Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The fresh blanket of snow over the ground sparkled in the dying sunlight, trees dripping as ice melted from the branches. It was a pretty sight, sure, especially with the twilight skies overhead. It brought longer nights too. A gust of wind was a chilly reminder as to why the season wasn't a favorite. It wasn't his favorite, that was certain. Voltfox walked along a stream where the water was frozen in patches. He was on his way to check the waterfalls in the northwestern part of the territory. He wondered if upstream was in the same half-iced condition. If water still flowed and too much froze over down this way, he'd have to keep in mind potential flooding later on when things thawed.
Soaringbird, Burningstar's sister, and currently mother to 4 kits. Was out strolling, she'd left her children in her sisters care. Both to give Burningstar time with the kits they'd both come to adore, and get them... acclimated to Burningstar's mate.
Her tail flicked, she was still displeased with the fact that they'd had to let a BrookClan cat into their clan. But even though she loathed it, and that she wished she could've thrown Kerrigan out by her tail, she had to admit it was the best course of action. It allowed them to keep the kits, it prevented Burningstar's reputation from being tarnished... and her sister did seem happy with Lindon around.
And admittedly Lindon wasn't as bad as say... well Soaringbird couldn't say she wasn't all that familiar with Kerrigan's family, but at least he wasn't just a carbon copy of his sister. That would've been really trying for the silver tabby.
As he continued his mini-patrol, Voltfox's mind wandered to the clan situation. If it was him in charge... well, matters would've been handled much differently. Although he knew in the back of his mind it was best he took a few notes on Burningstar's diplomacy, a certain eloquence he was on the opposite spectrum of. Voltfox had nerve, perhaps too much brazen confidence. Though none of that really mattered yet. Not from the rank he held. For now, if cats could truly prove their loyalty, he had no ground to stand on as to deny them. The standards he expected to be high. His mind continued to wander through the subject, mulling over some of the same thoughts and wondering if maybe blood right was something of the past. It was around that moment he caught scent of Soaringbird, and he stopped to make note of where she was; not far of from him, the winds blowing her scent toward him. Sitting at the water edge, he expected to see the she-cat at any moment, his ears pricked toward the undergrowth so he'd hear her coming.
Soaringbird emerged from the undergrowth and blinked when she spotted Voltfox and he was looking at her. "Hello Voltfox, how are you doing?" She asked padding over to him. "Mind if I sit here?" She asked gesturing to the spot beside him. "It's been a while since I got out of camp, I love looking after my kits, but I'll be happy when they're old enough to be apprentices and I can get back to warriors duties. I've been back in NightClan for a few moons and all I've really gotten to see has been the inside of camp and I'm looking forwards to flexing my skills again."
Just as he expected, there she was. He nodded and shuffled a bit to the side as a silent approval. "I couldn't handle being stuffed up in camp all the time, it'd drive me insane. What you do is a little different though. Raising kits, I mean." Though even that sounded a bit like torture to Voltfox. It was a good thing he had no kits of his own. "You got some time to yourself now though, I see. Could still be 'flexing' those skills if you wanted to. Probably not a bad idea to really." He shrugged. "Just with everything in the forest being as hectic as it is too, I guess."
Soaringbird sighed, "It has become pretty hectic, I supposed it was only a matter of time before chaos ensued." She shook her head. "Though I will admit, the victory over SpringClan is exciting, though I'm not too happy hearing that BrookClan and SunClan have taken the kits, and are keeping the two clans captive on SunClan's territory.... I'm worried that SunClan might turn them into their... followers and then we'll have a massive cult on our borders." Then her fur flattened. "At least... that's what I worry about. I don't think that'd come to pass, I hope that's not what comes to pass. But it's worrying all the same. I know we're on the same side... supposedly, but I don't trust that foxheart Foxstar. Kerrigan's... iffy. But, Foxstar. I'd never deal with her."
She flicked her tail. "Sorry, I didn't mean to dive right into my fretting and concerns for all that's going on... It's working out for our benefit really, we have SpringClan territory now, we have access to DayClan and SunClan territory as well, so even if SunClan did become massive, or turn on us, at least we know now more about how their clan functions and the lay of their land... sorta. SpringClan's territory I know Burningstar is excited about, has she told you already that she'll be going back there soon? She intends to look it over and see what we can take from it, and if we can use it as a launching point for if need be a battle party to raid WinterClan if WinterClan doesn't give up some of our cats. Smallspiral's brother apparently disappeared there along with a few other cats you know, so Burningstar's keen to correct Shiverstar's mistake and go retrieve them."
