( stealing this idea from honey who stole it from faith. i'm making a bunch of open threads and pinging pi peeps that replied to the ac. feel free to reply even if you weren't pined, and this is optional but most of you said you wanted to rp with me. simplylight , this is your thread ) Lorelei didn't tend to keep her shop stock updated. Which was fair, it was only so popular. She was surprised how many of her rugs were bought, and how she even got requests to make specific ones. It wasn't horribly hard, and it kept her fed so win win. The stadium was mostly empty today, just shop owners milling about as the calico laid a rug out to be dried. The blood had been cleaned off, now it just needed to be dried and then she could hang it up. Along with the other creature skins she had. It was grotesque, yet surprisingly clean. As pawsteps approached, she spun around. "Hi, welcome to Four Fur's. Where our motto is if the fur is too rough, give it four good slaps. How can I help you?"

He had been trying to get to know everyone recently so that is how he found himself in front of her shop. There were many situations that ended up awkward in his quest for 'comrades' due to his lack of conversation and their lack of interest in entertaining a strange, silent cat. As he glanced Lorelei over, he wondered if this was going to end up the same way. "Four...good... slaps?" Shina tilted his head at the she-cat, staring at her in confusion for a moment. Was she referring to slapping the rugs or actual cats? He gave the rugs a cautious sniff and poked at one with one large white paw. It seemed soft enough? The only rugs he could remember were the ones in the two-leg nests from when he was a kitten. Those seemed very soft and...strange? These appeared to be a lot more...real. He nodded towards one of the skins and looked back over at her. "Did you make this yourself?"

Ah, someone new. How fun. Lorelei, at the least, appeared completely interested in him with wide odd eyes that watched his every movement. Though she simply nodded at his first question, not offering an explanation for the strange shop motto she came up with on the spot. She stepped away slowly, letting Shina look over each of her wares before he looked back, seemingly with an unsure expression. She didn't know, just offering him a wide grin. "I did." The calico she-cat straightened slightly, making herself look even taller in her pride. "I collect the necessary materials and dry them myself too. Oh, I'm Lorelei Manina by the way. Punishment district here. How far did you come from?"

"That's impressive." He responded, his voice soft and deep. His eyes drifted over the rugs once more, wondering which one would look best in the photo booth. Would a rug fit in a photo booth? With a sudden shock, he realized that he didn't have anything to trade on him except a mask he carried around at times and a white fur and bone anklet that was around his front paw. Neither of those things could be traded, but he really wanted a rug. At her question, he pointed back with his tail in the direction of the shopping district. "I'm an Ambassador. It's nice to meet you Lorelei." He looked back over awkwardly at the rugs and began backing away slowly, feeling the guilt of not bringing anything to buy them with.

"Thanks. It's a lot of work." Lorelei's tail wagged behind her. Compared to the other luxuries offered at the market, rugs weren't exactly the most exciting. So, getting the chance to talk about her process was something completely new. And she definitely liked to boast. "Especially with the lighter colored one. Washing all the blood out can be a pai-- Oh, do you like that one?" Interrupting herself, she walked over to Shina who was standing in front of one of the larger ones. "Yeah, that guy put up a good fight." Lorelei would have prattled on, had it not been for Shina slowly backing away. "What's the matter?" She didn't pick up on why he backed up, or why he had such a weird look on his face.

"U-uh..." He mumbled softly, stopping in his tracks and giving her a blank, helpless stare. "I don't have much..." Shina knew he should be a little bit more confident in his talking, but it wasn't something he did often so he sounded a bit more like a youngling than he wanted to. His gaze turned towards the rug once more. "It is nice." Truthfully, he was quite impressed she caught something that large, or obtained it. PI cats were known to do sketchy trades and make deals with odd characters.

"Oh. You have nothing to trade?" Lorelei tilted her head, seemingly ignoring that childish tone in his voice. Not that she could really talk. Cause as soon as her head righted itself, Lorelei pranced to the inside of her stall. "I mean, I'm pretty easy to trade with. Some of the guys around here are pretty stingy and will only accept things they can gamble away. Let's see... have you seen an influx of lizards anywhere? You Ambassador guys tend to get around the city more than us." Lorelei asked, staring straight through him that said she wasn't joking about her question.

Shina tilted his head in the same direction as hers. Lizards? That was an odd request. He glanced back in the direction of Party City, wondering if they had some secret stash of lizards somewhere. "I do not know." The quiet tom tried to think back to the last time he was in the rogue lands and if he remembered any lizards. "Ah, I believe there are several near the junk yard."

"Ooh, I haven't been to the junkyard in forever. We'll have to go look." Lizard tail collecting was Lorelei's most known hobby. Well, besides fighting. But she had become so used to the techniques Primal Instinct cats use, she pretty much gave up sparring with them. The calico spun around back into the shop and grabbed the rug Shina was interested in, or at least the one he kept looking at. Slinging it over her back, and already regretting it as the rug trapped more heat on her, she left the store. "Junkyard. I should have thought of that." Lorelei muttered to herself before looking over to Shina. "Welp, let's shake a tail. They'll all go home for the evening if we wait too long."

His eyes widened for a second, shocked that they were going lizard gathering right that second, but he was getting the feeling that was just the way Lorelei functioned. "Oh okay, sounds good. Let's go then." He responded, reminding himself that eventually he needed to act like a proxy and couldn't be all bewildered all the time. A trip to the junkyard that had totally existed this whole entire time and wasn't made up at all, sounded nice. It had been a while since he patrolled there himself.

It was always a time of action with Lorelei. There was no reason to sit down and wait when she could go look now. If Shina wanted to get out of it, she didn't pick it up on it. The walk was very boring so let's just catch up with them when they make it to the junkyard.
Though it might not have been the one Shina thought of. This one was full of monsters, with dead unblinking eyes. They didn't move, and their body only gave a hollow ring as Lorelei smacked one of them. "Ah, there's gotta be some here. I wonder if these guys will wake up and start singing to us like they did to that toaster?" She asked no one in particular, even if the only other person there was Shina.
