Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The auburn she-cat's whiskers alerted her that she was very close in proximately to something - presumably a tree - and she overcorrected her head to the other direction... only to collide into something else. She stumbled and came to a halt, rubbing at the lump already forming on her head from doing this a few times already, and let out an exasperated sigh.
"What are you doing, Dia?"
Diamonddust's life had always been ruled by fear of the unknown, it was like a weight tied to her neck, biting into her throat, choking her. DayClan understood this and made accommodations. When you're ready, you can begin Warrior training, but she never was ready. Every time she tried she gave up quickly and not a soul judged her for it. They pitied her, Kiki, the little kittypet lost her eyesight before ever stepping foot outside of her dingy metal cage. Odds were against her from the start. She'd changed her name in the hopes of being as strong as her clanmates but not once had she ever lived up to it.
"You're pathetic..."
She wished she could give up, have Glowstar appear and tell her it was a good effort, she could try again next time. But then she'd just be falling right back into that same old cycle. No, Diamonddust needed to be somewhere new, with different values, different cats. The only sliver of hope she had were her dreams of Selene, the Moon Goddess of few words, who beckoned her to her homelands. No direction had been given but her Dia's paws seemed to know the way.
She shook herself and continued her slow-going journey toward her new home.
Even though Diamonddust believer herself to be alone, two eyes as pale as the moon watched her from a distance. He had been watching the cats DayClan had rescued for quite some time, curious to see how they would fare in a world as cruel and unfair as theirs. Some seemed to be doing well, but one seemed to be struggling worse than the others. She had tried to change her name, and yet her fear sill shined through like the moon through the canopy. It didn't take an analytic genius like Takeshi to see straight through her feeble attempts at growing stronger. She was trying, but the longer she skirted around her true fear the longer it would control her.
He followed behind at a distance, keeping his presence hidden. However as she passed over the MoonClan border, she forced him to do his duty as one of MoonClan's bishops. He easily passed her up, moving himself until he stood directly in her path, pale moon light streaming through the trees making the white of his pelt glimmer like silk and his golden gaze appear like a flame in the darkness. A beacon in an otherwise dark and cloudy night.
"Diamonddust, I fear this is where your journey must stop"
Diamonddust had picked up the MoonClan tom's scent shortly before he appeared. She tensed, her fluffy red tail still and level with the ground. She tried to feed herself reassurance - his scent is calm, his voice is even, if he meant harm he would have acted by now - but her heart rate was beating so fast she could hear it echoing in her ears. She had rehearsed her first statement over and over again in her head but now her mind was blank. The somali she-cat's did not reply for a few moments as she collected her thoughts.
"You know my name? I didn't realize I was so p-popular," She finally said, her voice sweet like a bell, but trembling. In hindsight it did make sense to be so quickly recognized - DayClan's rescue of some abused kittypets had been well-publicized - but presently it just served to unnerve her. Even the cats of MoonClan must speak of her uselessness. They would be wise to turn her away before she became the burden that she was, but the image of the Moon Goddess haunted her even now, giving her encouragement, "And... I disagree. This is where my journey begins. I've come to join MoonClan."
