Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Autumngossamer walked beside Bloodyrondo, staying in pace with him. He had lost his mate, she couldn't even imagine, never imagined. She had endangered Lovesmitten's life twice by testing the Sun God, yet somehow it was Bloodyrondo that lost his mate and it wasn't to anyone, it was just to life. Suddenly she broke the tension and brushed up closer to him, "Bloody, I just want-"
She paused and halted him with her. She had taken him to go on a border patrol, but suddenly she could hear the sounds of something big coming towards them. At first she thought it was a cat, but now that it was closer she could tell clear as day it was a fox.
It was hard to imagine that these two cats could be friends at all when they very much ideological opposites. While Bloodyrondo fervently worshipped the Sun God and quoted the code at every chance, Autumngossamer imprisoned the deity and bullied him into submission. Of course, the Priest Promised did not know this, but he wouldn't be surprised, he knew how the Soothsayer was and had somehow grown to accept it. He could count his friends on one paw and would hold this one close, even if it meant overlooking what should be deal-breakers. She was worth it.
"Don't." Bloodyrondo said as he felt his pelt brush up against hers. It was a familiar routine, he knew how this went, I'm so sorry for your loss, Bloody, is there anything I can do to help you? They all said something like that and he was sick of it. The last cat he had expected to hear it from was Autumngossamer, he thought after the loss of her kits that she would know how empty those words felt. It was funny, actually, he had said the very same words to her...
Bloodyrondo stumbled when he felt Autumngossamer tense at his side, triggering a quick survey of the area. Upon noticing the fox, his pelt bristled and her pinned his ears to his skull, a threatening growl clawing its way out of his throat. It was a guttural, primal sound. Even though the fox hadn't done anything yet, he just couldn't wait to tear limb from limb, turn his depression into rage and vent out all those frustrations on the intruder. A smaller part of him knew he was no match for a fox but his voice of reason drowned in the river with Satinlights, "Autumngossamer, get back. I'll handle this."
"Wait, I have an idea," Autumngossamer said picking up a rock, her claws eagerly scratching into it a rune pattern, "I can predict things seconds away from happening with this. It's not very far into the future, but in a fight it can mean a big difference. Go and attack, but trust me if I tell you to do something different."
After cursing the Sun God her element had transformed. The control was at her claw tips, pulsating with power, whispering to her in sweet temptations use me. Before she reached out for the power of the sun, struggled to harness it's wrathful flow, burned by the nature of its fury. Now she felt the power pumping in her heart, seeping down her veins. The very nature of her abilities like nothing she had ever felt before. Screw following the rules, Dragonswrath and all the other soothsayers never had the connection she had. No one ever got mouse dung for doing what they were told, but this was something new. This was dangerous to everyone including herself, but she held onto the instability of it like a weapon. If this newfound power was like a blade she held the pointed end close to her chest because she liked the way it stung.
She knew Bloodyrondo wouldn't approve, they really were destined to be enemies someday. She wished she could tell him she did this for him, for the cats he loved, but he would never understand. So she just had to hope he would remember days like this. Remember her for these rose colored memories and not the grey future ahead.
The fox stared down the two of them, considering its odds at taking both down. "Two steps back," Autumngossamer interjected. Quick as lightning the fox lunged for Bloodyrondo for his bigger size, its jaws snapping at his face, Autumngossamer's words just barely able to slip out in time."
Bloodyrondo was resistant to doing what anyone told him to do. Part of it was his pride but mostly it was his ego; as Priest Promised, the only two cats he had to listen to were the High Priestess and the Sun God. But Autumngossamer was not only his friend but also the Soothsayer. He believed what she said. So, after just a second's hesitation, he took those two steps back, avoiding the fox's lunge by little more than a hair. His eyes widened and then narrowed.
Since the fox's head was still low, it left Bloodyrondo a great opportunity to counter. He raked across the fox's throat with unsheathed claws and a smile broke across his face, the first in the past moon, as he felt its life burn against his paw-pads. Blood. He'd been named after that stuff and frequently used it in his body paints. The idea of using fox blood - predator, not prey as usual - thrilled him. Of course, he needed to kill it first.
Wound inflicted, Bloodyrondo leapt to the side before the fox had a chance to react to his attack, and turned his head slightly toward Autumngossamer, "What next?"
Autumngossamer's eyes widened, clearly seeing something odd, but whatever it was she chose to ignore it, "Bite its face, don't worry about the jaws."
