This is the day that the Sun is the highest point in the sky, and one to give thanks and praise to the Sun for it's light. The clan wakes up at sunrise on the Summer Solstice to watch the Sun's movement throughout the day until the sun sets in the evening. This is a day SunClan feels particularly strong. They go outside together, paying tribute to their ancestors, who are visible and can converse with the living on this one day at the Burial Grounds. The Clan also holds dances, where the clan paints their bodies and reenacts key moments in SunClan’s history, holds contests, and the Janus tell stories of the clan’s past as they share tongues at an evening feast. However, not all the members of SunClan are able to stay up from sunrise and sunset and start to fall asleep before the sun falls below the horizon.
However, SunClan's celebration soon turns into a nightmare, for no one that has fallen asleep is able to wake, no matter how much pestering, tricks, or pestering is done to them. Can the sleep deprived cats of SunClan manage to stay awake long enough to wake up their slumbering Clan-mates? Can they solve the mystery before it is to late? I think it is time that we find out....

Foxbane hadn't been called to assist with the kitting. Which, all in all, was a good sign, that meant it had gone especially well if even Mountainsound hadn't been involved. Though the ex-Priestess was admittedly a little antsy to see her adopted daughter. The Senator had been a little bit on edge for a long while now, and for as much of a hard time as she gave the leader, she would to anything to keep her safe. It was unusual, though, that she'd hadn't joined the festivities. Considering the situation, it wasn't surprising that she didn't want to take part, but the fox-furred feline felt as though she perhaps should have heard something about the she-cat's state by now.
Which was what brought her up to Littlestar's den. There were few, even now, who would truly stop her from coming up here, and she slipped into the room in silence, peering at the she-cat's sleeping frame, six kits that seemed healthy enough at a first glance squirming quietly at her belly. It seemed that the stress had caught up to Littlestar. Foxbane debated letting her sleep, though with the festivities going on, she supposed she should at least try to wake the she-cat, see if she wanted to excuse herself so cats weren't waiting around for her presence.
Romancefable: Even with everything that happened not to long ago on the night of truth and dare, Romacefable hadn't been dissuaded from his courtship of Azura. If anything, Glowstar's threats had only solidfied in his mind that he was on the right path. After all, when had a hero ever been thwarted by an evil step mother? Well real mother in this case, but that same concept applied. Glowstar was just an bump in the road for him to overcome. He had went out and caught a koi, absolutly ecstatic that he would be able to bring something back for her that would remind her of home! He had heard stories about the koi pond in DayClan, not that he had ever seen it or paid much attention.... BUT he really really wanted to impress her, and having such a large catch to share with her was sure to do just that! He had also brought along his white rose, putting the stem into the fishes mouth to make it easier to carry both of them. THe more she shreded the roses he brought to her, the more he was determined to find them for her. stardance
Bloodyrondo was not participating in the festivities. Instead, he was at Satinlights's freshly dug grave. He had decorated it with every blue thing he could find - flowers, butterflies, berries - although none them captured even a fraction of his deceased mate's beautiful eyes. Regardless, the Priest Promised had poured all of his heart into making this place resplendent, and he had succeeded. Even in a field of gorgeous sunflowers this place as special, ethereal. The same could not be said about his own appearance, though.
The Priest Promised's body paint was simple and sparse, no fancy glitter, no beetle wings. Just a blood red sun on his forehead and a few simple streaks on his forepaws. Not his style at all, but then again he really wasn't himself. Bloodyrondo hadn't eaten a bite since Satinlights fell into the river and it was just starting to show. Lusterless fur, sunken eyes. He was a mess but turned away any cat who offered him a shoulder. He'd rather do this alone. Grieving. Bloodyrondo was a tom who built his image on being strong, confident, the kind of cat who wouldn't and couldn't show any weakness. With Satinlights gone, his steadfast reputation was all he had left... and if he didn't have that? Maybe he really would be better off joining his mate in the river...

