Rhiannon was an early riser. The sky was still cotton candy pink, its golden light washing over her fur, colouring her dark fur into a faint gold, as she rose from the den, her shoulders rippling in a stretch, before pulling herself out of the den, a yawn still leaving her throat. She enjoyed the faint light of day, and as summer approached, the sun seemed to stay longer in the sky. Blinking the sleep from her eyes, she glanced to their food pile. It wasn't empty yet, but it certainly wouldn't feed all the hungry cats when they finally decided to wake up. Great.
Glancing around, she could see a few cats beginning their early evening duties. Immediately moving towards the camp entrance, she passed a tom. Of course, she didn't know his name, but it didn't really matter to her. "Are you free to go for a hunt?" her lilting voice was friendly enough, though it didn't seem to reflect in her body language, "the lazybones are gonna want breakfast."

The tom blinked his alert green eyes, the sky's lights bouncing off his white and grey fur. Luminescence had been up for sometime and had decided to go for a morning walk to help wale him up. He hadn't expected to bump into a cat so early as now and especially to be asled to hunt. He didn't mind being asked but it still caught him off guard.
At first he didn't recognize the cat as he had not really talked to her, but after a moment he realized this must have been Rhiannon, Hywel's sister. Or she looked like how he had described her, Luminescence never really got the chance to talk or meet her until now. "Uh yeah I'm fine going on a hunt for some prey this morning...Rhiannon correct?"

The look of surprise was palpable on her face, quickly morphing into a sense of confusion. Wait, had she met this cat? She knew she was absolutely horrible with names–you travel for long enough and names just become white noise–but frankly, she couldn't remember talking to him. She'd at least remember a face, right? The she-cat hesitated, rolling her jaw the way she did when she was deep in thought, before furrowing her brow.
"Sorry but have we met?" she frowned, "I don't actually recall your name." Her words were blunt, perhaps even rude, but not in a mean way.

"Oh uh yeah I guess it would be weird I know your name when uh we haven't talked yet. Hehe...well I'm uh Luminescence, I know your brother Hywel. He's a nice cat and talks alot about you." Oops, well that wasn't weird or anything. The small tom didn't realize how weird it would be to have someone know your name you hadn't met yet, let alone know you were talked about. I mean it couldn't have been too odd since it was from her brother and not some random cat in the clan. Still, smooth Luminescence, very smooth and subtle.

Her brow was still furrowed, observing the other tom. Huh, so Hywel could make friends after all, she thought dryly, a faint smirk on the edge of her lips. "Good to know he's a gossip, as usual," she spoke, her humour rather dry, "pleasure to meet you, I suppose, though I'm not sure what he'd talk about if it's about me." Of course, she knew Hywel talked about her sometimes; they were the only two on the road for plenty of the time, but it was still weird to know that another cat knew of her before she knew him.
Her tail lashed in a gesture, asking him to follow along as she moved alongside him, step by step, though in a much more hurried pace than her brother often walked in. "So, what did he say about me? Nice things...I hope?" Unlike her sibling, Rhiannon seemed much more impatient, and if possible, even more removed from a situation than Hywel was, as if all her words were more polite than friendly.

Although somewhat caught off gaurd at her strong personality he followed suit, thinking of the things Hywel had told him. "Well he said you were a very...strong cat. That you were feisty and good with your claws but were a nice feline." It was the best way to put it and he wasn't wrong about the claws and the strong personality. After all Hywel had said she could be a bit of a handful. However Luminescence wanted to get to know the she cat and not get Hywel in trouble with his sister.

She snorted at his words. "Well if you see him again, tell him flattery gets him nowhere," she replied smoothly with a roll of her eyes. Her brother was always either trying to mess with her anyway, despite the fact that he was the closest cat she'd trust. Still, any cat Hywel got a long with, she'd at least attempt to do the same. Whether that'd go anywhere was the real question.
"So tell me, how did you two meet?" she spoke, as if gauging the tom with her sharp gaze, "can't imagine it was something to do with patrols or work, if I know my brother well enough."

"Well your somewhat correct...I was still new to the area and was working on my hunting skills as well as learning the territory. He stumbled upon me and showed me the lake. Hywel taught me some cool moves to catching fish as I was well, not the best at it. We found we had similarities to us and that is what I think drew us together. I'm happy he took the time to get to know me otherwise I don't think I would have been brave enough to have talked to him." Luminescence was lost in his thoughts for a moment before snapping back and added,"I do hope your brother likes me in the same way as I do. He truly is an amazing...friend." Yeah friend was the word he was looking for...exactly that.
The smaller tom turned towards Rhiannon, head somewhat cocked in her direction. "How have you been enjoying the clan?'