But just as she said it there was a large crashing sound behind them. The fox was instantly spooked, but if anything wanted to kill its next meal and move on and instead went unexpectantly for Bloodyrondo's face. He could hear the audible stiffened gasp as Autumngossamer could barely even move a paw before the foxes breath was already hot against Bloodyrondo's face. But before the foxes jaws could connect Leucisticcrow was on the fox, his entire body slamming into its side, pushing it clear and far. He looked like he was about to chase it off, but when he turned to look at the two SunClan cats he could see that they were focused on defeating it so instead he tackle the fox once more. This time his jaw sinking into the foxes neck to try and hold it down, but he needed Bloodyrondo to come in to finish it off. The fox was close to kicking Leucisticcrow off at this point.
"Don't worry about the jaws?!" Bloodyrondo spat out in protest just as the beast lunged at his face. He saw his whole life flash before his eyes as the fox's maw brushed against his whiskers. He opened his mouse, barring his fangs right back at it, but there was nothing more he could do, no time to dodge or parry.
Just when he thought it was all over, though, there came his knight in shining armor. Leucisticcrow. He wasn't sure why he was so drawn to the DayClan tom, probably because he had sworn loyalty to him back in his Everlastingfire days, plus there was that weird bet they'd made, but other than that? Hard to say. They weren't friends or enemies. But today he was his savior.
As soon as he saw the opening Luc had made, Bloody took it, slamming his paw into the predator's snout to hold it down and then digging his other paw right into the wound he had started earlier. He found the carotid artery and wasted no time ripping it open, splattering himself with blood and purring all the while, loving not only the feeling of victory, but how warm he felt. He was bathing in it.
Leucisticcrow shook out his fur from the blood splatter before noticing Bloodyrondo taking pleasure in the warm substance. He grinned and flicked his bloody paw at him playfully, "You're so weird," He laughed in a good natured tone.
Autumngossamer rushed over to Bloodyrondo, he could barely catch a glimpse at the tears brimming in her eyes. She looked at him for a moment, but no words came out and instead she quickly embraced him, "I'm so sorry! I was so scared..." She pulled back from him, "I-" She looked frazzled, her pelt was standing upright, "I look at the most likely scenario because fate is loose, nothing is promised and Leucisticcrow didn't look like the most likely situation. I failed you, I'm so sorry Bloody." This time he could see the tears in her eyes. He was her closest friend in SunClan and she nearly got him killed. They had differing opinions, but if anything that just proved how genuinely fond of him she was no matter how absurd his beliefs were.
Leucisticcrow looked at the fox before licking off the blood on the side of Bloodyrondo's head, "See you around little boss man," He said, a light German accent slipping past his lips, one that came and went even though Leucistic would rather it left.
Leucisticcrow stalked away from DayClan, happy to be free from his own patrol that he had been leading. Since becoming Snowthorn's Maverick he had been like a stray dog on a tight leash. He had to be well mannered with a positive DayClan attitude, that alone was killing him inside. But ever since someone spotted him talking to Bloodyrondo and Autumngossamer, Snowthorn had made his life hell. Now he couldn't go anywhere without a warrior present and if he wanted to leave DayClan to go to Primal Instinct he had to ask Snowthorn for permission. Worse of all was that he actually asked him because he didn't want to be punished a second time. Like what kind of sicko doesn't punish their disobedient maverick with claws!? This was so inhumane, he wished he had the pleasure of being injured than this.
He was getting farther and farther away from his patrol, but when he began to hear them looking for him he quickly dove further into the apple orchard. Picking up an apple he could feel the sweet taste of the juice in his mouth as he walked across the border and onto SunClan. Maybe he could just wait DayClan out and enjoy his snack in SunClan. The sun was going down so naturally not as many SunClan cats would be patrolling, they feared darkness or... Something. Walking a few fox lengths into SunClan's territory he knelt down by a tree and began eating his apple peacefully.
Bloodyrondo hovered by the DayClan border more than any other these days. That Clan had been his escape for many moons, but he didn't dare to cross the border now, knowing that powerful enemies were sharpening their claws and pointing them at him somewhere within the wheat fields. He was kind of happy to see Leucisticcrow cross the border. Back when he was Everlastingfire, the two had been close, and every now and again he would catch up with the tom. Presently it had been a couple moons since they last spoke.
"Don't eat the seeds, it'll make you sick," He said as he approached his black-furred friend, "Although maybe that's exactly what you are after, what with your that weird obsession of yours..." Bloodyrondo chuckled, "I'm sure you'd love to be sitting where I am right now. I've made a lot of enemies since we last spoke and I'm pretty sure each one of them wishes me a long and drawn out death."
Leucisticcrow lifted his head to see Bloodyrondo, "Hey, little boss man," He said, his smile shifting into a genuine contagious grin as he did, "Really, a drawn out death? You're so successful now! I'm pretty lazy, if I just put my mind to it I could cause some real mayhem, but I'd rather just sleep all day. I've been more responsible than ever though, with Snowthorn breathing down my neck. I have to act kind and be helpful," He shivered.
He did spit out the seeds though, they were too deadly, his mate would kill him if he died.
