• Cat Name and Bio: Voidseeker ♀ What is it like to strive for perfection? Not perfection in the eyes of an over-critical mother or in the color of one's pelt, but perfection of soul? To seek that goal which every cat struggles towards, whether they know it or not? Though she won't be able to give you a full answer, try asking Voidseeker. The gray-brown tabby she-cat might seem like a font of infinite wisdom to some, but she will be the first to tell you that she doesn't know very much at all in the grand scheme of things. Her mother gave her the somewhat ominous name of Voidkit when she was delivered, not crying like her siblings but laying there, perfectly content as the medicine cat tended to the other kits first. She seemed like a blank spot in the world to her mother, undemanding and guileless. Some may assume the name was given in hatred, but quite the opposite. Her mother appreciated Voidkit immensely, often using the she-kit's ascetic nature to care for the other, more demanding kits first. In Voidkit her mother saw a freebie, a kit she didn't have to worry about and could depend upon to help her with the kits. This may have worked to her mother's benefit, but it was also a truly formative experience for the young Voidkit. She learned that she could provide the most happiness by serving as a vessel for help. She allows StarClan to work through her by making herself available to any in need, so long as her help with please them and help make their lives easier.
This self-sacrificing trait was picked up young by Voidseeker, but became one of her defining characteristics. The clan soon came to understand that if they needed help or found themselves behind on their work they could turn to Voidseeker. She never said no, never complained, and always left them with a smile. Some began to abuse Voidseeker's nature and found ways to push their work off onto her, leading to her returning, exhausted, to her nest only hours before the sun rose in order to do it all again. Still, she said nothing and instead put her head down and worked doubly as hard to ensure the job was done correctly. Eventually, like she knew it would, her unwillingness to break and give them the meltdown they expected caused guilt to sink in, and before the end of the moon those that sought to abuse her kindness were instead helping her with her chores instead.
This is really the crux of who Voidseeker is. Hardworking, allocentric, and above all, patient. Because she understands that growing into the best version of one's self doesn't happen overnight, but takes many moons of nurturing and tending to before the seed will sprout. Her voice is soft, unassuming, and often utilized by the queens of the clan to sing lullabies to put the kits to sleep. The moons spent visiting with the clan's elders have filled her with FallClan's rich history, allowing her to serve as a resource for leaders and others who would like information about how the clan had functioned in the past. Though somewhat average as a hunter and a fighter, her determination to always do the best that she can has led her to practice enough that her skills are quite advanced for a warrior her age.
However, like every cat in the entire world, Voidseeker is not just made of good. To every yang there must also be a yin. With this pure-hearted desire to help her clanmates succeed comes a somewhat domineering side that she often likes to keep hidden. As an expert in many somewhat niche areas, she expects her advice to be heeded, so when a cat might challenge or criticize her suggestion, she may respond sharply or leave them to fail and come back to her, repentant. Her protective nature also leads her to become suspicious of outsider clans and cats, not always trusting that they too have the best interests of the clan at heart. This may come off at first as close-minded, it comes from a place of deep love for her clan. Still, it is a bad habit she consciously seeks to break every time she finds a stray thought wandering towards it.
She is of a fairly average size for a she-cat, with enough muscle to carry her on long journeys or use in tough fights. Her light gray fur is always neatly groomed, as she believes that outward appearances belay inward serenity. She might not be especially spectacular to look at, indeed appearing entirely average outwardly at first, her eyes are a startlingly bright teal. Many find her direct gaze to be almost disconcerting to hold, and it is no surprise why. Voidseeker reads other cats as one might read a story, thoroughly and reflexively. She tends to catch the smallest tell, from a flick of the ear to the wince of an eye. Her perceptiveness if what allows her to help her clanmates to find the problems they face and tackle them head on, but like her willingness to help, it can often be a little off-putting to those unaccustomed to her nature. Nevertheless, those that get to know and understand appreciate that she is a once-in-a-generation cat that truly believes the best of her clan and her clanmates, and can truthfully be said to always, always put her clanmates first.
• How Will Your Character Work With Staff?: So, Voidseeker is, on the surface, a really easy cat to get along with. I think Hystericstar and Amberbird will see this right away and use that to make their decision about deputy. However, once they get to know her a little better I think her more stubborn, "my way or the highway" attitude will come out. She believes that because she wants what's best for the clan, her plans are the only ones that will work. This could lead to a little head-butting between the three of them. She does genuinely want to help, though, so if she sees that their suggestions will still help she'll back down and support them wholeheartedly. I think being deputy will be a good chance for Voidseeker to realize that she's not the only one to want to help FallClan, and it will hopefully knock a little sanctimoniousness out of her.
