Nikkohydrangea had felt a massive sense of pride getting his very own apprentice to train. In WinterClan every mentor he got was boring and when they stopped doing one on one mentorship he had skipped training sessions altogether. But that was the issue, he wasn't especially skilled in combat or hunting. He had partial knowledge in healing, that was just a necessity his mom made him learn growing up. Aside from helping out around camp he wasn't exactly skilled. Still Nikkohydrangea tried to actually grow up and wake up early to train his apprentice.
"Hey, we have a lot to go over today, are you ready?"

Buzzingpaw
SunClan Apprentice
The Boisterous
Buzzingpaw came barreling out of the apprentice's den straight towards his new mentor "I'm late, I'm late, I'm really really late" however instead of stopping he kept running right on past his mentor, in his panic to meet with him on time only to coming to a skidding stop, loosing his footing as his paws kept moving in the air and his hit the side of the sandstone gorge sending him tumbling to the ground. Just as quickly he was back on his paws making his way back "Yeah, Yeah. I'm ready!!!!"
"Are you always like this?" Nikkohydrangea asked jokingly as he led the way.
Unlike his mom he didn't react with a grumpy attitude when a cat acted their age. Sure Buzzingpaw was a bit annoyingly energetic, but most newly made apprentices were. He definitely wasn't one of those apprentices ever, but he recognized in himself he wasn't normal. With each step he felt a bit more confident, sure he wasn't good at fighting or hunting, but he could still do both, he was average. If Buzzingpaw excelled he would just ask another cat to join him to mentor him more, this was going to be fine.
"Today I want you to just have fun, no chores and no training you don't want to. It's your first day so just enjoy yourself. While you do though think about what kind of chores you want to volunteer to do. You're going to have to do them, but I can get you any chore you want so if there's any that you specifically would hate I can make sure you never have to do them," He promised.

Buzzingpaw
SunClan Apprentice
The Boisterous
Buzzingpaw blinked, bot sure exactly what his mentor meant by that "Yeah I am just being me" he shrugged but even as he did so he seemed to be dancing from one paw to the other "Oh that sounds fun!!!! I don't mind any chores, so I will volunteer to do any chose that needs doing!!! I don't mind getting my paws dirty, so long as it is helping my clan!!" he seemed a little to happy about the prospect of doing such labor, but it was just his style. "Some one has to do it, so it might as well be me"
"Oh cool, I actually really like doing chores more than warrior work, but because of how many apprentices we have I hardly ever get to now that I'm not an initiate anymore," Nikkohydrangea admitted.
He waved his thick blue grey and white tail for the tom to follow him and walked him through the territory, "So there are a few important things to know. Like over there is the Janus den, no one's allowed in there unless their family of the janus so don't go unless one of them tells you to follow them. Everywhere else you can explore, but just keep in mind these lands are really open. It's easy for large birds to pick up cats so try and keep your eye on the sky at all times," He explained. Truthfully he hadn't heard of a case of a SunClan cat being carried away by a bird, but it was incredibly common in WinterClan and it made no sense for large birds not to hunt around these open parts.
"Unless there was somewhere specific you wanted to go we can maybe head closer to DayClan's borders? That's important to learn about too, they won't let you hunt over there, but sometimes their prey intrudes onto our territory so it's always fun getting a different flavor," He explained.

Buzzingpaw

Buzzingpaw chuckled "well what happens if I go into the Janus camp? I have never heard of big birds here... are you sure? That just sounds silly. We hunt birds, birds don't hunt us!" he declared energetically, his tail high up in the air "I'll fight off those old birds any day" he rose up on his hind feet blindly slashing at the air as if fighting of an imaginary predator "I'll show them and you!"
"You've never heard of them?" Nikkohydrangea asked in surprise, "Man I grew up with my mom telling me stories about how they would capture kits. Entire patrols would go after these birds, trying to get their children back, but the patrols wouldn't come back. Eventually these predatory hawks would take children and mothers would watch them leave because they know that the battle was lost the moment their paws left the ground. But there was one elder who said he survived, Leopardfrost. He said a patrol went to save him when he was a kit. That while they were fighting the hawk he slipped underneath the hawks nest. But he listened as the hawk tore cats flesh a part, feeding it to their young. The blood seeped beneath the nest and down onto Leopardkit. He was never a good warrior from that experience, he couldn't stand the sight of blood."
"But hey, you're mister tough guy you got this!" Nikkohydrangea said energetically as he walked off in the direction of the open fields. Hopefully they would spot a patrol and Buzzingpaw could get some experience in etiquette. SunClan got away with saying and doing anything to DayClan, but he noticed sometimes SunClan apprentices took it their pious a bit too far making them look bad for raising spoiled brats. But so far Buzzingpaw seemed to have a good attitude, he felt blessed for having such an upbeat apprentice even if he was energetic.

