Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Arcticpaw routinely came to DayClan, she was the daughter of Littlestar, leader of SunClan. Maybe that’s why no one got in her way or told her to go away. DayClan was a neutral territory, they allowed outsiders to cross their borders so long as they didn’t cause trouble. But Arcticpaw always went straight into DayClan’s camp and would stare at the tadpoles swirling in the pond for hours. Most SunClan cats were pious and self centered so it always felt like she was flaunting that she could could step into their camp and do what she liked
Typically Arcticpaw would sit by the pond, walk around DayClan’s camp spreading SunClan scent everywhere and then return back to the pond. She would do this repeatedly throughout the hours. This time though she just lied down at the pond, her shoulders heaving every now and again, but soon she broke into tears crying softly into her paws.
Divinepaw's face reflected into the water next to Arcticpaw's heaving shoulders. As usual, she wore no smile, although her expression was friendly enough. She was careful not to brush up against the SunClan she-cat's pelt as she made herself comfortable next to the water's edge. In the process she knocked a couple of pebbles loose which rolled down the short bank and fell into the pond with a ghost of a plop! The tadpoles close to the surface spun around in circles, "Funny little things, tadpoles." She remarked after dropping a fresh-killed mouse, plump from DayClan's wheat, between herself and Arcticpaw, "Want a bite?"
Arcticpaw's fur raised slowly at the sound as her whole body stiffened, but calmed just as slowly realizing it as a DayClan cat. Instinctively she wanted to inform her that she was ruining the pond, but Arcticpaw knew she was hardly watching, but rather staring into space behind her blurry tears. "Food tastes weird when I'm crying," Arcticpaw said, her claws threading through her long fur, removing loose pieces of fur. "My sister died. I'm just scared, I wonder where I'll go when I'm dead."
"I'm very sorry to hear about your sister," Divinepaw said as she carefully drew her claw down the mouse's corpse. If Arcticpaw didn't want to have any, that was fine and good, but perhaps if she cut it into smaller fur-free pieces, the SunClan she-cat would be more enticed. It was sort of silly on the surface but Divinepaw's goal wasn't so much feeding this sad apprentice as it was getting her to open up more, "But you shouldn't worry so much about your own mortality. I don't really know a lot about the SunClan afterlife, but in DayClan we honor StarClan, which is where the spirits of our ancestors reside after death. There's no hunger or pain there and you get to spend all of your days with family you know as well as family you did not know." She finished her dissection and put a bite size piece on a particularly flat stone beside Arcticspaw's paw, "I wish I knew how to season the prey like the Cooks do, but at least I know how to cut them up just right. I promise you'll never have had a mouse quite so tasty."
Arcticpaw wiped at her tears, "Some people have said they've seen the Isles, it's just scary... Leaving and never coming back," She sniffed.
Divinepaw was telling her to eat the mouse, it wasn't time to eat, but sometimes you had to eat extra to give you strength, it was the exception to the rule. "Okay, I hope you didn't put anything in it, I'm always afraid of that. It's never happened to me, but I see it happen to other people so I wonder if maybe it's happened to me and I've never noticed." She explained as she ate at the mouse. "It's really hard going home and seeing everyone look so sad. It gets harder to go back home everyday I come here, it's hard to see my family like this..."