LIONPRIDE Satinlight's death had hit his family hard... So much death in such a small time frame. His mate was gone, most of the litter she had carried was gone, and now the sister who had managed to help him out out of his depression. If their was one cat who understood what he was going through it was Lionpride, their situations mirrored in nearly every aspect but one. Lionpride had something to keep living for, his two kits that had survived and a certain she-cat that he was growing more fond of by the day. Instead of attending the feast, he had left going to where he knew he would find the tom. He didn't speak as he approached, simply placing a blue gem and bird feather down at the roots of the sunflower. He bowed his head, eyes closed. His mouth moving in a silent prayer for the Sun God to guide his sister's soul. Bloodyrondo probably didn't want to see him, so he didn't try to engage with him. Just simply being there in the moment in a silent show of support. No words could heal a broken heart. Jadie

Senescence was perhaps the last cat Bloodyrondo wanted to see, or very near to it. Technically, she wasn't allowed to participate in the festivities, so she didn't particularly bother with them, perhaps she'd crash it later. In similarity to both Lionpride and the Promised, she too had lost her mate. Though, in her case, she had been the expecting one at the time, and her mate had died by her own paws, because she'd been given no choice, though the cats here wouldn't know that.
All the same, she slipped over where the two toms stood, her steps silent, though at the last moment, her tail whispered against the sunflowers, giving away the presence of yet another. "Sitting here for eternity isn't going to help you." Her voice was it's same bored drawl, but unlike usual, it lacked the same entirely uninterested tint to it, as if, perhaps, just maybe, there was a drop of sympathy to it for a fraction of a second. Which, for the initiate, was exceptionally warm.
Oakshade was a social butterfly to be sure. Despite the fact that last moon SunClan had murdered his sister, Cypressblaze, he had been able to bounce back pretty quickly through a mixture of sheer willpower and joy. After all, Tinymutiny was really ballooning up. Her small frame did her no favors even though she really wasn't that far in her pregnancy, "Tinypaw, you have got to try this!" Every once in awhile he would slip up and call her by her apprentice name; he couldn't help it. He nosed a rabbit leg that had been stuffed with some sort of raspberry ganache, "I didn't know prey could taste so good!" racer
Wolfpaw's size betrayed him yet again. He had been casted as the baby Sun God in some ancient practical joke that somehow become a legend, "I hate you, Moon Goddess. I thought we agreed that neither of us would pick a mortal name. You have betrayed our kind." The golden tom knew he was supposed to en in exclamation but he was too bored to bother. No one was really watching them anyway. (OPEN)
Discordantmelody was on the dance floor, radiant as always, she had painted herself with gorgeous flames of turqoise and royal blue. She knew it was against the rules but Littlestar wasn't here and Bloodyrondo was sobbing himself to sleep. Surely no one would call her out on it now. She did a cat-version of a pirouette and and found herself face to face with another cat, "Care to dance?" Her claws were unsheathed as she suggested it; whoever her partner was, odds were they would be walking away with a scratch or two. (OPEN)
Caramelcream had eaten copious amounts of food. That and a combinations of tranquilizers fed to her by her mother had knocked her out cold. Many young kits surrounded her; her fluffy, pillow-like fur was idea for naps, although not all were asleep. (OPEN)
Twilightkit chose to lay next to Caramelcream because she was a natural detterent. He didn't care of parties and, besides, as mature as he was he was still just a kit. He wouldn't be able to be awake much longer... (OPEN)
Bloodyrondo bristled as the other tom approached although, when he realized who it was, he forced his fur flat. Lionpride. He had mixed feelings on this tom. He had always proved himself a loyal SunClan Warrior and was Satinlights' brother; however, he was also the one who nearly killed her moons ago in a fit of rage. The toms rarely spoke before that event and even less afterwards, but the Priest Promised knew that their hurt was one in the same. He could allow him to stay.
But Senescence? Definitely not.
The she-cat would forever be an unwelcome outsider. She didn't listen to anyone, hadn't even taken an initiate name, and had her paws in two other groups. Worst of all, was that she dared approached the grave of Satinlights, a cat that she did not even know, when the earth was still raw from her burial.
"Thanks for the advise, Glowstar." He growled, his voice laden with sarcasm, "Leave before you kill the flowers." His voice broke slightly at the end and he turned away from both cats. He struggled to breath evenly as he choked back sobs. He regained control pretty quickly, but did not turn back to face Sen. racerHoneystorm