Buzzingpaw
SunClan Apprentice
The Boisterous
Buzzingpaw rolled his eyes as he fell back to the ground "You can't scare me with fairy tales, so don't even try it. I'll take on any opponent and make you proud. You can bet your claws on that! " he puffed out his chest proudly, to involved in their conversation to notice the DayClan patrol until they were almost nose to nose with one another causing his fur to bristle with surprise as he leaped forward beside his mentor bouncing from side to side "HHHIIII!!!" He chirped calling out to them over the border. With so many DayClan cats coming and going he didn't really think of them as much of an enemy
Across the border Fairytalepaw waved excitedly back at him, "HI!" He yelled he across to the other side.
Nikkohydrangea face palmed himself before wiping his paw off his face with a grin, "Great job at not being tense, but when we go to NightClan's border it's important to keep your head held high. DayClan patrols commonly are chatty, they'll ask a lot of personal questions, but they don't mean to be offensive they're just," He winced back with a slight expression of fear, "Nice..." He shivered. "Anyways DayClan's our ally and since their border is open you should go by there sometime. Plenty of outsiders visit there so you might find some good information on other clans or even make a valuable friend."
When he was an apprentice he had met plenty of outsiders despite living on top of a mountain. While none of them became life long friends he became fairly well educated on the world around him. He knew because of SunClan's cult like nature that they tended to isolate the youth, but he definitely didn't want Buzzingpaw growing up to be clueless about the other clans.

Buzzingpaw
SunClan Apprentice
The Boisterous
For Buzzingpaw, he had considered his response rather contained, managing not to just charge forward straight into the midst of the other patrol. Even now his paws were itching to power him forward, which he concentrated into his bouncing paws "Head high, visit DayClan, friends, gotcha boss" he replied unable to contain himself any more with the seeming blessing of his mentor to greet the other cats up close and personal. Of course it wasn't at all what his mentor had said, but his speal was long and dragged out and he picked out what he thought were the important parts and he straightened up, held his head high, and crossed over the boarder with his fur fluffed up "I'm Buzzingpaw" he greeted the other apprentice, his tail waving his tail high in the air with no shred of fear at being confronted by a full DayClan patrol filled with enemy warriors "My mentor said I should come make friends!"
Nikkohydragena hadn't meant to make friends now, but this seemed like the perfect opportunity to ditch his new apprentice onto someone else and give himself a free day. Especially when he could just make something up like a cultural awareness lesson.
Fuzzyheart's ears swerved back with agitation, at this point SunClan was worse than Primal Instinct. Maybe he was old school, but allowing apprentices to be so cute and cuddly with each other even when they were allies still felt weird. "Don't you have enough SunClan friends?" Fuzzyheart said more than asked.
"I don't mind making new friends," Fairytalepaw reassured as he padded over to Buzzingpaw and sniffed him behind the ears.
"Wow, he crossed onto SunClan territory, now he's our," Nikkohydrangea said darkly.
"If you want to exchange the two I'm all for that," Fuzzyheart said with a bit of a laugh, "So what's your agenda today?" He asked to Buzzingpaw, a bit more relaxed now.

SunClan Apprentice
The Boisterous
Buzzingpaw sniffed the other apprentice in turn,, slowly circling them like they were some sort of delicious looking fresh kill "You smell familiar Fairytalepaw" but the thought was soon forgotten as he dropped into a play bow wiggling his behind with his tail swishing back and forth "We are going to be besties!!! I just know it" he purred, daring the other apprentice to jump in and play along with him
"It has to be fate! My first day out as an apprentice and I meet you" he glanced up at the DayClan warrior "Making friends and enjoying myself?"
"Wow, making friends and enjoying yourself. And other clans say we're the pushover peace loving clan," Fuzzyheart marveled.
"Yeah, you pansy," Nikkohydrangea snorted out a bit of laughter after not being able to compose himself.
Fuzzyheart nudged Fairytalepaw right as he got into a play position, "I'm going to continue marking the border, come back before the sun goes down and don't cross onto their territory. And if he's a mouse brain and does cross onto your territory don't take him. You don't know who his parents are." He said before turning tail and continuing on his way.
Now Nikkohydrangea really just wanted to take Fairytalepaw. One of those knee jerk reactions that if he was told no he immediately wanted to do the opposite.
Fairytalepaw let out a playful growl as he swept a sheathed paw at Buzzingpaw.
"I guess this could be a perfect time for battle training. Maybe Fairytalepaw can show you a move he knows and then I'll teach you how to counter strike it," Nikkohydrangea said. Or at least he hoped he could figure out how to counter strike any move Fairytalepaw knew. He wasn't a great fighter, but at least if he sucked at teaching Buzzingpaw today he could blame it on weird DayClan combat moves.

