Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"With so many kits running around, the Janus have organized a bone art session with all of the kits in SunClan. Have your kit come out and design something fun and unique. All of the art work created will be displayed around SunClan's camp to help decorate for the Summer Solstice. Come out and make your kit's parents proud."
This is just one of SunClan's many mini events for the month of June in the spirit of the summer solstice's Celebration of Life festival. Check out this thread [link] to join in on more of the events!
Spread out along the exterior wall of the nursery were all different colors of paints and various other crafting materials like feathers, dried flower petals and shiny stones, just to name a few. The star of the show of course were the expertly sorted animal bones of every shape and size set front and center near the den's entrance. Beside the piles of bones were a few different canvas options like large leaves and dried out sheets made out of prey skin, not that an especially avant garde kit had to use them. Bloodyrondo had tried to make sure there was a little bit of everything here so the kits could really let their creative juices flow.
"Alright everyone," Bloodyrondo began, his celadon eyes moving from kit tol kit as he spoke, "Don't eat anything no matter how tasty it looks. Share with the other kits and only take what you need to use. And, lastly, be careful with the glue," He motioned toward what looked like white paint but it was more shiny and smooth in texture. It was set aside from the rest of the materials and had a pile of sticks next to it. Glue sticks, "Don't touch it with your paw pads directly or you'll be stuck to whatever you touch forever!" He let that last statement hang in the air for a moment, glue was such a pain to get out of fur and he did not want to deal with angry parents at the end of this so he figured fear was a great way to keep he kits in line, "If you need any help getting or using materials, just let me or one of the Janus know. Now, go!"
Pebblekit stumbled somewhat blindly over to the bone pile, eager to get there and choose his favorites before other kits did. His brain was spinning with possible ideas that he could create. He eyed the bones and opted for something meaningful. Pebblekit searched the bones mainly by feel, not eyesight, for the tiniest and roundest - the ones that looked most like pebbles. He wanted his work to embody who he was...and what he wanted. Pebblekit's mother paid him no attention. He wasn't valued like family should be valued in SunClan. So he would make his art not for Hazelsplash, but for the Sun God.

Mousekit gently padded over to where all the art supplies had been laid out, walking around the piles of stuff with a critical eye. She was so small compared to the other kits in the nursery, even though she didn't seem to be letting that hold her back. She sniffed the paints, letting out a large sneeze sending some of it up and spraying her in the face as she scrambled backwards rubbing her eyes.
Carrotkit bounded forward with no hesitation, shouldering any of the other kits that got in his way. He wanted to make the best piece or art, so that he could inspire the others to do their best as well! He had decided to reconstruct a mouse in a 3d model and to paint it to make it vibrant! The mouse would look like it was stealing herbs by the time that he was done as he carefully pulled out the most perfect mouse bones from the pile that he could find.
Cabbagekit rolled her eyes as the other kits rushed to the supplies "This whole thing is just silly" she complained. However there was one of the art supplies that caught her attention, and once she was sure her mom wasn't looking, she crept forward one step at a time until she had reached the flat surfacing. Amoungst all the leaves and animals hides was a cabbage leaf!!! "MY CABBAGES!" she purred picking up the leaf that was far larger than she and retreating out of the crowd.
Brightkit didn't hesitate, as soon as the kits were released the first thing she did was go running straight for the glue pile. Sure Bloodyrondo had said not to touch it with her paw and not to eat it, but he said nothing about rolling in it!!! If this was going to be a true piece or art, it had to be on her. So she laid down, and rolled over the pile of glue until her pelt was sticky and white as she rushed over to bloodyrondo "hey, hey, I have an idea!!! Help me stick the stones to my fur and then I will sparkle in the sunlight!!!"Jadie
Twilightkit wasn't really one for arts and crafts, but he was a kit, and there was honestly so much going on around him - the bright colors, piles of bones, even the excitement of all the other kits - that he couldn't help but get energized. He followed after Cabbagekit as she rummaged through the canvas pile and winced when she screamed about finding a cabbage leaf, "Really, Cabbagek---" but before he could finish the kit had already run off. He sighed and picked up a large maple leaf... which of course he promptly dropped when he heard another scream, this time from the Priest Promised.
