It had been a few days since Ruinedportrait had fished the former janus out of the river on MoonClan's side of the territory. She wasn't fond of what ended up being a real rescue attempt but, she had survived, and even the cream colored she cat was impressed by the resilience the young cat possessed and ever more so when the expectant queen had managed this three day trek while only stopping to eat and sleep at night. Ruinedportrait felt a twinge of guilt at that fact but, the sooner the duo made it to their destination the better. When Satinlights had come to her and asked her for her help this the last thing she had been expecting, and the even crazier part? It actually worked. The cream colored she-cat could actually feel herself relaxing as they neared the border of the territory SwiftClan made their home this moon.
She was exhausted but, refused to let it show, making sure her paws didn't drag as she walked. The kits in her belly felt like stones and weighed her down but she wouldn't slow down. They couldn't afford to, not until they were safe and then what? Would they ever be safe? She shook her head to clear the thought from her mind. She should be more scared. She had just run away her family, her home, her mate, and everything she had ever known, and the threat of death was looming over her head should they ever find out what she'd done. The weight of it all should of crushed her but as soon as they got close enough to SwiftClan's current territory for her to see a familiar flame-point tom pacing back and forth she felt lighter than ever. Quickening her pace she hurried excited to greet her friend.

Sure enough, he was pacing. Stopping only to chew at the chew briefly at the fur on his legs out of sheer anxiety before getting up to pace again. When Beastsrefrain left, it was by himself. Leaving everything behind for this chance, the last he would probably ever get. His three-day journey here had left him ragged, and with how Swiftclan already struggled, he didn't get much of a respite when he joined. But, he was finally getting settled. Taking the first step before that old life came knocking on his door again. When that Sunclan scent came through, he wasn't ready to face Discordantpaw, but it was what he expected. Ruinedportrait was a surprise, so was the vague details she gave. The two that stuck was that Satinlights was running away and she was throwing herself off a cliff. Well, into water. But, still horribly concerning for the once Janus.
Another one of them had fell, though she at least managed to fake her death. Everyone could figure Beast was still alive, their kill on sight command leaving him hungry on gathering nights. And this was an even bigger risk. If they found out both had lived and ran off to the same clan, it would only end in a bloodbath. Though, as two silhouettes appeared over the horizon, he let those thoughts go. His instinct was still to bristle, puff up from always being on edge. As the pair got closer, and them clearer, he took off in a run to reach them. Like he was in a desert and they were water.
He slowed as the distance closed, pressing his head against Satinlight's. Beastsrefrain needed to know, know that this wasn't some sort of sick dream. "Gee, I told you not to dumb yourself down to his level, you know?" The flame point said with a laugh before looking up at his sister, "And Ruined, I could use more heads up other than 'be on the border for the next few days'." Beast's voice stiffened only briefly, failing in holding back another laugh as he couldn't take it seriously.
Satinlights couldn't help the purr that exploded in her chest as soon as Beastrefrain pressed his head to her, she didn't know how badly she'd needed it until this moment. She was so relieved she wanted to cry but, there would be no more tears from here on out. She playfully cuffed his ear in response to his playful taunt. "Hey! it's only dumb if I get caught, until then it's pretty clever." she purred, unable to tear her eyes off him for her fear that he would disappear the moment she looked away from him.
"I'd like to see you run back and forth between SunClan and SwiftClan territory non-stop for the next nine days and tell me how much warning you can give." she retorted, but there was just a hint of amusement in her blue eyes as she regarded her brother, looking between the two refugees. "There'd better not be a next time either." she fixed both of them with a halfhearted glare. Ruinedportrait would never admit it but, she was relieved to see that both former janus had made it safely to their new home. She wasn't one for sappy reunions or heartfelt good byes but even though she knew she couldn't stay she found it hard to turn and walk away.
"Will... you two be alright?" she tried to keep her tone nonchalant.

Beastsrefrain expected some tears, though hearing his friend burst into a series of purrs threatened to break him. He only held together by purring with her, relief and fear bringing him close. But, he couldn't cry anymore either. While he couldn't help but smile at her retort, it made him pause. If i get caught, huh? That feeling rumbled in his stomach again, one of doubt. It felt like no if, it was a manner of when. All he could hope was that day was far away.
"True, true." It was hard to shift his gaze up to his sister, but he did it with a laugh before half closing his eyes, "Thank you, Ruined." Beast said earnestly. He could never admit how much he missed the rest of his siblings, especially now that they were worlds apart again. This was his last moment, Satin the final offering thrown over. Moonlit knew, there could be no next time.
"For now, I believe so. Swiftclan is more accepting than you'd think. Please be careful though, Bootiful."
Ruiedportrait's heart lurched when her brother had called her by her first name. She couldn't suppress the grin that split her features, though there was still a sorrowful look her her eyes and she stepped closer to her litter-mate to give him a quick lick over his ear. So this was it huh? Their final goodbye? She swallowed passed the lump that formed in her throat as she stepped back from the duo. "Don't worry about me, take care of yourself Draculad." She tried to keep her tone playful but the hitch in her voice betrayed her emotions. She knew she couldn't keep coming back like this, it would be placing a bounty over her own head as well. Her place was in SunClan and she had to go back. "Take care of each other for me will you? And for Sun God's sake try to stay out of trouble" She chuckled shaking her head as she turned and bounded off back in the direction of home.
Satin found herself instinctively pressing herself closer to Moonlit as Ruinedportrait said her final goodbyes to her brother. Something she hadn't done when she had left, not that she thought they would care. Her family was all probably better off thinking she was dead. Aside from her parents and Bloodyrondo she doubted they would even miss her, which just made her all the more grateful that Moonlit at least had somebody who would miss him and had his back. "Thank you!" she called after the cream-furred she-cat. Her last words still echoing in her mind.
"Take care of each other for me will you?" She closed eyes briefly letting the moment sink in and making a silent promise to her former clan-mate and herself. I Will Ruined, I promise." She opened her eyes to find herself still in fact standing near the boarder with Beastrefrain. It was a surreal feeling that she still hadn't fully processed. "So what now?" she purred turning her head to look up at her friend, and once again clan-mate.

