Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
After naming Beestripe his deputy, Chim had been strangely silent: otherwise occupied, he had barely taken the time to visit with his new staffer. It was a bad habit of his, and his first deputy had been so frustrated by his evasive behavior that she had stepped down and left the clan. He was glad she did - leaving might have saved her life - but he was determined that he wasn't going to make the same mistake this time. So, after a week of practically ignoring Beestripe, he finally sought him out.
"Beestripe," Chim called as he exited his den with a yawn, "do you have any plans for the day? Let's go for a nice hunt. Just you and me."
Beestripe had been grooming his mate in the camp when Chimerastar called his name. The dark gray tabby lifted his head from Lamb's fur and purred, "Hello Chimerastar." Lamb shooed him off with a flick of her tail, keeping away from the leader and staying where she was at. Beestripe left her side and padded towards the other tom. "No plans until this evening. I would love to go hunt."
After being appointed deputy, Beestripe had felt strangely ignored by the leader. He wasn't even sure why he had been chosen - the decision had just come out of nowhere and then Chimerastar had disappeared again to do whatever it was he did. SwiftClan was so different from SpringClan, and Beestripe reckoned that had everything to do with both the strange behavior and the decision to name him deputy. Perhaps Chimerastar had wanted to choose a former clan cat to band together this family of misfits. And for the strange behavior, well, SwiftClan allowed kits to attend Gatherings. That was enough said. It was just small things like that and like his leader being somewhat emotionally vacant from him that Beestripe would just have to get used to.
