Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Gingersnap was a Janus, but she still didn’t feel like an adult, but Discordantmelody was! Discordantmelody always walked around like she knew everything, this bugged some cats, but it was comforting to Gingersnap. This was precisely why she invited her to the Janus den. Most cats weren’t allowed inside, but she needed multiple cats for experimentation so this would just be a worthy exception.
Inside the Janus Den in the experimentation room was Harvestpaw sitting down beside Gingersnap.
“Hi Discordantmelody, thanks for coming,” Gingersnap purred, “This is my little brother Harvestpaw, he’s basically five moons old, but is already an apprentice, but he has a special gift from the Sun God where he can’t die. So I want to experiment on him a bit, but this seems a little dangerous so I just felt safer having you around because you know so much!”
Harvestpaw smiled at Discordantmelody, “Hi,” He greeted politely with a bow of his head.
Discordantmelody had been in the Janus camp only once before as an apprentice. She had been promptly caught and punished. It hadn't been worth it at all, especially when she realized all that was back here were more caves; thus, she had never bothered to try and worm her way into these chambers since. Nonetheless she eagerly accepted Gingersnap's invitation. She was happy she had when she laid eyes on SunClan's version of the-boy-who-lived.
"A gift from the Sun God, huh..." Discordantmelody didn't know her deity personally but most every "gift" she had known him to offer turned out to be curses, "I don't see why our dear God would bless a little fur-ball like this with such power, but I suppose being unable to die and being truly immortal are not necessarily the same things. I would love you help you and your tests." She bowed her head to Ginersnap, perhaps a touch too dramatically, "I am always at my Janus's service, after all." She then nodded to Harvestpaw, too, and replied to his greeting with the same tone he had used,"Hey."
Gingersnap walked over to the side of the interrogation room and pulled free an odd invention. It was a willow stick that was woven in a circle, but extended out linear to one another at the end. In the circle was barbed wire, collected from hunter traps.
"This one, doesn't hurt unless the victim struggles, but I want to make sure it's adjustable. The victim needs that feeling of false safety so they have the illusion they're in control. When a victim becomes too helpless their brains just turn to mush and they're this sobbing sad broken mess, which just isn't useful," She explained.
Gingersnap gripped onto one side of the stick, "Discordantmelody, could you grab the other side of the stick and we'll widen it so it can close around Harvestpaw's neck. We'll pin it up to the wall and see if he's able to break free."
Harvestpaw walked over closer to them, given his smaller size it would be a good test to determine if it could be full adjusted or not.
"And he's okay with this?" Discordantmelody regretted that she had even bothered to ask; already she had grasped the other side of the strange willow contraption and was fashioning it around the apprentice's neck. She hardly even participated in experiments like this seeing as it took a lot of planning and she didn't have the patience for it. Thankfully she was just the assistant this time around and Gingersnap lead the charge, "Okay, my side is in place. Let me know when to let go."
