinymutiny slowly opened her eyes, having fallen asleep in her nest whilst Oak had been preparing. Even though she wasn't even half-way through her pregnancy she looked like she was due at any time. Her belly had become uncomfortably heavy and swollen from the kits that she was carrying. Even though she was determined to be independent, everything had become far harder lately. Even just getting to her paws to fetch herself food had become quite the chore. She slept far more often now, though when she was awake is was always a guessing game as to what kind of mood she would be in. She went through waves of anger, hysteria, and weeping quicker than most cats could catch a mouse. The hormones wreaking havok on her emotions. Just the week before she had made one of the apprentices flee the nursery in terror after she jabbed a thorn they had missed in her moss into their paw out of spite. Tinymutiny was difficult to handle even the best of times, and this pregnancy had only drawn out and exaggerated her unfavorable qualities to a new extreme.
Luckily for Oakshade, she was more worried about sleep in this moment than trying to figure out his antics "Oakshade...." she murmerd curling back into an overly round ball, but not shaking the crown off immediately "maybe after a nap... "
"But there's no time, my love, this is a now-or-never kind of surprise." It was a gamble to try and rouse her from a nap, that was for sure, but Oakshade felt like he could deal with either Tinymutiny he got right now. Sassy or friendly. Upset or happy. When she was sleepy her reactions were a little delayed and that was all the edge he would need to get her out the door, "Come on, come on, you can lean on me if you want. It's not really all that far."
She was just so full of life, literally. He actually wanted her pelt to brush up against his, feel her bulge against his side, it made him feel all warm and tingly, "You are so beautiful right now, I really can't believe it."

Instead of rising from her position, she rolled onto her back reaching upwards wrapping her paws around his neck only to pull him in closer to whisper in his ear "Mmm, then why not just join me for my nap" her tail wrapped around his back leg, snaking its way upwards to tickle the soft fur of his underbelly. She gazed into his eyes pulling him ever closer until she could fell the fur of his belly brushing against hers, the kits inside wiggling in protest at the sudden move in position. Even walking to the fresh kill pile was becoming difficult at this point, and the thought of walking even short distances out of camp was rather... unappealing "My fur is already a mess, might as well make it worse" she winked
Oakshade paled. You could say that she had him wrapped right around her claw. His favorite pass time was cuddling and lately she wouldn't let him get too close, she was way too hormonal and he didn't have a death wish, but now she was inviting him. A rarity. How in the world could he say no? He melted at her touch and very nearly slipped into the nest right then and there. His belly fur brushed the sandstone floor and his upper torso hovered above his mate's bulging frame. He remembered just in time his mission, however, and made up for his momentarily lack of self-restraint by grooming her. Tinymutiny didn't seem very 'messy' to him but it was a good cover.
"No, I insist, we've got to get going," If he told her cats were waiting on them, then she definitely wouldn't come. His earlier gamble had paid off, maybe this one would, too, regardless he had to talk about something else or she really would win, "Gotta go now while the food is still warm. Trust me, you don't want to miss out on this..."

Tinymutiny closed her eyes, purring as he melted into her embrace and began to groom the fur around her face. She had almost drifted back to sleep, but feeling him tense and pull away she blinked in surprise. Apparently whatever he had planned was more exciting than spending the afternoon curled into one another's embrace, she sighed unhappy about the turn of events and lack of physical contact "Fine, fine" she muttered as she tried to pull herself upwards but just succeeded in rolling from side to side helplessly, her overly large stomach hindering her progress "Well don't just stare, help me up if you are in such a hurry" even if the thought of eating was rather unappealing, she decided to humor him. Whatever he was up to, he had clearly put a lot of effort into it. Perhaps he was throwing himself into this whole pregnancy thing because of the loss of his sister, but she had to admit that it was all rather sweet when she was more herself anyway. and as much as she didn't want to admit it, at this point she was grateful for the extra help. With the morning sickness, extra weight, and raging hormones she needed every bit of help that she could get.
Oakshade acted on the silver queen's request immediately and put his head beneath her chest, gently pushing upwards. It wasn't the smartest way to help a cat to her feet but it was certainly the one that resulted in the most fur-on-fur contact. He'd take every chance he could get to earn a couple extra snuggles, even if he was in a hurry, "Have you been sleeping all day? You know that if you sleep too much it makes you even more tired once you finally get up." It was nervous talk, not very romantic, but silence was deafening and he wanted to save his best lines for when they got to the party.
Oakshade had Tinymutiny leaning against his side now, still blindfolded, but at least they were vertical now. Her body was so, so warm against his flank, even in the extreme heat of the summer nothing in the world could tear the two of them apart. A deep purr rumbled in the back of his throat as he licked Tinymutiny's neck, grooming away at an unruly tuft of bed-head, "But you know what? I think it's all okay, you deserve all the rest you can get, you are growing little miracles after all. Now... if you would follow me..."

"Well what else am I supposed to do all day when I can't even leaver the nursery without an escort" she snorted, testing out her legs now that they were underneath her once again. They were stiff and sore, but Oak tended to panic and not even let her do the most basics of tasks for herself. Even if he was having to dodge rocks while doing so. Tinymutiny stumbled forward, her center of gravity still far off the mark from the extra weight that would swing from one side of her body to the other with every step. She blew the veil upwards trying to get it out of her eyes "No way Im walking through those tunnels blind" her ears flickering backwards
"You don't have to walk much, I'm big enough to carry you," Oakshade purred, lowering himself to the ground. Even with his belly fur brushing the sandstone he was nearly Tinymutiny's height as it was. They really were an odd couple in that sense and the size difference made him nervous for the kits inside of her. What if they were all going to be big like him? Could she even give birth to a kit that big? He'd just have to have faith in the Sun God, he was still iffy about his new deity but was pretty sure if he could insure a smooth pregnancy he would be able to help with the delivery, "Oh, uh, if you want, anyway. This whole day is about you so whatever makes you most comfortable. We are going, though."

"You are not going to carry me like a kit" she replied, lifting a paw and flipping the veil upwards "If I can't walk there I won't go" she reassured him with a firm glare. Oakshade would know by now that if her pushed her to far he would be greeted with a flurry of claws and hisses. She shouldered past him walking towards the tunnels, assuming that it wasn't in camp. Her sides swinging from one side to the other dramatically
