I would like the cat who finds her to be a cadet or older (older preferred), please.
---
It was raining. She couldn't see it, but she could hear it, drumming against the earth above her head. She felt like she was in the belly of a beast and that beast was growling. On a normal night she would find comfort in this confined space but right now it was stifling and Sapphira-tyke's paws itched to go somewhere, anywhere, but here. The silvery-blue she-cat got to her feet and quietly exited Post Kilo.
In the distance she saw a glimmer of light and decided to pad after it, her paws trembling slightly. Ribbons of moonlight just barely weaved their way in though a small hole in the ceiling; with it flowed a stream of shining blue water that settled into a drinking pool on the ground. Some cat long ago must have dug this spot out so queens and kits would have easy access to water. Tonight, though, it looked different. The way the moonlight hit the pool made it positively glow and, although it was being fed by a steady stream, the surface was somehow perfectly still.
Sapphira-tyke peered over the edge of the pool. Diamond white eyes gazed back at her with curiosity. She stared intently at the image until the surface broke and startled her; she leapt back, her fur on end. She stood there in a moment, collecting herself, then raised her paw up to her face and wiped the rest of the tear from her eye. She leaned back over the pool, which was still once more. Those diamond eyes looked back at her sadly.
"Don't forget." She told the cat in the water, another tear escaping her face, but she didn't flinch when it struck the surface, "Don't forget. Don't forget." She sobbed and wrapped her tail around her small body.

Unseenlights wasn't sure where she was headed, only that she was going. The eyes of the other cats glaring at her constantly becoming to much to bare, so she just started walking. The sound of the rain up above was deafening, taking one of her most used senses and making it near useless. She had to rely on her sense of touch as she walked, keeping her whiskers up against the tunnels edges to guide her path until the young cat's voice reached her even over the sound of the rain. She slowly padded forward, until her reflection could be seen in the pool that Sapphira had just been gazing into. Two startling blue eyes gazing up at her. The young cat's voice was so filled with pain, a sound she was all to familiar with... A sound that no one that young she ever be voicing
Saphhira-tyke sniffled, wiped another tear from her eye and returned her gaze to the pool at her paws. As her vision cleared her breath caught in her throat. It was dark, emotions were high, and moonlight cloaked the black cat's reflection an ethereal blue. She wasn't a perfect match, but Sapphira-tyke had never seen a spirit before, so in that moment she convinced herself that Unseenlights was the very cat that brought her to this pool, "M... mom?"
The blueish gray tabby she-kit threw herself against the SunClan Warrior and wrapped herself in her midnight tendrils, tears streaking her face, "Are you really here? Or are... are you a spirit...?" She'd seen her mother's body, she knew the she-cat was long gone, yet the cat she clung to was very much alive. It didn't make sense but she was too distraught and young to turn to something like logic.

Unseenlights flinched as the young cat suddenly spun around and clung to her leg calling her mom, but she didn't move away. The last thing she had been expecting was to have a young kit clinging to her like that. She slowly lowered her head and let her nose gently graze the she-cat's cheek "Little one I am not your mother, not a spirit..." she trailed off uncertain of how to proceed. She sounded so upset, that she couldn't just leave remove herself from the cat's embrace
"I am just a simple warrior, but I can be a set of listening ears. What is it that has you upset little one?" she kept her voice soft and soothing, trying not to intimidate or scare the cat before her.
The realization that Unseenlights was not her mother crushed her, but the kindness in the other she-cat's voice made it clear that she was not an enemy. Regardless, Sapphira-tyke pulled herself away from the black-furred she-cat, although wisps of her silver pelt still brushed against Unseenlights's side. It gave her comfort to be touching someone else when she was in the throes of grief. It didn't matter that the other cat was a total stranger with a scent she couldn't recognize mixed into her fur.
"I don't want to forget her," Sapphira-tyke began. Her voice was surprisingly even and articulate for a kit her age much less one who was distraught, "Sometimes I... I can't even remember her face. It's just not fair. Everything she did, she did for the Regime, yet she was exiled for her service. But exile wasn't enough...That dirty traitor went and killed her when she was calmly leaving and Commander Shule did nothing..."
She lost her weak composure and buried her head back into Unseenlights's side. Her whole body shook as sobs crawled their way out of her throat, "... All because he's her son..."

