Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Bright, viridian eyes and a deep, Russian-blue pelt are Kiwisplash's signature looks, and the she-cat knows it. Born to FallClan parents and raised happily with her siblings, Kiwisplash has known only happiness in her life. Her biggest problems revolve around getting the softest nest or finding the cutest tom to date, so her worldview is slightly...slanted. Carefree and naive, she doesn't really understand the troubles the other clans face or why there is fighting between them. Her ignorance about the ways of the world often lead her to breaking the warrior code more often than not by visiting friends in other clans, hunting on their territory, or exploring the forest on her own. So far, it seems that StarClan has watched out for her, but her escapades might not end so happily in the future...
The new-leaf air had a decidedly muggy feel to it as the sun rose that morning. Kiwikit was an early riser, much to her siblings' disapproval, and sat outside of the nursery watching the dawn break. Her dark gray tail flicked back and forth absently, her eyes tracing the horizon as she thought whatever thoughts it is that kits think. Her fur was much thicker and darker than her siblings', so the heat affected her much more acutely than them, and even now in new-leaf she knew greenleaf would be unbearable. "I wish we could swim in camp," she muttered under her breath, thinking about what some of the apprentices had told her about a Great Waterfall and a rushing river running through their territory.
Chestnutkit was also an early riser. Waking up before her sisters and before her father visited them in the nursery. She woke up early each day to get a few moments of quiet. When she exited the den that morning she noticed she wasn’t alone. “Good morning.” She greeted as she moved past the other kit to go sit in the increasing sunlight. The warmth from the sun warmed her thin frame. “Lovely day isn’t it?” She asked her brown eyes looking back at the other kitten.

"Too hot," mewed Kiwikit with a slight, adorable frown. "You're tiny so it's okay, but my fur is so thick I'm already melting." She considered the question further in silence, however, and finally added, "But it is pretty. I love when the sun comes over the horizon like that and turns the sky all pink and blue and purple. It makes me laugh when I tell the elders the sky is purple and they correct me. I know I'm right, but the queens tell me not to tease the elders since we should respect them." She rolled her eyes, making her opinion on this clear.
“I’m always cold, so I guess I never considered that others like you with thicker fur wouldn’t enjoy days like this. Having thick fur can’t be all the bad though right? I mean my Dad says that it gets cold in bare-leaf so maybe you wouldn’t be as cold as I am?” Chestnutkit pondered out loud and looked up towards the sky. “Don’t listen to the elders. Your correct the sky is purple. I believe the sky can be many different colors. I do wonder how the sky turns all of those pretty colors. Do you think Dovecaper, Hysteriastar, or maybe Amberbird know?” She rambled off the names of one of the clans elders, the leader and the medicine cat. “I guess the queens are right though we need to respect the elders. I heard they can be bossy to apprentices.” She muttered quietly realizing she had talked the other kitten’s ear off. Her quiet morning was long forgotten.

Kiwikit listened attentively, wondering if the other she-kit was much older than she was. Chestnutkit certainly sounded older than her. "I guess thick fur might be good then," she admitted reluctantly. "But I've never felt the cold so I don't know if it's worth how hot it is now." She shook her fur, trying to get a whisper of air to her overheated skin. "I don't know. Hysteriastar kinda scares me so I don't wanna ask him, but maybe Amberbird knows." She looked towards the medicine cat den where the sounds of early-morning preparations were underway. "Wanna come with me to ask him?" pao
Chestnutkit pondered the comment about Hysteriastar. Now that she thought about it the leader did look rather strange. She hadn’t even talked to him, but kept her distanced because of his appearance. The suggestion about visiting her uncle the clan’s medicine cat interested her. “I want to go with you. Medicine cats are supposed to speak with Starclan. So I’m assuming that makes Amberbird really smart. I really want to know if he knows why the sky changes colors. Also maybe he will have an idea to help you on hot days since there isn’t really any water in camp, or we could maybe convince him to take us to a stream or pond?”

"That's a good idea!" Kiwikit seemed to perk up at this suggestion, looking not unlike a wilted flower given fresh water. "I've never met Amberbird before. Do you think he'll be scary like Hystericstar?" She stood up and stretched, looking towards the medicine cat den. She hadn't ever been hurt or ill, so the den remained one of the few areas of camp she'd never been to. It always smelled funny and sometimes scary sounds came out of there, but if Chestnutkit went with her, she was sure she could be brave.
“Amberbird is my kin, but I haven’t seen him much. But that’s probably because he’s important and my dad always says he is busy. I don’t think he’s scary? He looks kind of like my aunt Frostpaw and she’s really nice.” Chestnutkit commented as she tried to picture what Amberbird looked like. Chestnutkit decided to take the lead and stepped in the direction of the medicine cat den. She had only been there a few times regarding her own health. She remembered the over powering herbal smell and the face she made when first scented it. She wondered how Amberbird could live surrounded by all those herbs.

Kiwikit hesitated a moment before letting Chestnutkit's reassurance push her forwards. Falling into step behind him, it was certainly a strange looking procession. "It smells funny," she commented, scrunching up her nose as the rank scent of herbs met her nose. "I don't think I like it..." She wasn't too sure about this - she'd only been a little curious about the sky but walking into the medicine cat den was a whole different ballgame. What if Amberbird yelled at them, or told the queens about it and got them in trouble?
Taking an afternoon siesta out in the warm sun, Amberbird enjoyed his time to do nothing. He'd chosen an apprentice recently and had them reorganizing the herbs. What damage could Chestnutpaw do anyways? While resting he heard voices coming his way. He truly hoped they didn't need his help, because he didn't wanna move.

"Amberbird?" Kiwikit's hesitant voice was soft, but she didn't stop approaching until she was in front of the tom. "I, uh, I mean, Chestnutkit and I have a question for you if you're not too busy...?" She saw that he was resting and assumed that meant he wasn't busy, but she was no medicine cat and had no idea if he was meditating on some herb or treatment so she wanted to be sure.
Glancing towards the kit that'd entered his den, the tom took in the question. Did he have time? Not really. There were herbs to be sorted, collected, and stored. The old ones needed disposed of and there were the ticks on the elders to deal with if the apprentices of the clan hadn't made it there yet. Plus Seablossom, her kits, and Crowngalss needed checked on. SO no, he didn't really have the time, but did he have the choice? Probably not since the kits were already here.
Chestnutkit stood beside her friend. Trying to ignore the over powering scent of herbs. Her brown eyes looking up at the young medicine cat pleading to accept their request. “We thought that since your a medicine cat and you talk to Starclan that you might know the answer. Why does the sky turn colors?” She asked in a sweet voice her eyes shinning with wonder.
Really? That's what the kist wanted to know? How was he supposed to know that?? "Um...I guess because then night can come and StarClan can come out with the stars and moon?" Is that what the kits wanted from him? If not Amberbird had no idea what to tell them.