"BRIGHTKIT, WHAT DID I JUST SAY?!" The ginger tom howled, picking up the small she-cat by the scruff and making a face as he consumed some of the glue. Twilightkit's fur ruffled - that was his sister! - but it was from embarrassment not concern. Brightkit was not, well, very bright. Instead, Twilightkit picked back up his maple leaf and padded over to the bone pile like he didn't know either of the cats by the glue. He brushed shoulders with Pebblekit, "Uhh... what are you looking for, Pebblekit? I'll help. Just so you know, I'm looking for the really small round ones." cookie
The LAST thing Bloodyrondo wanted to do was groom glue out of a kit's fur. It would take hours and whoever was unlucky enough to get stuck with the task would have to deal with that awful chloritic taste. Luckily, Bloodyrondo knew just the cat for the job, and she, as always, was never far from the kits. Caramelcream was sitting in the thick of it and appeared to be trying to make some art as well. She had multiple canvases scattered around her although not a single one of them was even half-way done.
"OMG Hi Bloodyrondo, oh, and Brightkit! What have you got all over you sweetie?" Caramelcream purred, leaping to her paws. She towered over the Priest Promised and had all kinds of art materials stuck to her pelt with glue already. She had nothing on Brightkit, through, that she-cat's fur was positively coated in the stuff. Bloodyrondo sat the kit down in front of the ex-WinterClan she-cat.
"She fell in the glue. I'm too busy with the other kits right now, you can clean her up for me, right?"
"Of course of course. Come right on over Brightkit, you can help me with my art while I clean your fur." She leaned down, nose-to-nose with the kit, her evergreen eyes shining bright, "It'll be fun!"
Pebblekit turned when he heard his name and tried to scent the cat speaking to him. His vision was so bad that it was easier sometimes than straining his eyes to see them. However, the one speaking was right up close when Pebblekit turned, so he was easily able to make out Twilightkit. "I'm also looking for the small round ones," he said, disappointed that another kit wanted them. Now Twilightkit would find them all and the Sun God wouldn't get a meaninful gift. Pebblekit was immensely bummed out.
Dapplebreeze paced around the event, part of her wanting to partake in the artwork still. She was still a young kit, and she knew she was missing out, but now that she was Janus she had a role to play in acting more grown up. The she-kit was serious, but it was still boring to watch everyone partake in something while she had to sit back and wait for another kit needing help.
It was really to bad for Bloodyrondo that Brightkit was quite a bit smarter than what he thought. This wasn't the first time she had used glue, and she knew good and well that it wouldn't hurt her or anyone else if it got in her mouth. Even though it would take her forever to get it out of her own coat, it was all worth it just to see the Priest Promised get all flustered. Plus her coat was short whereas his was much longer. She waited patiently until Bloodyrondo set her down beside of Carmelcream. She shrugged smiling sweetly up at the she-cat, she did look like a lot of fun but she wasn't about to let the red tom off the hook quite so easily. She nodded eagerly "ok, sure!!! You look likes lots of fun" she bounced up and down, suddenly turning and rubbing up Bloodyrondo's underbelly getting as much glue on his fur as possible with a purr rumbling in her throat "but I have to thank mr.grumpy face fist. Thank you Mr.Grumpy face for pulling me out of the glue"Jadie
Cabbagekit retreated to the edge of the sandstone gorge wall, happily stroking her cabbage leaf. It felt so cool and soft under her paws, even though she really didn't understand why her mother had choose to name herself and all of her siblings after vegetables, which only fueled her curiosity further. She seemed to have entirely forgotten about the art project, seeing the leaf itself as a work of nature's art.
