Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
There were things that she wished that she could have done for the kittens, namely taken them all out to the patch where the adults would be picking berries later in the night. However, she knew that alone, she would not be able to handle the total number of kittens the group had, even if she was a pro babysitter, which she wasn't. Instead, Avette had decorated the camp with berries that she'd instructed a few followers to gather for her the night before. She'd been up since far before the sun went down, trying to figure out exactly the best place for them. Now, with the moon rising, she was finally ready.
She took a step back to admire her work. Throughout the camp, berries had been hidden, not quite out of view, but well enough that the kittens would actually have to do some looking to find them. Her tail twitched slightly; the Archbishop was somewhat proud of her handiwork, proud enough that her frustrations with Levee had mostly melted away. After a moment, she let out a sigh, before she looked to the student next to her. "You may fetch the participants," she meowed to Kawamura, who nodded and took off.
A few moments later, the eager Youths sat in front of the Archbishop.
"Welcome to berry picking jr," she meowed rather awkwardly; she'd never really been around kittens, and part of her perfectionism in placing the berries just right sprung from this. "I've hidden berries across the camp for you all to find. You can work in teams or alone to find them, and there is a prize for the team or individuals who bring back the highest number." A thought popped in her head - maybe she could incentivize their performance by making the prize a trip to where the big kids could play? Would Leviathan kick her ass if she took a group of children out of camp for winning a game? More than likely. But, was she worried about that too much, especially considering their current relationship hiccup? Not necessarily. "The prize is a secret," she then meowed preemptively, so she wouldn't have to make the decision now to make sure that they were mature enough whatever happened, "but I promise, it'll be worth your time. For every ten berries, I'll give you a hint."

Strawberrykit took her name very seriously, and as such saw herself as the presumptive winner of the challenge. Ginger pelt fluffed out in a way that only made her look even more like a strawberry than she already did, the young she-kit nodded eagerly at the Archbishop, eyes wide. "I'll get the most, I promise!" She made the declaration with the pure naivety that only a kit could have, eyeing up her competition. Would she actually win? Maybe. Did it matter to her? Absolutely. "Since my name is Strawberrykit, it only makes sense that I'll win!" She looked up at Avette with wide eyes, waiting with bated breath for the signal to start.
Avette smiled awkwardly at the kitten. She could remember the days when she was like that. She tended to block out most of her formative moons, but she could still remember how Abrine was always so excited for games like this. "I'm sure you will too," she meowed with a smile, although her tone was hushed. "But don't tell the others. We wouldn't want them to think that I had a favorite." The Archbishop's tone was still probably too formal to be talking to such a young cat, but she was trying, and that was more than she could have anticipated.
Clearing her voice to talk to the whole group, she flicked her tail. "Remember, you can only bring back one strawberry at a time to place in your pile. Don't get caught cheating by bringing back pawfuls at a time!" Her tail flicked back and forth in amusement at this; she could only imagine how many times she'd have to remind the children of that particular fact. "On your mark, get set, go!" And with that, the kittens were released.
Marnie shifted his weight from paw to paw. Unlike Strawberrykit, he wasn't so sure he was going to win, but his gaze was already scanning the camp. What places were the best ones to hide things? Did he want a partner? What was the best strategy for accomplishing the task? Of course, it made sense that he would think this way; after all, he had always been smart beyond his moons and he was up for promotion any day now. He was thinking less like a youth and more like a student by the day. Still, he did have some kittish enthusiasm to him, and the other kitten's excitement was tangible, which meant that maybe she could be an asset? He blinked, before walking over and offering to her his normal, bashful smile. "So you're going to win, huh? Maybe you could use some help getting the ones that are up high?" This, of course, was ironic. Despite being significantly older than her, he was only slightly bigger than her. "We don't have to be partners, if you don't want, but I could still help you?"

"Our secret!" chirped Strawberrykit with an impish smile, trying to wink at the Archbishop and failing, resulting in her just closing her eyes tightly for a second before opening them back up. When Avette called for the hunt to begin, Strawberrykit took off like a flash, only skidding to a stop when Marnie approached her. She looked at the tom with a critical eye as though measuring up his worth, then offered him a toothy smile and nodded. "We can be partners! I'm going to win, you know." She repeated the statement matter-of-factly and then continued. "But I'm sort. So you can get all the tall ones, and I'll get all the low ones!"
Her gaze ranged around the camp for any visible berries and released a squeak of excitement when she caught sight of the pink skin of a berry tucked almost out of sight in the bramble surrounding the camp and raced towards it, barely stopping in time to avoid a face-full of thorns. "Got one!" she crowed triumphantly, running back to Marnie proudly. "See? We'll be good partners!"
Briarkit shook her head at her sister's declaration. Strawberrykit was well-intentioned, but she needed to be reminded that she wasn't the biggest player here. The dark ginger she-kit sought out her own berry, growing frustrated as she was unable to find one as quickly as her sister. But there! Was that a strawberry? Briarkit ran over as fast as her white stocking paws could carry her and stretched out, trying to paw down the berry that was just out of her reach. She hopped a couple of times, each time her outstretched claws a little bit closer to the berry. Finally she was able to hook a claw into it, and the berry fell to the ground and rolled away from her. Briarkit chased it down and grabbed it, turning around and running back to Avette. She dropped the strawberry in front of the Archbishop and turned in Strawberrykit's general direction, loudly meowing, "Look Strawberrykit! I got a berry, too. You've got competition." @ian eventide

Pearkit smiled fondly at his sisters and their competitiveness, but the trait was lost on him. He felt better watching the game than participating in it himself, but he wasn't sure if that was allowed. They'd called the kits participants hadn't they? With a sigh, he rose onto his paws and started to hunt for the berries too. Pearkit wanted to at least look like he was trying anyways. Yet when he detected the slightest bit of pink at the edge of the highrock, where he'd seen their leader hold a few ceremonies, he only blinked up at it slowly. The ginger white tom moved from side to side as he stared up at the berry and then he glanced around at his competition. On further thought, he really didn't want to get in anyone's way and his sisters were so very interested in the game. Turning back to the highrock, he released a loud "Oh" and hoped another kit would swoop in for the fruit instead.
At the sound, Briarkit whipped her tiny head back around. She searched for where the noise had come from and had an a-ha moment as she saw her brother and a strawberry. Briarkit scampered toward Pearkit, meowing loudly, "Pearkit! There's a berry there!" The ginger she-kit skidded to a stop beside him, pushing him out of the way to leap up at the berry. She stretched her claws out, trying to hook it. Unfortunately she just could not reach. Briarkit thought back to Strawberrykit and Marnie joining up. Not to be outdone or to miss out on berries because she was too prideful to accept help, Briarkit looked back to Pearkit. "Sorry for shoving you," she apologized halfheartedly. "Let me stand on your shoulders to get this berry and I'll let you join me?" Flurryofstars

Pearkit staggered back a tail-length as his sister pushed him aside. Anyone else may set him the wrong way with that, but it was Briarkit. Plus, he was too busy inwardly-celebrating that his plan had worked. He had lured in another kit after all! But his sister was struggling to get the berry... When Briarkit turned to him and proposed an alliance (more than asked for help), he cast a sideways glance at Strawberrykit. Would he be choosing favorites if he worked with either of them? He didn’t want to make the other feel bad, but then again, Strawberrykit was already teamed up with someone else.
Pearkit laughed awkwardly, “Uh, yeah. Why not.” He padded over to the foot of the rock and lowered his head so she could climb up without kicking his skull open. “I barely felt you anyway,” he lied with a hidden pout.