Finishing the apple he cleaned himself with his tongue to get the stickiness off of his paws. Being the oldest cousin and sibling of the entire family he liked to look out for all members of his family. For Bloody it started with him looking out for his bosses son, but now with Funk marrying his mom soon they would be actual brothers. "Am I free to go Priest Bloody or do I have a horrid price to pay for invading your sacred lands a second time?" He asked, his gaze relaxed as though he were playing pretend with a child. Although even with his calm demeanor it was hardly condescending so much as it was his nature to treat everything like it was a game.
"Don't call me that..." Bloodyrondo responded first to the pet name Lucistic had for him, he said the same complaint every time but had not yet seen improvement, "... Anyway. Technically I should drag you back to camp and force you to Initiate, but I think I'll let it go this time. It's not like I can force you to stay anywhere you don't want to be for very long," Bloodyrondo always made exceptions to the rules for his friends, otherwise he'd have very few. Besides, he was well aware that, for Leucisticcrow, no punishment was more effective than a punishment, "But yeah, not sure if I'd call being wanted dead a success. It makes me sick knowing how many of them are sitting in DayClan right now. What have they been saying about me? Plotting anything?"
Leucisticcrow listened, his gaze turning away at the mention of being dragged away for initiation. His sister had gone to SunClan to be an initiate, but he couldn't imagine anything more humiliating for a demon element. Pledging your life to a God and then to every generation of priest afterwards. That's what happened to his mom, serving ten nemesis's beck and call for years, chained to her rank. Hearing Bloodyrondo say that he didn't have to made his tail wag as he continued on with his snack.
"Yeah, Foxbane and Funk E'tan talk a bit about plans to end you, but my mom always knocks every idea down. There's a lot of emotional distress about you, people missing their families locked away back home. Apprentices scarred for life by witnessing their leader get thrown around like a mossball. I guess clan cats don't witness their leaders get beat down often or something? It's pretty common in the league. Why are you worried sick about it? Don't you have like, I don't know, a million guards or something? I mean how many assassination attempts have you had?"
"I've had maybe two assassination attempts?" Bloodystar replied without thinking, it was easy to talk to Lucistic for some reason. He knew it wasn't wise to reveal this much to an outsider but this black-furred tom didn't feel like one, "I'm not worried about individual attempts, but I am worried about a war. The deserters have every reason to want to infiltrate SunClan and know the territory well enough to do it..." His tail-tip twitched back and forth as he ran multiple scenarios of what an invasion of SunClan would look like. He'd never seen one. No group had had the guts to challenge the strongest, largest Clan in all of the forests, but that was when they still had support of the Sun God, and, as much as he hated to admit it, fear of Foxbane, "... It's just a lot of think about. Always on my mind. And you have insider knowledge."
Leucisticcrow scratched the side of his face with his back leg as he listened before sitting up right with a perky expression, "Are you asking me to spy from now on?"
His eyes were practically glowing with amusement like Bloodystar were a small child asking him to spy on his parents, which he kind of was. He thought it over for a few moments or maybe pretended to, "I'll keep my eyes open, but if you want me on your team, I want a trade. When Azura's ready, she'll come back to DayClan and you can have me in return. That means no killing her on sight just because she left and no stealing her back after the fact."
A trade? Bloodystar liked to have his cake and eat it too, he didn't want to give up anything, much less his dear friend Azura. She wasn't in a good place right now, and he was working diligently to show her that the light of the Sun God could help her through it. From a tactical standpoint, though, it was easy to pick Leucisticcrow over the she-cat. While they were both strong, he was clearly stronger and much easier to manage. He trusted the tom's words too.
"Azura won't leave SunClan," Bloodystar replied after a few seconds of mulling it all over, "But I suppose if she does, all I have to do is convince her to come back... and if it's her own will, then surely our deal will still stand? So sure, I'll agree."
He didn't mean to say his loophole out loud like that, but for as much as he respected Luc's battle prowess, he underestimated his intelligence. He could show all his cards and feel fine about it. Which was honestly quite dumb of him, given that the cat he was talking to literally just agreed to spy on his own Clan without any promises that he wouldn't do the same to SunClan.
Leucisticcrow stuck out his paw, shaking it once, but his claws gripped onto Bloodyrondo, no bloody, but there was a hold he couldn't escape, "Do not pressure her. If I find out she anyone attempted to degrade her or her skill, make her feel helpless enough to come back the deals off. I'm protective of you because you'll be more than my bosses son soon, you'll be my brother. But I'm protective as her as I am you, so take the the threat as a compliment of what I'd say to someone else if they bothered you."
He let go, the out of ordinary sternness vanishing. "There really is nothing new to report though. Same enemies want you dead, although Foxbane almost seems dead inside, like her sanity is leaving her. She seems more soulless everyday."