Tinymutiny Even Tinymutiny couldn't deny her pregnancy now... Even though she couldn't be that far along, her belly was already heavy and swollen, sticking at and weird angles with her every move. She was plagued with exhaustion and morning sickness, and hating every moment of it. She despised being babied, feeling helpless, and most of all the way he clan-mate's looked at her. It was all of the things that she had looked down upon growing up, it was showing weakness... and being weak would get you killed. So why was it that as miserable as she felt, that she still found it within her to smile? Perhaps in part it was that doopey looking smile of his, but mostly it was that everything seemed to be falling into place for the better. Oakshade was safely initiated into SunClan, they were starting a family together, and even though she still had a lot of doubts it seemed that her mother had been trying to make amends. Tinymutiny dipped her head down to sniff as the prey he had passed to her, but the strong scent was nearly overwhelming as she felt her stomach churn. She lifted it once more, slowly pushing back towards him "Maybe later" but once it was out of her face she did lift her paw and lick the juice that had made it's way there when she had pushed it away "It is tasty" she admitted, but the thought of eating made her nautious. She had been going through phases of not wanting to eat for extended periods of time, and other where it seemed near impossible to curb her cravings. "You're not even trying with that insult." The Proxy answered blandly. Suddenly, a piercing pain ripped through Bloodyrondo's ear, but by the time he'd turn to retaliate, Senescence was already walking away. "I'd say it's harder to get rid of me, but I think I'm going to take a nap, besides, I have better things to do than ruin your collage."
Something dangled from the Promised's ear. "Tell Satinlights I said hello, or complain about me, whatever you're inclined to do." And then Sen was gone. When Bloody would turn back to the grave, a single vivid blue flower with a bright yellow core sat at the base of the grave, almost invisible at a first glance, and an earring was hung on an artificial loop made from the flower's thin stem . From the tom's ear hung the twin piece, an antique earring, delicate silver wiring holding a beautiful blue gemstone that glittered strangely, light catching on the core causing it to flash not unlike that of a cat's eye. The jewelry was light and felt almost alive, untainted and entirely unlike the feline who'd possessed it moments ago. Though now, whether he chose to keep it or throw it to the dirt, it seemed to belong to Bloodyrondo from this moment on.
Skipstep was not faring much better than Littlestar, unable to do much else than remain at her side as they struggled through finding Satinlights and then handling what they found. Skipstep regretted having to see his precious daughter in this way, and had been struggling to do his best to try and rid it from his memories. He didn't want to see his daughter like that. He just... how could this have happened?
When Littlestar had broken down Skipstep had barely managed to not crumble alongside her, he held it together because he knew his mate needed him. But once they were in her den and she fell asleep did Skipstep let the charade fall as he pressed in close to his mate, eyes closed tightly.
As if he could block out the reality of their daughter being dead if he just tried hard enough.
His head was resting atop Littlestar's his ears pricking as he detected movement and he recognized by scent it was Foxbane. He kept his eyes closed debating if he should note her presence or if he should hope she'd go away.
"Who you talking to?" Radiantpaw asked as she bounced over to Wolfpaw, dancing to her own beat vibing with the atmosphere. Though the celebrations were rather muted following one of the janus turning up dead, this was still the summer solstice which her mother was named after upon arriving in SunClan so she was going to enjoy it.

LIONPRIDE: Lionpride rose to his feet as the the other cat approached, judging Bloodyrondo's reaction to the cat's presence before doing anything even though the hair along his spine had risen just being around him. There was something unnatural about SceneScene, and how death seemed to follow her where ever she went. A growl rumbled in his throat, as the scent of blood filled the air. However, before he could act the other cat was gone "Want me to go after her?" Jadie@honeystorm
LITTLESTAR Even as her mate shifted his position, and Foxbane entered into the den Littlestar didn't stir. Her sides gently rising and falling, her eyes closed HoneystormJetclaw
She knew the solstice was a special day for SunClan. Anyone knew that. She knew it back when she lived in DayClan. But being in the Clan was a whole different story. Between the bone art done by the young and the truth or dare game that summoned two deities, it sufficed to say that last few weeks had been beyond interesting. She didn't care now. The event leading up to it were fun, but she had no interest in sticking around for the main celebrations. She didn't even believe in this Sun God yet. Why did she have to worship him?
She settled down in a shady corner of the camp to watch the festivities from afar. A certain smell hit her nose. One she had become far too familiar with in the recent weeks. She cursed under her breath as she saw Romancefable padded his way into the camp with... a koi? Did he raid DayClan's pond to impress her? Clinging on to a fleeting hope that he would not notice her, she curled tighter into a ball.

ROMANCEFABLE Much to Azura's disappointment, it wasn't hard for the golden eyed tom to spot her lovely pelt even curled into ball. It was to distinctive, her sweet smell not even a challenge to distinguish from the rest of the clan. He bee lined straight toward her, nearly bowling over any of the other cats that stood in between the two of them in process as he dropped the koi at her paws "Good evening my dear. I thought you might be missing your old home, so I wanted to bring you back something from DayClan" he was beaming, all he was wanting was a smile, even just a small one. stardance