Carrotkit glanced up, seeing Dapplebreeze sitting by herself. Clearly she wasn't having as much fun as the rest of them, and that wasn't going to stand. Determination glinted in his eyes as he grabbed his leaf of mouse bones and dragged it over to her "What, to good to play with us now that you have a new name?" he asked harshly with a shake of his head "Names are just names Dapplebreeze. Even if the Sun God choose you to be a janus, you are not just going to change over night you are still a kit. Now get your lazy bones over here and jump in. Either design something of your own, or come help me"cookie
"What are the odds," Twilightkit replied, not picking up on Pebblekit's disappointment. He figured there would be plenty to go around but as he began to search he realized pretty quickly that small round bones were few and far between. For one they were simply uncommon; of all the bones hat make up a prey animal's body, the only ones comparable to a pebble came from the paws and feet, and those tiny pieces were really just not here. It seems Bloodyrondo's intention was for the kits to use bigger bones. The small gray-and-white tom had a thoughtful look on his face, "Hold on, I have an idea."
He drew out a thin, flimsy looking bone, and put it down on a particularly flat patch of ground. Twilightkit then reared up on his hind legs and slammed down on it, cracking it into multiple pieces with one decisive blow. They weren't very round but the size was mostly right. He repeated the processing a couple more times until there was a pretty sizable pile, "These will work for me. I'm sure I will have extra so you can take some if you want. Be careful when you handle them, they are really sharp." His own paw-pads were bleeding slightly but he wasn't going to fuss about it and doubted anyone else would notice. cookie
"Caramelcream - DO SOMETHING!"
"Oh, but look at her, Bloodyrondo, she's having so much fun!"
Bloodyrondo he hopped around from leg to leg, trying to avoid Brightkit's "attack," although failing miserably. She was too quick and too small and the Priest Promised was now convinced that she was also doing this intentionally. It infuriated him but he knew that if Littlestar found out that he punished a kit for getting covered in glue she would probably cover him in glue. She'd warned him that this would happen days ago. He didn't listen and now he was the fool. Satinlights wasn't going to let him anywhere near their nest like this and he was oh so hoping for a cuddlefest...
Finally, Caramelcream took pity on the ginger tom and got to her paws. Her evegreen eyes shined bright with excitement as she crouching down and chased after Brightkit, bonking her on the head, the side, tripping her up with her big plummy tail. She didn't scruff her - that would have been too easy - instead she made a game of it that was somehow less fun than the one she was already playing with the Priest Promised. Caramelcream didn't seem inconvenienced in the slightest to get covered in glue when it would surely be a bigger nightmare to get it out of her pelt than Bloodyrondo's. racer

Brightkit continued rubbing up and down all over his underbelly until it was thoroughly covered in glue and his carefully painted designs were ruined as Carmelcream began teasing her gently to get her away from the promised "Well mr.grumpy face, I have to go now" she cheered batting at Carmelcream's tail to get it away from her as she turned and placed her paws on both of his cheeks right at the center of the swirls that had been placed there "but thank you" she pressed her nose to his before falling back down and racing back over to carmelcream, satisfied that he was enough of a mess to make him flustered Jadie
The spotted kit squinted, trying to see what Twilightkit was doing. He heard snapping sounds and finally understood. The other kit was breaking up a bone. Pebblekit released a sigh of relief when the other offered to share. "You're so smart," he purred, carefully brushing small bone shards closer toward him. "Thanks Twilightkit." A tang in the air went up his nose and he wrinkled it, leaning into the scent physically with his head. It ended up tapping Twilightkit. "Is this blood?!" Jadie
Dapplebreeze noticed Carrotkit drag a leaf full of bones over toward her. His words stung her momentarily, and she bit back, "No, I'm not too good for you Carrotkit. I just have a job to do and I can't just play around all day now." She felt even grumpier now that he had soured her mood, but then the other kit mentioned that he needed her help. This was something she could do. Dapplebreeze wasn't even aware that she was lying to herself about this. Of course she wasn't just helping because she had been told to - she was finally getting to do what the others were doing! But the Janus blocked that thought in her mind and approached Carrotkit. "What are you designing anyway?" racer
Bloodyrondo didn't even want to touch Brightkit, thinking it would make things worse but, now, he really wished he had. He could deal with glue on his paws but on his underbelly? He could already feel it begin to harden and form clumps of fur that painfully pulled at his skin each time he moved. He'd never had matted fur before but he imagined it must feel something like this.
