Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The moon was no more than a claw in the sky, though, it wasn't like Flamingstar could see it. The dense fog that swept over the forest kept the night sky invisible. It was difficult to even see her paws in front of her. However, although she couldn't see, scents were still just as strong. As the pregnant feline passed through the forest, doing her usual patrol alone, a familiar scent hit her nose. The queen halted, frozen in disbelief. She sniffed the air again to be sure she wasnt mistaken. Her heart lurched when the scent grew stronger. "Whose there?" She called out, the fur along her spine risen.
The dark red she-cat had gotten herself lost in the strange land that belonged to NightClan, she was unable to see through the fog and unlike MoonClan's territory, she didn't know this land inside and out. Feeling like she had made the worst decision of her life, Pinesong curled up under a bush, in hopes someone would eventually come along and find her. It felt like nine lifetimes before she heard a familiar voice call out. It was the voice she had been longing to hear. "Flamingstar? Is that you?" she responded, slowly rising to her paws, attempting to peer through the dark fog.
Flamingstar's anxiety began to rise as her heart leaped into her throat as the familiar voice confirmed her fears. She hadn't spoken to her sister since before she became leader. She swallowed hard before taking a step toward the bush. She saw two pair of familiar eyes staring back at her. "Pinesong?" Flamingstar's voice was quiet and shaky as she spoke her sister's name.
A relieved sigh escaped Pinesong. She stepped towards her sister, a happy purr escaping. "I've was looking for you and I got lost!" she said, walking stiffly up to Flamingstar and touching her sisters nose. Her flanks were noticeably swollen and she was due soon, resting on the hard ground hadn't done her any favors.
Flamingstar retreated a couple steps, flinching away from her sister's greeting. "What are you doing here?" She asked, her eyes narrowing. Her and her sister may have had a heart to heart before Flamingstar joined Nightclan but they hadn't spoken since. The Nightclan leader had stirred up so much trouble as leader, she was sure her sister was here to lecture her or tell her to stop. Or perhaps she had come to spy, though, that was unlikely. Flamingstar's gaze flicked to Pinesong's belly. She still hadn't had her kits though she looked very close to having them. She should not be wandering around so close to kitting.
Pinesong looked slightly hurt when Flamingstar retreated. He stared at her sister for several moments, suddenly nervous that Flamingstar wouldn’t take her in. “I want to join you in NightClan.” Pinesong said, meeting her sisters gaze pleadingly. “I miss you. I miss our friendship. I miss hunting and training beside you and I know you want to know your kin.” Pinesong stated motioning towards her flanks.
Flamingstar didnt answer at first. As much as she wanted to brush up against her sister, she couldn't. Flamingstar had a reputation to uphold. If she showed too much kindness, other clans would take advantage of Nightclan. The Nightclan leader met her sister's gaze with professionalism. Flamingstar looked elegant and powerful. A leafy crown curved around her ears, giving her the image of an empress. "I see...well, I suppose I can't leave you out here while your so close to kitting." She responded at last, narrowing her eyes. "Follow me. I'll show you to the Nightclan camp." The ginger leader turned and began to lead the way through the fog, carrying herself like a leader. Stiff, yet graceful despite her swollen belly.
"You're expecting too?" Pinesong exclaimed as she flanked her sister. She gazed at Flamingstar with bright pale blue eyes. "Our kits will get to grow up together!" She purred excitedly, already imagining the memories their kits would make together.
"Uh, yeah" Flamingstar responded, moving slightly to put space between her and her sister. It seemed as if Pinesong saw them as never being apart but Flamingstar hadn't been super close to her sister since she was first made a warrior. She wasn't sure how she would feel showing affection. The ginger leader kept walking, head high and a serious expression on her face. "Where is your mate? He's not coming too, is he?" There was an edge to her voice as if letting Pinesong know that she was welcomed but her mate was not.
