( stealing this idea from honey who stole it from faith. i'm making a bunch of open threads and pinging pi peeps that replied to the ac. feel free to reply even if you weren't pined, and this is optional but most of you said you wanted to rp with me. @peepingpeeper , this is your thread ) The clicks and clacks echoed through the dark streets, stars and moon dancing in the night sky. The summer nights were warm, not a hint of wind as a multicolored she-cat played with the buttons in a booth. The photo booth was an instant hit, taking your picture before spitting it out. How it did it, or how it maintained the materials to, was a mystery, and not one that she cared to solve. No, the odd eyed she-cat kept pressing the buttons. Jumping up to make a funny face, but most of the pictures were just the empty seat behind her or a motion blur. Photos were scattered on the outside of the booth, but she paid no heed as she stood on her hind paws before sticking her tongue out as the camera clicked again.

“Such a beautiful night,” she whispered, a sound barely audible as it rested in the silent air around her. It was quiet, almost painfully so. She didn’t mind too much, sometimes the loudness of everything got to her, made her head spin, made her feel as if she had finally lost her mind. And maybe she had. Or perhaps she had no mind to lose in the first place. She turned her eyes back to the moon, surrounded by adoring stars. Was that why the night was so quiet? So the stars could dance? She bummed a little, as if providing a little tune for them.
Click. Her ears perked.
Click. Her tail flicked.
“Curious,” she said, almost as quiet as her words previous, “curious, curious.” She continued her humming, her wandering, as the clicking grew more audible. Were the stars singing back? Or perhaps it was the moon calling to her.
Click. She now actively looked for the source, feeling much like a predator on the hunt. The booth before stood rather tall, somewhat imposing. “Curious,” she repeated again. Her paws seemed to barely touch the ground as it carried her towards the contraption. Her paws didn’t make a sound.
“Aren’t you a pretty thing?” She spoke louder this time, but her voice still had a hush to it. “Are you a spectre? Or perhaps a physical being?” It was mostly her face visible; her smile was stretched wide yet held no joy.

Lorelei didn't hear her approach. How could she when the air was filled of the clicks of her late night lover. The moon and the stars could have their fun, but so could she right here on earth. Rumbling purrs filled the booth, odd eyes focusing right on the lens when someone spoke up. Whirling around on instinct, she almost stepped off of the seat, one paw scrambling to get back on as she looked down at her face. The Hunter's paw slapped against her face in response to the question. "Yep, physical all right." She replied, shaking the nerves out of her paw as she stared down at the face curiously. "What about you, Andross? Are you a ghost?" Not even giving her a chance to answer, she gasped, "You must be... here to get revenge for that guy I killed the other day! But you can back off. He had it coming."

“Andross?” She tilted her head slowly, fluidly, as if she had never moved at all. She didn’t respond for a short moment, eyes casting upward as if in thought. “I am not quite sure whether I’m a ghost or not. It is hard to tell.” She paused, taking in the pretty face. “But I’m not here to harm you.” Though it was tempting. Her claws itched with a need to bring them down on the she-cats form. She rocked on her toes, still taking in the cat before her. She stepped closer, into the booth.
“Strange eyes, very beautiful. Why are they like that?” She resisted the urge to put her face up in the she-cat’s, to get a better look at the oddity. She would like to have eyes like that. Or perhaps she would like to take them out and keep them.

She didn't know? Well, it was easy enough to find out. When Larua stepped up into the booth, Lorelei reached down and put her paw on her head briefly. Enough to make it clear she was at least physical before pulling away. "No, it seems your real." The hunter shook her paw before resting it back down. She found no comfort in that Larua was real, or any fear from her. Even if she didn't know her, she had enough confidence in herself to not worry about losing a fight.
"I was born with them. Most of my family has weird eyes like this." Lorelei tilted her head, now thinking about it. Sen had pretty eyes, but she didn't remember if her mom did. Fia's were average, Alvah's may have been too. And while she hadn't seen them lately, she heard her kits' eyes were like a kaleidoscope. "What about you? Have any family around?"

She saw rather than felt the paw land on her head. It was quick, ending with Larua’s tilted head. “Real,” she whispered to herself. A part of her hoped she was not. What was the point of existing when she only had half the experience? It was as if the universe had broken her and taped her back up—some pieces were missing, or in the wrong place. She snapped herself out of her mind as the odd-eyed cat continued.
”Hm? Interesting,” she briefly looked around the booth before turning her eyes back to the she-cat. “Family?” For a moment, the word was foreign. It was not something that belonged to her. “Oh, no. No, I’ve no family around.” She couldn’t quite get a grasp on the word, couldn’t quite understand what it meant. She looked over her shoulder, to her own pelt. Did she inherent it? Perhaps she was a mix. Or maybe she looked nothing like her family.

Lorelei didn't even notice her. The strange expression on her face to the snap of her neck back to her. If given the chance, she'd spend the whole time talking. Jumping from each topic to another, like a river that didn't have a stone to stop it. But some part of her figured it'd be a boring thread if she kept going. Still. Lorelei was a little surprised when Larua said she didn't have anyone. Even shortly after she was born, Lorelei still had her brother and sister, and growing has let her meet more. Not having anyone was as foreign to her as it was for Larua to have someone.
"None, huh? Seems freeing." That was one thing about having such a huge family. It felt like everyone had something to say, and it was a pain to find someone not tied to you in some way or other. "A little lonely too. Hey, you wanna hop up here and take a pic with me?" The she-cat then leaned over, one of her paws hovering over the button.
