Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Wintrystar sends Harlow and Icyhaven to drop off one (1) piece of prey at the SwiftClan camp. @turtlenoir icy was chosen for this mission if you want to join @pao Phantom it would be fun family bonding if ya'll want to tag along too c;
Harlow waited at the entrance to the WinterClan camp for his nephew, Icyhaven, to arrive. Wintrystar had ordered them to deliver some prey as part of a deal they'd made, though strangely she only offered a single rabbit, and he had requested Frigidpaw and Enchantedpaw (his kits, though he hadn't told them that) to tag along. It would be a good bonding experience for all of them, he hoped, and maybe he could still be marginally involved in their lives.
Enchantedpaw wasn't sure why Harlow had requested she and Frigidpaw join in on the mission of bringing Swiftclan a single rabbit, was it a punishment perhaps? Had she done something wrong and not realized it? It would be the first time, she never seemed to do anything right, thats how she viewed herself at least; blaming every little mishap or disaster on herself even when it is clearly obvious that she did nothing wrong. "H-hi Harlow..." Still unsure of why she was here, her voice faltered as she greeted the tom, nerves shaking her blue/grey pelt and widening her vibrant blue eyes.
Frigidpaw didn’t want to go. The tom didn’t even want to get out of his nest. But he’d been forced form his best and was trailing behind Enchantedpaw. His head was low and he refused to look anyone in the eye. Any apprentice would love the chance to leave camp and go to another clan’s. But not him, not today. He felt pretty hopeless and useless. Like he wasn’t good enough, but at the same time, he didn’t really care.
"Enchantedpaw, Frigidpaw, I'm glad you made it on time." Springing to his feet, the nervous tom smoothed his chest fur with a couple of licks. He could see neither of them looked particularly excited about this mission. Harlow did his best not to let that color his confidence. They didn't know they should have high expectations for him.
"We're going to be exploring outside the clan borders, isn't that fun? Have either of you been yet?" he prompted.
"Can I just stay here?" Frigidpaw didn't feel like going, even to another clan's territory. Maybe one of his other siblings would wanna go. Or a different student would? The tom just didn't have the energy to make the long journey, or the desire. Looking towards the warrior and the other student, the tom sighed. "I..I guess I'm ready." No point waiting around, the faster they left the faster they'd be back and he could hang out in his nest the rest of the day, or better yet, the rest of the week.
[Well aren't his kids just a big ol' bundle of fun lol]
Enchantedpaw gave Harlow a small smile, the tone of his voice and his words didn't give the idea that this was a punishment so she pushed down her worries as best she could and nodded. "I'm ready, will it just be the three of us though?" She turned to her brother, seeing that he wanted nothing to do with this journey and lightly rested her tail over his shoulder in an attempt to comfort him.
[he deserves this enthusiasm after what a great father he's been cx]
"No, you can't. Icyhaven was due to join us but I don't see my nephew around, so he must be busy. I suppose it will just be us, then." Harlow didn't like the other tom's attitude anyway, and these two were going to be enough of a challenge without his help. "Let's get going! Who wants to carry the rabbit first? Enchantedpaw? We'll trade off." It was heavy prey and he didn't want to fill his jaws before he had a chance to warm then up with his signature clumsy charm.
(I mean they don’t even know they’re related lol. So he’s just a coward for a dad, and ignores them, and abandoned them lol) @turtlenoir
Frigidpaw stepped away, determined he wouldn’t be carrying the huge thing first. Or at all. The tom was drangingst his feet as it was, there was no way he’d be able to carry himself and the prey.
Harlow eyed Frigidpaw and decided to give him a little push. "Whoever holds the prey can't speak," he mused, "a pity." He had a feeling an excuse not to make small talk with him might be sufficiently motivating.
Enchantedpaw wasn't sure how long it would take Harlow to get Frigidpaw to follow, at this rate they would never arrive in Swiftclan with the rabbit... Didn't her brother realize the longer he argued the longer it would take to get this over with. "I'll carry it first, we should get moving." Not waiting for either to say anything she lowered her head and grabbed hold of the large prey. She must be crazy, what if she messed something up, or somehow ruined their offering to the other group? Sighing internally, she lifted the rabbit as high as she could and began to walk, her big blue eyes glistening nervously.
"Great, thank you Enchantedpaw!" Smiling smugly at Frigidpaw over the she-cat's shoulders, he turned and led the way beside the young apprentices, his long strides slowed down to accommodate the weight Enchantedpaw had to carry. He let the silence stretch on beside them for a short while, until they were beyond the confines of the camp and heading into deeper territory, then decided to speak again.
"So, how is your training going? You must be learning some cool battle moves by now."
Enchantedpaw was grateful that Harlow slowed his pace to match hers with the weight of the rabbit, glancing at him from time to time as they walked on the silence growing around the three of them like the calm before a storm. As they moved deeper into the land, she had grown accustomed to the quiet and so when Harlows voice rang out suddenly she flinched before quickly regaining her composure, her ears burning with embarrassment; perhaps he hadn't noticed. Still clutching the prey she attempted to answer his question once realizing her brother was keeping his mouth closed, her words came out muffled and barley understandable. "Ish gowun w--" Midway through trying to speak, a clump of the rabbits fur came lose and she inhaled it, coughing she dropped the creature to the ground.
