Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
It had been harder this time than it had been in moons past. Perhaps this was just because it had been a long time since she had had any intel on her daughter. Bria was good at going under the radar, and, although the small brown cat was good at finding information anyways out on her, she had been distracted by other things since she left Absum Lux. She couldn't exactly explain why her eye hadn't been kept on her daughter, but it hadn't. That had made it harder than normal to weed out her residency, but Shae had been determined. After all, what kind of mother would she be if she didn't introduce her husband to her child? With that guiding her paws, Shae had gone to work on locating the other feline.
"She should be around here somewhere, or my intel is wrong, and if my intel is wrong, someone will lose a paw." The smile that she wore on her face made the words coming out of her lips even more unnerving. "If the second litter is around, she'll have them too. Pretty sure at least Finn is dead, but I'm sure Kallie and Wes are as well. Weakness was never befitting of our blood, and mother nature had a way of removing the weaknesses. Lane could still be around, or maybe she split off from Bria."
She paused for a moment, before padding straight up to the abandon building's broken door. "Lovely, I know you're in there! It's been so long since we've met, and I've brought someone to meet you!"
Alastor padded beside his, soon to mate. Humming to himself cheerfully as she chatted on. He was glad to meet more of Shae's family in the hopes that they were more like her. He had no family to speak of so the idea of having ties to anyone was still foreign to him but not entirely unwelcome. "I'm sure no one would be foolish enough to lie to you my dear!" he purred reassuringly stroking his tail along her flank. The fact that she had a family didn't deter him from here. if anything he saw it as a challenge to outlast the others who came before him.
with all the yowling going on outside the black she-cat found herself rudely awake from her nap and went to poke her head outside of the door, where her pale blue eyes met Shae's the rest od her completely invisible in the darkness. "What's all the noise about?" her lips curling back into a slight snarl. Normally she was more hospitable but she wasn't entirely fond of being woken up outside of her violation. "What do you want?"
“Wis,” called the sleepy voice, “what are you on about out there?” She had slept through her mother’s voice, which was surprising in that her mother’s voice was the stuff of nightmares. She rose to her paws at the sound of her sister’s snarl, suddenly completely aware. What was going on? She moved quickly to the entrance, her fur rising at the sight of...
“What a surprise, but also how disrespectful? Is that any way to speak to Mommy?” purred the small brown tabby. “It’s been so long since I’ve seen you! You’ve grown so big! See, I knew leaving you with your sister was the best idea for you.” She leaned forward to lick her daughter, but it wasn’t the younger one that got kissed. Instead, it was her older daughter. Delight filled her eyes. “Bria! My source was correct! Are the others here, too?”
“You are not welcomed here, Shae. Get out now, and take your-.” “Just as feisty as I remember you! Alastor, these are my daughters, Wisteria and Bria. Girls, this is your step father.”
Was it bad if Wisteria had been relieved that her older sister had taken the lick intended for her? She didn't think so. Still she flinched away all the same when she recognized her mother. She was just about to turn her attention to Alastor when her mother had dropped that delightful... little bomb on them. The red tom was huge, bigger than her mother, and bigger than her. The yellow toothy grin was enough to unsettle even her, all he was missing was the blood on his face and he would truly be the stuff of nightmares.
"Our... What?" Wis asked, not quite sure if she heard the other cat right.
"Your step father!" Alastor announced louder, as if though the volume was what had tripped the black she-cat up. He watched as she actually recoiled from his words, seemingly stepping slightly behind her older sister. "Not Welcome!? is that anyway to treat your family my dears!?" He asked, placing a paw on the broken door and pushing it in so that the whole thing swung inwards, allowing Shae and himself to step inside with ease.
"If you step one foot closer to her, I will slit your throat and watch you bleed on the tile floor. I don't care who you are, or what you're supposed to be. Stay back." When the door opened and the two cats were able to be quickly let in, Bri found herself pushing her sister back further. If he was anything like Shae was, and she had an inkling he was, protecting her sister was going to be her first priority. The threat wasn't hollow, either. If Bria saw Alastor lift one paw towards her sister, towards the cat she had raised as her own since she was barely old enough to be weaned, Bria Everlasting would kill him, or die trying. Shae grinned at the interaction. She could smell Bria's fear; despite her daughter's quick tongue, despite the fact her daughter knew more about fighting than Shae herself would ever know, despite it all, Bria was afraid. Bria, her first daughter, would never be able to hide the fear that Shae's appearances always invoked.
"Now, there will be no need for that," she cooed, glancing around the house. "Wonderful place you've got here, mmm? And well guarded- it took me nearly a week to find you! You know as well as I do that that's ... odd for my ability to track." She flicked her tail. "That was intentional." "Oh, don't tell me things that I already knew, beloved." She watched as Bri's skin visibly crawled as she called her that, before glancing over to Alastor. "I'm so sorry that our daughters are being so rude! Generally, they are perfectly respectful. Must be because they've been so long without a mother's touch." Even the eye that had been made mostly blind by the fire seemed to sparkle. "Maybe they'll soften up a little bit if you tell them a bit about yourself? Hmm, Wisteria? Will that help settle your nerves, to know more about the newest addition to our family?"