Moonlit felt his own heart cave in on itself, even saying her old name felt hard on his soul. The siblings were never especially close, the constant rivalry between the two eldest not helping matters. Still, it was nice to know, even if he wanted to get them all out of that cult. He mirrored the motion, it stung a bit. He had a feeling, sinking or not, this wasn't gonna be the last time he saw her. "Of course I'm gonna worry. That's my supposed job." His laugh sounded too hollow. Of course it took them separating for seemingly forever to feel like a family. His luck, he supposed. "But I know you'll be fine." Moonlit at least needed to send her off with a smile. Even if it was forced, and the ends quivered. "I make no promises on that last bit." He laughed, one that was genuine.
It was short and Moonlit was left to watch Ruined disappear over the horizon. Gone. For sure. He felt a similar emptiness when he left Sunclan. While all those bottled feelings were shaken up again, he could only vent them by digging his claws into the ground. Beastsrefrain almost didn't hear Satin speak up, and he let out a sigh he didn't realize he was holding in. Right. Back to business. The longer they hung around here, the more likely they were to be found. "If you're good to keep walking, we need to get back to camp. While we're walking, you'll need to think of a new name for yourself." He didn't move much, just enough to stand and still support her. "It'll be easiest to say I found you, and you can come up with whatever you want for a backstory. They already know I'm a runaway from Sunclan, so we should try and think of something that doesn't involve them. Swiftclan isn't cruel to turn away a queen."
"Hey" she nudged him, gently butting his shoulder. "She'll be okay, If any cat can handle whatever SunClan throws at them it's your sister." She offered a reassuring purr trying to soothe him. The last thing she wanted was to see him upset, and there wasn't a doubt in her mind that Ruined would some how find a way to see them again. As for SwiftClan she wasn't worried about being turned away as she was worried about the culture shock she was about to experience by joining their ranks. "What's it like there? Was it everything you were looking for?" She hadn't fully considered the fact that she would have to change her name, but seeing as Satinlights was presumed dead it only made sense that she would have to be somebody else, and this person wasn't tied to Moonlit the way Satinlights had been. She could be anyone here, and the endless possibilities gave her a new sense of hope and freedom.
"Something with Indigo I think, I like the way it sounds. What made you pick your name?"

He really had no faith, huh? Even when she was trying to comfort him, he could only feel himself grieving for the family he once knew. That wound was open and bleeding again when he really came here to make it stop. "I hope you're right." Was all he could say on it.
But he moved by it just as quick. Not that he had a good answer for her. What was he even looking for? If the answer was not Sunclan, then Swiftclan filled that quota easily. But an answer like that didn't sit right in him. "It's... freeing. No morning prayers, no classes to attend. It feels less like a clan and a group of families traveling together." Beastsrefrain found himself smiling a little as he spoke. He wanted freedom, and he found it. He wouldn't admit that it was also horribly lonely, especially after such a rocky introduction. But she wouldn't have to go through that. "Indigo is good. The new name is Beastsrefrain by the way, in case Ruined didn't tell you. You can still call me Moonlit, but only when we're alone. As for what... I'll consider it the last link back there."
"She may have mentioned it but, she's not very talkative, I believe Ruined would of dragged me here if i slowed down too much. I mean I understood the gravity of the situation but, she should relax.. just a little." She lapsed into silence listening to him describe her new clan, noting the faint smile that graced his expression, something he rarely did in his old life. They were alone now but, she wasn't sure now was the right time to call him by the name she'd called him her entire life. It felt wrong, he was trying to start a new life, the least she could do was make it easier on him. "It's a bit edgy but fitting for you. C'mon Beasty We should probably head home, you look pretty worn out" she teased.

"Heh, probably." Beastsrefrain laughed a little at the idea of Ruined dragging Satin here. But was more glad she didn't have to, knowing full well he would have flipped if they came across the horizon like that. He couldn't help it, probably too nervous for his own good. "But now she can, now that you're finally out of her fur." He purred, suddenly flattening his ears at the tease. "Hey, what do you mean edgy? And aren't you the one leaning on me as we walk back, Indigo?" He asked, feigning hurt but not being able to keep the grin off his face.