Rhiannon gave the other cat a look over, an arched brow almost questioning the other tom's testimony for a moment, before turning back to the path. As much as Hywel always did the whole 'judge all of her potential flings as a protective brother' thing, Rhiannon did the same. After all, she rarely trusted anyone, and frankly, none of the cats that had been interested in her brother were...less than satisfactory in Rhiannon's opinion. She didn't really give Luminescence a second thought, certain he'd be just the same.
"Yeah well, he's a nice guy," she replied with a polite smile, "it's really me you have to impress."
She shrugged as if she hadn't said anything insulting at all. "MoonClan's all right. Not exactly what I'm expecting but I suppose there's worth in staying for a little while at least. The cats here have their own customs and it's interesting, what they're searching for, but if if it's not what we're looking for, we won't be here for long. Though I suppose you're from around here? You're not born here, so where are you from?"

The tom noted what Rhiannon said and to remember she was unsurprisingly as protective of her brother as he was with her. She was most definitely going to be a pawful for sure.
To her bext question he answered as honestly as he had to her brother. "I came from a kitypet I assume but I don't remember my mother...I do remember the twologs that adopted me. I was with them for a short time before they found me to be some sort of nuisance, dumped me in a box and took me far away from their territory. Probably so I couldn't follow them back but it would have been no use, I was barely even old enough to have passed as an apprentice at that age." There was a thoughtful pause for a moment before he continued on. "I got lucky...luck was literally all that kept me alive. I managed decently but it was a barn cat that taught me the basics to truly stay alive. I wondered here and there until I eventually found this place. While this clan certainly has its flaws its the best place I've stayed at, save the barn of course." He definitely missed his old friend and hoped he was well.

(omg sozzles ahah I just got out of quarantine so I've been out and about more so I haven't been on as much)
Huh, a former kittypet? She was surprised he was still alive. Frankly, Rhiannon assumed all of them were spoiled little brats, having never truly fended for their own. Even barn cats were usually way out of their depth when it came to being out in the wild, the real wild.
"I'm surprised you're alive," she replied with a snort, "I mean, usually kittypets don't survive outside of their little dens. That's pretty rare, to see one of your kind out here and all. It's not even about luck mate; luck doesn't fill your stomach when it's empty." Whatever she meant by the words, it seemed a strange way to give a backhanded compliment. Still, a cat who could survive in the wild was interesting, to say the least. It meant the other cat must have some talent somewhere. She still didn't know if he was worthy to be considered an equal, but it was a start.
"So how do you find hunting?" she inquired, "it's different out here than hunting in a barn, isn't it?"

(It's all good! I totally understand that ^-^)
The compliment was odd but none the less he took it and it's not like she was wrong. He had met quite a few entitled house cats that he knew would hate the various temperatures alone and complain on how hard that was to endure, so trying to live out here would have been impossible for them. In a way he was somewhat grateful his past owners had abandoned him...he hadn't turned entitled but he surely didn't thank them for almost taking him to his early grave.
"I would have to say so for sure," replied Luminescence. "For one the tom there knew all the spots mice were at and since there were so many hunting wasn't as bad. Even with him being there the infestation was great so he never went hungry. However since there was so many mice there was no need to hunt for other things...seeing all the varieties of different prey was refreshing. Not that I dislike mice now but having say a bird or vole is most definitely appetizing. True I could have stayed there and life would have been somewhat easy but...it didn't feel right being there. Can't explain why but I wanted to travel and learn more about the world around me."

(yeah RIP I've just been dying on the inside because real life is stressful LOL but also if you happen to have a discord or skype I'm low key on there more rip)
She smirked at that. Of course she had her own preference for prey; she wasn't fond of squirrels, too much fur to pick out of her teeth, but rabbits, she enjoyed. Fish too, if she was, to be honest, more so than most cats around MoonClan did at least. "So not a fan of mice," she mused, "didn't see you as a bird kind of cat, but I guess I can see it now; how do you catch them? I find them a bit...difficult, since they're able to fly and all."
If anything, Rhiannon understood not feeling right in staying somewhere. That was her entire life. She was a wanderer by heart and wanderer by nature. "I get what you mean; MoonClan must speak to you a lot if you're deciding that this is the place you wish to stay, no?"

(Also no worries! Life in general has been pretty chaotic for everyone so I totally understand the stress going on in your life. Things are def wacky as is without personal life adding to it XP )
"Birds it took a long time to figure out how to hunt them, but for me I've always been decent at jumping at good heights. I leap at them as they are about to take off and catch them as they go up. If they move a certain way before I get ready to leap I won't bother chasing after them. It took a lot of practice but I think it's worth it. I'll show you sometime if you ever want to learn how."
He paused at her remake and actually thought about it. "Well...it is nice and ummm I've met a few cats worth staying here for so far." The tom felt the fur on his face get uncomfortably warm and tried not to look too conspicuous. "You seem to have been here for a good short bit, do you plan on settling down here permanently?"
