Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Hey Flamingstar," Kotori said in a sing song voice as he approached her with a purr in his voice. "I wanted to get you a little something. It's been great here in NightClan and it honestly feels more like a home than the league or Regime ever did. So consider it a token of my gratitude."
He pushed forward a present, neatly wrapped in long leaves woven expertly to the point that there were no open creases. "But open it slowly and carefully, it's very fragile."
Flamingstar perked her ears, surprise and curiosity lighting up in her pearly turquoise eyes. "Awe, Kotori. You didn't have to get me anything. I didn't get you anything." She suddenly felt bad. That's weird. She always accepted gifts and offerings without feeling bad about it but now that it was coming from Kotori, she actually felt bad for not having anything to give him. She gave him a warm smile before gently and carefully opening the gift, pulling back the neatly wrapped leaves.
"Hey, don't worry about me, you're the one that invited me to stay when you didn't have. It's liberating being here and I definitely want to give you something you can adore as much as I adore being here," He purred.
Opening up the leaf there were tiny crushed leaves inside and something black. The tiny black speck moved, it was a small, at least one in a half claw length furry smile. Granted that its turquoise eyes were big and puppy dog like, it was still a spider.
"It's a jumping spider! I've been dying to get my paws on one of these because I knew you'd like them. They're friendly and they'll just jump on your shoulder and hang out with you," Kotori enthused. Anyone peering in probably thought that Kotori was being sarcastic for the sake of a joke, but it unfortunately couldn't be further from the truth. He was definitely an creepy crawler enthusiast.
Flamingstar nearly jumped out of her fur when she saw the spider. Oof...a spider. "Um, thanks, Kotori. He's...cute" she responded, trying to sound thankful without giving away the fact that she was a little creeped out by the spider. She let the spider crawl into her paw and up her arm, giving much effort to not shudder. The spider curled up on her shoulder just as Kotori said it would. "Well, he looks like he's made himself at home." She joked. "Now I have two wonderful pets." She purred, walking over to her egg that was nestled in a warm nest of its own. She would often lay with the egg to make sure it stayed warm, wondering what kind of animal was in it. She only hoped it wasn't a snake.
Kotori smiled happily, pleased that his gift was beloved, "I thought you would love it! Lelia and I love collecting all kinds of insects. I left all of mine in the league, I'll be lucky if no one steals them. I'm sure they're fine though, numbers in the league have been dwindling for sometime now."
His paw stirred in the ground, his smile fading for just a moment before looking back at Flamingstar, "Hey want to go out on a date tonight?"
He hadn't felt his scars burning this bad ever, but in this moment they did. It wasn't until he asked the question that he realized how different he was from who he was before. He was a league cat a few moons ago, who had mass murdered the Regime and obsessed over a girl who was never going to be with him. Now he was a NightClan warrior with a sucky warrior name that he deserved, he had a new scar along the side of his face and neck from betraying the league. He had tried to destroy the world for a girl who loved who actually wanted to be with him. Yeah he was still untrustworthy as others, but things had changed. He loved Flamingstar and she loved him, he loved NightClan and genuinely served it. Yes he still turned to violence to please a girl and left his home to be with his girlfriend like he did before, but this time everything wasn't pretend. He wasn't sure how Flamingstar looked at him, but he wanted to earn being her mate. For her to not regret it for a moment and if he wasn't the person she wanted him to be that he could hopefully grow and mature to be the tom she wanted.
"I was thinking we could go swimming, or at least I've heard NightClan cats like to swim, it's entirely possible someone lied to me..." He said a bit sheepishly, "By the way. I know that you know that people call me Ratnest and at this point it's what people know me as. If you address me as Ratnest I don't mind, maybe I would have before, but I'm not as insecure as I used to be. You kind of taught me how to love and accept myself, so thanks," He said with a small smile that he couldn't hold back.