"Brightkit, don't leave Caramelcream's side until I syw so." He said hurriedly and fled back towards the main stores of the art materials. The Priest Promised quickly began to try and groom at the white splotches he could reach and made a face of disgust; it tasted so sour, he very nearly gagged, "... stupid MoonClan kit..." He grumbled as he continued his work. racer
"Oh, it's nothing." Twilightkit knew that Pebblekit didn't have very sharp eyes so he had hoped that his wounds would have gone unnoticed. It wasn't much blood, really, just a few fine scratches, most of which had already stopped bleeding save for a particularly deep one on his right paw, "Don't worry about it." He nosed a few of the bone fragments toward the other kit and tried to change subjects, "Will this be enough for you?" cookie

If Brightkit heard his comment, she didn't appear to care. She rubbed up on Carmelcream after picking up some of the shiny flat jewels and putting them onto her pelt "Come on, I want them to stick and use them as focal points for my painting! I will be my own piece of art work" she purred looking up to Carmelcream with pleading eyes. "Momma says Im such a gem, so now everyone will see it" she had her head and tail lifted high, even though every once in a while she would cast a look over in Bloodyrondo's direction as he tried to free himself of glue. She would let him try, but his day was far from over if she had anything to say about it. Jadie
Carrotkit grinned leaning in and whispering in her ear "I know that mouse brain, I'm trying to give you an out" he leaned backwards gesturing towards the bones "I want to make what Str...Stikle...Stirkled...STICKYDAISY did in the cooking contest. She had a bone mouse on top of something she made, and I want to do it to! I just don't know how all these bones fit together. They are so tiny!" Faithcookie
Pebblekit felt the bone shards carefully and nodded at the other kit. "Yeah, this should be plenty." He believed Twilightkit when he said he was okay, so with that Pebblekit began batting the bones away from the pile. He moved very slowly to make sure they didn't get too far away from him. Jadie
Dapplebreeze gave Carrotkit a grateful look. "Thanks," she whispered back before leaning far away from the tom and saying louder, "Let's see what I can do to help!" A bone mouse huh? Dapplebreeze had not been at the cooking contest so she wasn't very sure what that looked like, but she'd try.

Carrotkit nodded "Yeah a bone mouse, like the whole skeleton was in one piece. It looked like it could have jumped up and started running!" he giggled, pushing the pile of bones towards the Janus that he had managed to collect. He had tried picking out the ones that smelled like a mouse, but it was a hodge podge of bones from all sorts of creatures cookie
"Oh what a fantastic idea!" Caramelcream purred, she had already been reaching for the jewels before Brightkit had even explained her goal, "But if I put some on you, will you put some on me? I bet my mama would think it's super cute too! We can both be art!" The large caramel brown she-cat placed a few gems on Brightkit as she spoke, more of them were around the kit's eyes but was remarkably parallel. It was reminiscent of how Bloodyrondo would often use beetle wings to accept his own body paint for special occasions but it looked even cooler on Brightkit, "OMG you look so cute I could eat you right up!" racer
Twilightkit corralled his bone shares in a similar fashion and winced as one of the particularly deep cuts on his paws brushed against one of them. He sucked it up though, he was tough. It was just a scratch in an unfortunate location, but.... blood was trailing across the ground... He lifted up his paw pad and saw it was gushing and a little piece of bone was stuck in it. He paled immediately, "Uh... Pebblekit... can you go find me a... healer...?" cookie
Dapplebreeze just stared at the bones. How in the world was she going to put these all together like a mouse? First task and she was already gonna fail it. "Uh," the kit began grabbing bones at random, stacking them on top of each other. "This looks like a mouse, right?" The form held for a moment and then all the bones came crashing down. racer
Pebblekit was very intently trying to feel the best way to arrange his bones on his leaf. First he tried this way, then he tried that way. All of them felt wrong and disappointed him. At the sound of Twilightkit's voice, Pebblekit turned his head. A healer? "Did you try asking the Sun God to heal you first?" he asked seriously, sniffing his way over to the other kit. "If he wants you healed, the bleeding should just stop on its own I think." Jadie

Carrotkit grinned "You have to use the glue silly goose. You can't just stack bones or they will never stand up!" he reached down and put two of the bones togather after dipping them in glue, holding it together for a few moments before letting go "see, tada!"cookie