"Battle training and a new friend on my first day, how much better can it GET?" he shouted, bouncing backwards to avoid the other tom's paw "What do you say Fairytalepaw? Sound like fun to you?" he swiped at the empty air between them falling into a tumble before regaining his paws in a far over dramatic fashion
"Yeah, that sounds great!" Fairytalepaw chirped, "My mom teaches me all kinds of moves. But I'll show you the one that is the most fun!"
Fairytalepaw circled around Buzzingpaw before ambushing him in the side. He managed to push Buzzingpaw off his paws and into a roll. He rolled with him three times before landing with both of Fairytalepaw's front paws pinning Buzzingpaw's back to the ground. However Fairytalepaw almost immediately slipped, but it was easy to see why. For some reason he was balling up his paws on an angle. He managed to catch himself last second, but held Buzzingpaw in place looking up at Nikkohydrangea excitedly to see how Buzzingpaw would get out of being pinned.
"Okay Buzzingpaw," Nikkohydrangea said slowly, trying to think of how he would get out of this. DayClan cats were light on their toes, which meant they were typically playing more defense than offense, caring more about their lives than the kill. "Okay Buzzingpaw, use your back legs and with all your might curve them around Fairytalepaws torso and then roll. You should be able to turn Fairytalepaw over and pin him down," He said hopefully. Fairytalepaw looked just a tiny bit older than Buzzingpaw, but he shouldn't be that much heavier so it should work.

Without even a proper defensive crouch, the young apprentice was easily bowled over and pinned by the more experienced cat. The world spun for a moment, but when he got his baring he was staring up at his new friend "that was... FANTATSTIC!!" he wiggled under the other cat with admiration in his gaze even though his own shoulder was stinging slightly from hitting the ground repeatedly in the roll. He wasn't having much luck getting out of the other cat's grip until his mentor spoke up
Trying to act quickly he did what his mentor said wrapping his back legs around the other cat and pulling him forward with all of his might. However, since he was already pinned against the ground, there wasn't much room to roll so instead it was more thrusting Fairytalepaw forward as he tried to free himself while the other tom was unabalanced
Fairytalepaw definitely didn't expect himself to be thrust forward, which was why he was let off guard when he smacked into the other toms muzzle. His blue eyes widened as he apologetically got up, blushing profusely, "I'm sorry, I... Should have watched myself. I'm really bad at personal space. I'm sorry," He said, repeating his apology over and over to Buzzingpaw as he got off of him.
Nikkohydrangea's eye twitched slightly, watching the embarrassing moment play out. Although given who his apprentice was he wondered if he even cared. It reminded him of Bloodyrondo, all the signs he thought were there that wasn't. He pushed the thought of way and concentrated back on his apprentice, "Away. You needed to push him off of you not toward you, but hey, you accomplished the goal and made him get off of you. Might not be that bad in practice unless the guy chooses to bite your face off."

Wait a minute... Buzzingpaw's eyes widened with surprise as both of their muzzles were smashed together in an awkward postion... Did that make this random DayClan cat his first kiss? Before he even had time to react the other tom had scrambled off of him and started apologizing. He scrambled to his own paws, heat rising to his face but other wise unphased, one paw lifting to rub at his neck nervously "Nah that one was on me" he had always imagined his first kiss with some hot she-cat, but I mean... well no changing it now he supposed
"Come on, let's try it again! I mean.. uh the training, not the kissing "
Fairytalepaw's eyes widened, again? So forward! Oh, he meant training, "Yeah," He replied back awkwardly before shaking himself out. He had to get his head back in the game! "Okay let's start again!" He launched at Buzzingpaw, claws sheathed, as he lowered his head. This move normally meant he was going to get close to the opponents face and needed to shield his face and neck as much as possible, but that wasn't the case as Fairytalepaw rammed his head into Buzzingpaw, HARD. He went at him full force without any fear of how badly his head was going to be ringing after, but he hardly seemed phased in his attempt to knock Buzzingpaw over.

Buzzingpaw dropped into a defensive crouch, expecting the apprentice to make the same move as last time... But instead all he got was a full blown head butt! Instead of backing away and giving into the pain, he pressed forward stubbornly, if it was simply a test of wills he was sure to win without all the fancy smansy moves. He pushed back hard digging his claws into the dirt to help him with traction
