Apple Blossom Negative emotions are following you like a dark storm cloud. In order to remedy this do something kind or helpful for another cat and you’ll feel like yourself in no time!
Twilightkit didn't think he had negative emotions, but if the great Soothsayer Autumngossamer thought he did, then surely there must be something bothering him that even he didn't understand. He knew that there wasn't a whole lot a kit could do but maybe he could brighten someone's day. Granted, he didn't really like talking to cats outside of the nursery much, but he'd have to make an exception today to get his conscience clear.
Some of the materials from the bone art event were still strewn around here in there. He'd found a small animal skull and painted some designs on it before glueing golden sunflower petals around its base to resemble a mane. Twilightkit was creative but, well, he wasn't the best artist. This was clearly a kit's work. But he was proud of it and made up his mind to offer it as a gift to the next cat to approach the fresh-kill pile.

The lanky tom was seriously beginning to dislike becoming so involved in clan life. What had begun as saving Littlestar's life later turned into him become her personal guard and now she was giving him apprentices to mentor like he was a real warrior. Ridiculous. Singedwolf was an initiate for a reason and the leader seemed intent on ignoring that. Exhausted after sleepless days of keeping an eye on the leader and balancing his needy apprentice, the burned tomcat stalked toward the kill pile to find something to eat before he went to sleep.
Of course it was Singedwolf, the most notorious initiate. For whatever reason he resisted the chance to prove himself to the Sun God and earn his true name. It made Twilightkit frown while at the same time it filled him with a sudden burst of... hope? It was surely no coincidence that the first cat to approach the fresh-kill pile was one who clearly was fighting his own demons. Someone who really could use a pick-me-up.
The gray-and-white tom kit padded up to the scarred tom and placed he decorated skull carefully down at his paws. He flinched when he met the other cat's eyes initially but quickly relaxed and cracked only forced a smile. Twilightkit wasn't the most social kit in the nursery so walking up to a cat he didn't know pushed him just a little out of his comfort zone, "I made this for you!"
He ignored the kit when he first approached, focused on picking out his meal. It was bold of the small cat to come near him at all, but he was a tamer cat now and far less likely to murder the kit without a direct order. Singedwolf glanced down as the skull was laid at his paws, then flicked his gaze back up at Twilightkit. The concept of a gift was so foreign to him he didn't process what was happening until he was explicitly told, and then he looked down at the shabby gift once, twice more.
"What the hell is this?" he demanded. He pushed over the skull with one paw, like he was searching for a piece of prey hidden beneath, because why would anyone give him something useless like a bunch of bones? Did they think he was going to decorate his nest with them to scare off other cats? His lips drew back as he loomed over the young cat, the corner of his burned mouth twitching as he spat out, "what do you mean, you made this for me?"
Twilightkit bristled at Singedwolf's tone. He was proud of his work and defensive of it even though at this point he wasn't in ownership of it anymore. He winced as the initaite rolled it around with his paw but held back the desire to swipe it away and keep it steady. Instead, he focused on his breathing, willing himself to calm down before he replied to Singedwolf's questions.
"It's just a present. I made it with leftovers from the bone art even a few days ago. Autumngossmer told me that my horoscope was to do something kind for another cat so I decided to give it to you," He explained, his jaw only slightly clinched, his turquoise eyes searching Singedwolf's for a positive reaction. All he had to do was get the other tom to smile, even if it was only for a second, and then he'd be a clear to return back to business as usual, "Do you... do you like it?"
He actually believed in that stuff? Singedwolf didn't even bother to learn about the horoscopes; he assumed they were worthless tricks to keep cats acting in line. It was hard to believe they might actually work, even on a kit, but here they were. Some prophecy had given Twilightkit the courage to come up to him and present him with this worthless junk. He had half a mind to chew him out, but there was no point to it.
"You could've given it to anyone else. Literally anyone else. A rock."
Twilightkit bristled. He wasn't one who was easily ruffled but right now he had left himself be vulnerable. What a mistake. Singedwolf's careless words hit their mark and brought forth the stormy emotions the gray-and-white kit's horoscope had told him needed remedied, "I decided that whoever approached the fresh-kill pile next would get this gift. So I guess you could say I left it in the paws of the Sun God. I can see why he would want to brighten the day of a cat like you..." His words had an edge to them but his fur was already beginning to smooth out. He'd made his point and was proud of it. That's right. If he had given his gift to a cat who was usually chipper, it wouldn't have really been helping them, would it have? No, better to give it to a grump like Singedwolf, someone who really needed some light in his life, "... you will take it, won't you? I worked really hard on it."
Singedwolf huffed. So he was the victim purely because of bad luck? Figures.
"Yeah, fine, if it makes you go away," he muttered. He really didn't see how Twilightkit put a lot of work into it, but whatever, he could ditch it behind the warrior's den once the kit left him alone. He hesitated, then reached out a paw to take it, staring unhappily at the creation. "How very nice. Thanks."
"You're welcome!" Twilightkit purred, reaching up on his tip-toes to touch his nose to Singedwolf's. It felt really good giving another cat a gift and he found that he had an extra spring in his step as he pulled away. He wasn't sure what to say next, so he took a page from Mousekit's book and parroted one of her catchphrases, "May the Sun God bless the rest of your day!"
Before Singedwolf could reply, the little gray-and-white tom scampered away.
