Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.

( stealing this idea from honey who stole it from faith. i'm making a bunch of open threads and pinging pi peeps that replied to the ac. feel free to reply even if you weren't pined, and this is optional but most of you said you wanted to rp with me. achromatic, this is your thread. sorry, jadie gave me this prompt ) The door to the cathedral swung open, with wind followed by the rigid pawsteps of a king. Sure enough, Funk was back from expedition or other. The Nemesis was never still for very long, always working on something. But today, he came with something else. Wrapped in a cloth slung over his shoulders was a large white egg. In the middle of the church, Funk set the egg down on the cold hard ground. It was all white, not even a speck of another color or weakness. He figured it was some sort of rock at first, but he heard noise coming from inside when he leaned down. But as the world continued around him, with only a few passing glances at his find, he pouted. "Hey. Be a little more excited here people. This is a great scientific find and I would hope SOMEONE would appreciate it as much as I."

Verne's vibrant eyes were trained on the Nemesis as he came in. Of course, she had heard things about him, but had never quite met the guy. Frankly, she tended to stay amongst her own; Niamh was really the only company she kept for a most of the time. Exploring the city was great, but not all the cats here were friendly. Not all of them were sane, Niamh had scoffed. Still, whatever was going on in the cathedral, it was always interesting.
She didn't expect the cat to come so close to her, and when he gave a pout, her ear twitched in amusement. "What is it?" she asked, her head tilted to the side.

Funk wasn't looking at any one cat to speak up, but the instant a voice rose from the crowd, he almost leapt toward it. And he realized, he had no idea who this was. Perfect. Someone to impart some knowledge on. How lucky of... them. Whoever. But hey, with a winning smile, Funk placed the egg in front of Verne. "Come on dear, it's an egg. What else could it be?" Always too full of himself, but he didn't speak condescendingly. His tone was more matter of fact as he briefly leaned against the egg before remembering it was still an egg and quickly straightened himself off of it. "Now, as for what's in it... I'm unsure. But that's the joy of science. Whether it's a new species, nothing, or like a lame bird or something, but hey the surprise is what makes it fun."

An egg, huh? Verne had seen plenty of eggs, mostly from robins and birds upon trees, with their tiny eggs that were barely a mouthful. Not the tastiest treat but hey, you make do when you can. Still, this egg was...well, big. Bigger than any egg she had seen in a while. "What kind of egg?" she frowned, "usually they're tiny, barely a bite, you know? Not really my favorite food or anything, but this one seems a bit big...I wonder what's going to come out of it."
More so, she wondered whether it was going to be tasty, to eat whatever hatched out of that egg.

"It is strange. Something large must have laid it." Funk has seen his fair share of cracked eggs that fell from trees or the remnants after bird chicks were born. But Verne was right, they were rather small. No bird he'd seen could have possibly laid something so large. He leaned down and pressed his ear against it, listening like a sound was gonna come out. But nothing did. It made sense, he did just find it in the middle of a short patch of grass. "The only way to learn is to hatch it. Or break it open, but if it was something cool and we just kill it, that would suck. Your curiosity has been piqued, I'm sure?" As he talked, he thought he felt the egg move and held it tighter. Though when he did, it stilled.
