Still getting adjusted to her new home Tempest found herself wandering a new part of the territory everyday. She preferred the gardens most of all but, with all the territory Primal Instinct had to offer she thought it would be a waste not to scout it out to see what herbs and other plants she could find. As Mage she felt it was a personal requirement to at least know what remedies she could come up with when needed. Today the small gray she cat found herself nearing the old mansion that was once part of Primal Instinct's old camp. She's been near there a few times but hadn't yet entered the green house. Something about being in a place he once worked in made her fur fluff up on end. Today she would finally bite the bullet and go in.

Shina was on a mission. He vowed to learn what every rank in the League did and get to know the cats in their roles. His reasoning? No idea. He had gotten a bit bored with every day life and had the sudden urge to know every little thing about the League and it's cats. Today was no different as he stalked the Mage, Tempest, as she made her way to the green house. He hid behind bushes and poked his head out, wondering what was in there that was making her so cautious.

The she-cat was vaguely aware of the feeling of eyes burning into her fur from somewhere, which didn't help with the general anxiety she felt regarding the task at hand. None the less she took one step forward, then another until she stood in the center of the green house, looking around at all the overgrown, and dying plants. These plants would definitely need some love if she was going to stand any sort of chance at salvaging them. Relaxing ever so slightly she went to work at clipping away the dead parts of a near by plant with her teeth.

The blue-grey and white tom slid forward through the undergrowth, following her silently into the greenhouse. He watched her, a bit confused, as she appeared so tense then began to relax. Taking a look around, he couldn't understand what was making her so on edge. All he could see were a bunch of dying plants and bugs. Maybe bugs made her nervous? He wouldn't judge her, they were definitely creepy. As she began to snip away at the plants, he watched her carefully then mimicked the movements on the plant next to him. A bitter flavor flooded his mouth and Shina fought not to cough in surprise.

Tempest's ear twitched at the slight noise but otherwise payed no attention to it. Even she had to admit that after awhile eerie atmosphere of the green house dissipated leaving her feeling relaxed, even as she focused on the task at hand. She would repeat this process over and over moving from plant to plant, treating each one with the upmost care. It was perhaps the closest to content that any cat had ever seen her. Even her methods were gentle as if she were actually afraid of potentially harming the plant if she wasn't careful. The small storm cloud of a cat didn't make a sound as she worked hyper-focused on her task, that she probably wouldn't notice that she had company even if the cat following her were in plain sight.

Shina had also gotten distracted with the work of snipping away plants, watching her very carefully until he felt like he had it down. He made little piles for each part of the plant and continued on his way. It wasn't until he felt a cold something on his nose that he looked up to realize Tempest was right in front of him and it was in fact her nose that he had touched. If cats could blush, the patched tom would have been beet red in that moment. He scooted back a few paces, feeling incredibly awkward and unsure of what to do. His head dipped down in a shy apology, but he kept his gaze on her just in case she lashed out. It wouldn't surprise him with how finicky she had been acting before.

Talk about being in the zone. Tempest had gotten so carried away she didn't realize she wasn't alone until her nose touched Shina's. For a moment, she didn't know how to react, it was like her brain had short circulated at the sudden contact, and all she could do was stare back into his usually bright yellow eyes. Only for a moment, as soon as that moment had passed she backed away from the proxy, until she was at least a tail's length away from him. Her fur was fluffed out twice it's size but she didn't look angry. Taking a deep breath she forced herself to relax. She had enough sense about her not to lash out at the gray tom, especially since he really hadn't done anything to her to begin with. Without a word she moved on to another plant, casting a quick glance in his direction to see if he was following.

Shina blinked in surprise at her reaction a few times. Hesitantly but without a single word, he followed her and began picking at the plants again. He only glanced away a moment to sweep his gaze across the area despairingly. Were they going to pluck every plant there?! That didn't sound like an entertaining job at all... There were a few times that his large paws would misstep and he would accidentally land on her tail or on a poor little budding plant. It was obvious this wasn't something he was comfortable with but he wanted to learn and he felt that her silence meant that maybe she liked the help? Every time he got in the way he dipped his head multiple times apologetically, eventually causing his neck to ache.

Just like that it became a game. Tempest moved from plant to plant with Shina on her tail, mimicking her movements. The mage could see the boredom in the proxy's eyes though he never complained, going about the tedious task like it was his job. She wouldn't say so but, she admired his determination. Even when he stepped on her tail and the plants she didn't so much as hiss at him, though it did get mildly vexing after awhile, but the two went on working in silence until finally something had to be said. "Thank you, but you don't have to help me." her voice was soft, and barely above a whisper but even to her own ears it felt like she had shouted them in comparison to the silence that had engulfed them.

"I'm not very good at it." He answered, his voice equally as soft but deep. He glanced down at his dirt-stained white paws, wondering how he could make them somehow gentler. He held up one large paw and shook his head. Despite his lack of grace when it came to plants, he was having a good time. It was probably because of the company. Many cats loved to talk and it made him feel uncomfortable, but Tempest was a calming presence for him. A small amount of heat rose to his cheeks and he looked away shyly. "Is there a way I can be of better help?"

The stormy she-cat gave him a soft smile, as she watched the clumsy tom, examine his now stained paws. "Perhaps you could try pulling out the weeds in the garden? It doesn't require such a gentle touch." She let out a soft purr of amusement at the suggestion. "Unless you would like to take a break, I don't think either of us have had lunch yet."

As if on cue, his stomach let out a large rumble and felt the embarrassment burn at his ears. He gave her the smallest of smiles, but it was sweet and genuine. It wasn't often that he showed any other emotion than just a blank expression. "Lunch sounds good." He purred softly in return. "...Where do you want to go?"
