Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Well, this is pleasant," Hiddenvein muttered. The mud was thick, black, and sticky, and after last night's rain, it stubbornly refused to let go of him. He pulled his front paws free with a loud sucking sound and dragged himself forward another step, grimacing at the cold embrace. He was sliding in deeper with every step. Hiddenvein hated water and he hated swimming, and this was like swimming through the earth, thick and gooey. As the lean white tabby fought to pull his back leg free he stumbled, and his mouse slipped from his jaws and into the muddy sink.
"No!" he cried in despair as it quickly disappeared, swallowed by the earth.
"Ooh, that's rough," observed the Captain. He had draped himself across a fork in an overhanging tree branch, long white tail dangling down beneath him as he sprawled comfortably in the bough's embrace. "You can lose a lot of things to the water if you're not careful," he said, nodding wisely. "I once had to leave the juiciest duck I've ever seen behind just to save myself from drowning in a marsh. Sometimes I wonder if it would've been more worth it to go down with it."
"Yeah, I wonder that too," Hiddenvein grumbled as he dug hopelessly through the mud with one paw. The mouse was gone but he was determined to put as much effort into relocating it as he did hunting it. It had been an easy catch, practically fell into his paws, and he wasn't going to give up on such easy prey without a little effort. "You want to get down here and help?"
