simplylight Mistralpaw entered their temporary camp with a number of herb satchels hanging on thin cords of vine from her back, looking every bit a pack animal she constantly blamed Firetooth for turning her into. However, this day she was smiling to herself as she walked in, seemingly oblivious to the burden on her back, and wandered contentedly into the medicine cat den. She began to hum as she removed the herbs from the cords and placed the organized bundles into the log she was using as the herb store. By keeping the herbs already packed up, it sped up their ability to move camp when Chimerastar ordered them too.
Chimerastar... She gave a gusty exhale that sent some loose thyme scattering across the ground and grumbled under her breath as she stooped to clean it up. Her leader was everything she wasn't - decisive, tall, strong, and kind. She was indecisive, short, weak, and grumpy more often than not, but they did say that opposites attract. Ever since she was old enough to remember, she looked up to the SwiftClan leader who always had a kind word for her. After finishing the sorting of her herbs, she sat down and stared absently out of the den, daydreaming about what it might be like for Chimerastar to like her back...

"Yo."
A sharp voice sounded from behind Mistralpaw and Pygmyprawn sat with a clearly bloodied paw glaring exasperatedly at the medicine cat apprentice. "Not to be rude, but should I tend to this myself or are you going to wake up from your daydream and help? I mean, it wouldn't be the first time I've had to do everything on my own but isn't this kind of your job?" Her eyes narrowed more until they were hardly visible before she snorted. "What are you all head in the clouds about anyways?"

Mistralpaw's head snapped towards the voice addressing her, eyes wide. "Oh foxdung," she growled in annoyance, though it wasn't clear if it was directed at herself or Pygmyprawn. "Come here and sit down," she mewed, motioning to a small, simple nest of moss that looked as roughly constructed as the rest of their camp. "How did you manage this?" she asked distractedly, rifling through her herb stock in order to pull out two bundles and a wad of cobwebs. Unfurling the beech leaves holding the herbs, she began to chew up comfrey and goldenrod while she pressed the cobwebs firmly to Pygmyprawn's paw. "Is it a wound, or an injury? I need to know whether or not I will need to draw the infection from another animal out or not."
This was when Mistralpaw was most in her element, healing those she cared for. Her eyes glimmered in the low light of the den, and her actions were calm and surprisingly practiced for so young a medicine cat. It was clear that whoever was teaching her was doing a very good job. "And go ahead and tell me on a scale of one to ten how badly it hurts." She ignored the warrior's question about what she was daydreaming about, worried that thinking about it might distract her and cause her to mess up. Chimerastar wouldn't like her if she messed up, after all...

Pygmyprawn let out a grunt and rolled her eyes, but she complied and sat where the medicine cat apprentice directed her. Moons ago when she arrived in Waterclan with Chim there would be no getting her to follow any directions. She had mellowed a bit since then, but still kept her snarky tongue. "Wound or injury? Is there a difference?" She huffed, wincing in pain as her paw throbbed once more. "I would say it's about a four... or five... It depends on how stubborn I'm being. Unfortunately, being the way I am means I can't reach the tallest branches of the trees while chasing annoying, small-brained squirrels." She was referring to her small size, of course. That and her strange looks made her a good target for mocking. That is, if anyone dared to mock her.

"It's an injury, then," mewed Mistralpaw with an exasperated sigh, pressing the poultice against the warrior's paw and wrapping it securely with cobwebs. "You'll need to stay off of it for at least three days so that it can heal properly," she decided, nodding her head. "Don't argue with me or I'll trap you in camp myself. It's a waste of herbs when hard-headed warriors like you have to get treated all the time because you don't let things heal correctly." She turned and fished out three poppyseeds, eyed Pygmypawn's size, and put one back. "Take these. They'll help a lot with the pain."

"And how do you think you're going to trap me?" Pygmyprawn snorted in response, not liking the idea of staying cooped up in camp being watched over by this scrap. "And don't think I didn't notice you avoiding my question earlier. I'm not going to pry into your personal business, but you must have been thinking hard to get that distracted. Are you sure I can trust you not to give me some strange herb on accident?" She eyed the poppyseeds for a moment before lapping them up.
