Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Cinderpaw paced around his new home. The camp contained more cats than he could have imagined in one place. When he had joined WinterClan, Cinderpaw had hoped to see Chestnutpaw more often. However, it seemed like he never saw her at all these days. The former kittypet glanced toward the freshkill pile and his stomach rumbled, but it felt wrong to eat the prey when he hadn't caught any himself. Cinderpaw felt frustrated and lonely. He wanted to participate in clan life, he really did. But it was difficult adjusting to a new way of life. Things were more structured here and his entire purpose of joining - being around his crush - had gone out the window. To be fair, he hadn't been exposed to many beautiful she-cats before. Any he had come across in the past had caught his eye. Chestnutpaw was his current goal, but perhaps he needed to move on and look for love elsewhere. The large gray student flopped onto his side, closing his eyes and imaginging himself bringing back a fat rabbit for the clan. Cinderpaw was a romantic and a daydreamer, and he didn't notice another cat approaching him.
Polarblast was like many cats from WinterClan and did not trust outsiders, especially ex-kittypets. From across camp, the tom has sat glaring at the new student. Wintrystar has yet to put the cat through a test in order to see if the cat was worthy fo joining their ranks. But...what if he put the cat through the ringer? He was sur she could find a counsel of cats to help him judge the merits of this kittypet.
Strutting into camp was Snowbunny, a fat rabbit hanged from this jaws. The rabbit was so long that it's back legs draped behind his front legs as he dragged it through the snow. With a mighty thrust he was able to throw it onto the freshkill pile with a bit of effort. While Snowbunny was an impressive hunter he still short compared to most cats, but nowhere close to a runt. He grew up in Renegade Regime and given the tunnels that the cats lived in many naturally selected to mate with cats who were shorter making it easier for them to travel through tunnels without lowering his head. Which was all fine and dandy in an underground living situation, but not in five feet of snow.
Licking his lips at the fresh prey he couldn't help but notice a pair of eyes staring out across camp at an apprentice. "Do I... Want to get involved in whatever this is?" Snowbunny asked looking from Polarblast and Cinderpaw who clearly didn't even notice that the warrior had been staring at him. Although he was also oblivious that Cinderpaw had a crush on the same girl he liked.
Polarblast noticed another one of the outsiders staring back at him, confused. Great another one of them. Didn't Wintrystar understand that their linage needed to stay clean of these outsiders' blood? I mean really?!? An ex-Regime cat and this kittypet were allowed to join their ranks! Soon the other clans will think its okay to do the same or even start stealing prey from them. What were they showing them? That WinterClan was weak enough to need outsiders to join their ranks?!?
"What's going on?" Hearing Snowbunny, Harlow glanced up from where he was comfortable stretched out a short distance away with a half-eaten meal between his paws.
Cinderpaw opened a sleepy eye at the sound of pawsteps. It hadn't been a cat approaching him afterall but heading toward the nearby freshkill pile instead. The student rolled to his feet and headed over to chat. He was still learning the names of his new clanmates, and he was fairly sure this one had something to do with snow. "Hi Snow," he meowed, forgetting that name endings were a thing in the clans. "I dunno if you remember my name? I'm Cinder. I mean, Cinderpaw." The gray tom was oblivious to the daggers being stared at him by Polarblast nearby.
Polarblast glared before finally approaching the new cat. Wintrystar should have thrown him in the prison. Angry that there were even more outsiders here now, the tom stopped infront of Snowbunny and Cinderpaw. Eyes filled with hatred, the tom glared at both of them. How dare they spoil the bloodlines of WinterClan. He could see it now, the future of WinterClan would fall through wit these cats around. "Do you mind?!"
(my thread prompt dice roll post w/ Frigidpaw) Frigidpaw watched from the students den as an angry Polarblast walked over to Cinderpaw and Snowbunny. Curious, and also because he's been looking up to the strong warrior lately, he walked over to join the group.
Cinderpaw looked up at the warrior with wide yellow eyes. Surprised at the hostile tone, he meowed, "Uh hi! Do we mind what?" He was confused. Looking back and forth from Polarblast to Snowbunny, he forgot the suddenly tense atmosphere as his gaze fell onto a fellow student. Frigidpaw! Maybe he knew what was going on.
Snowbunny chose to look over to Harlow instead of Polarblast, "I'm not sure, I observed Polarblast staring at Cinderpaw, something just felt off," Snowbunny said.
Usually he wasn't so blunt, but he wasn't comfortable with the way he was speaking to the cadet- er apprentice. However he could take a guess at what Polarblast was upset about. Lots of of Regime cats would become infuriated when an outsider would join their ranks, Cinderpaw was an outsider, as well as himself. Although Snowbunny never looked like an outsider with his white fur and thicker pelt.
Cinder smiled at the use of 'Cinderpaw'. He'd taken to calling himself that before he'd realized what being a prisoner meant, but it made him happy that someone had used it, even if it was unknowingly. "Nothing has to be off," he said with an easygoing smile. "Let's all just enjoy a meal, huh?"