Unseenlights let her tail fold over the young cat's should as she buried her tiny head into her fur "I wish that I could stop your pain, but in truth the only thing that will help mend your heart is time. However, know that while you will always have this pain within you it does get easier" she didn't often talk about her past, and there were parts of it that even Duskslayer did not know
"I do not know your situation or the feelings that stir in your heart, but my father was also torn from me when I was even younger than you are now" she paused, not entirely sure if sharing this was a good idea... It wasn't something that she talked about very often. "I used to dwell on thoughts of him, but as time went on I have come to realize that is not what he would have wanted. He would have wanted me to live my own life without the darkness of my past hanging over me at ever turn. I will always mourn him, always wonder about what could have been, but eventually I made room in my heart for the present so that I could look forward to the future"
Now that she had finally, finally, bled her heart, Sapphira-tyke felt a lot better. The pain wasn't gone, of course, but it was almost like pulling a thorn from her paw. The wound still throbbed but now healing could begin. She still kept herself close to Unseenights and listened quietly as her tears dried. When the black-furred she-cat finished speaking, an eerie stillness filled the chamber, although the rain still pounded on the ceilings and the faint sound of running water interrupted the quiet.
"Thank you for sharing your story with me," Sapphira-tyke replied with a remarkable amount of maturity in her tone. It was almost like she was a different cat, "I was able to speak with my mother before she left, actually. I didn't know it would be the last time, but... but she did tell me exactly what she expected of me in her absence. She told me that my siblings and I were born only for the sake of giving the Regime more future soldiers and nurses. She said that my destiny in particular is to be a mercenary because I have a talent for it..."
Her breathing was a little irregular, not unusual for a cat who had just finished crying, but perhaps a blind cat like Unseenlights would be able to detect some hesitation. The truth was that Sapphira-tyke didn't want to be a mercenary. Her heart was large and she wanted to be a raiser like her father. She had spent a lot of time thinking about how to fight this destiny her mother laid out for her before her death but now she felt anchored to the spot. If she didn't do this, she was afraid she'd lose her memory of her mother, as well as her approval. Actually, she knew she would.

Unseenlights nodded, she understood a little more clearly now about what was going on inside of the young cat "Your parents can guide you, but only you can choose your path. The may have wanted you to be a mercenary, and the mere fact that this decision is weighing on you shows that you have given your mother's words proper consideration"
She stopped and placed her paw on the small cats 's chest where she could feel the she-cat's heart beating and the irregularity in her breathing "but your parents don't define who you are, you do. You can choose to follow their wishes or you can choose a new path, but the decision is yours"
"I will choose to follow my mother's guidance." Sapphira-tyke replied firmly, a single tear sliding down her face, which she promptly wiped away. She was a proud Regime she-cat with blood as pure as it came. With that blood came an unshakable sense that she has a place, that that place is predetermined, and taking any other path was as good as betrayal. Now realize that this sort of thinking isn't a foreign concept for her. She'd been raised under this mantra. She was so brainwashed that she didn't even pity herself. There just were not any other options for her, "My name is Sapphira-tyke. I've never seen you before. What's your name?"

Unseenlights nodded he head in approval, if that was her decision then there was no point in trying to change her mind "Its not of any importance. I am just a guest here, visiting with someone that I care ore deeply" she was wary of using her name here, knowing that several of the regime cats still had a grudge against SunClan, just as much as SunClan held a grudge against them.
Sapphira-tyke tensed and slowly drew away from Unseenlights, her diamond white eyes reading betrayal, not that the blind she-cat would be able to see them. The Renegade Regime did not have often entertain guests so it wasn't hard for her to put two and two together and figure out just who this she-cat was. Now that she had better command of her senses, she could even put up the summery-scents that clung to her pelt, proof enough that she wasn't a true member of this group.
"You're his mate, aren't you? Duskslayer's." She said his name with venom and took a couple steps toward Post Kilo, her heart beat picking up as her primal instincts of fight or flight began to kick in. Had she been introduced a different way perhaps she would have had better control of her composure but she was raw and off-guard, so, in other words, afraid.
The warmth against her was suddenly gone, as the young cat pulled away. She couldn't see the look upon her face, but she could smell the fear in the air. It was the same scent that had surrounded her when she was but a kit... How mothers pulled their kits away from her every time she tried to play, The scent cats gave off when the spoke of her father in whispered tones, the scent she herself released at the mere mention of her previous mentor... It was a scent that she thought coming to the regime with Duskslayer would have been put behind her. Yet here it was again....
One of her ear flickered backwards, crysteline blue eyes starting blankly into the darkness after the cat who had put so much trust in her just moments before. "Yes, I am Unseenlights" she answered after a moment. She wanted to say that she had nothing to fear, but she had feeling that no matter what words she uttered next it would be to late.
"You... you stay away from me!" Sapphira-tyke hissed, her voice positively feral, and she looked it, too, all fluffed up, claws unsheathed. Although she had no intention of actually attacking unless Unseenlights made a move toward her, she was ready to defend herself. Truly all she wanted to do was get away from this situation but she was too afraid to turn her back on the cat she now knew to be her blood enemy.
"I'm not going to let you kill me or any of my siblings just like Duskslayer killed my mama!" The silver she-cat spat and took a few more steps back, "I'm going to grow up and be the strongest cat in all of the forests! You just watch... I'll avenge Xuxa, I swear it!"

The hatred that swirled inside the young cat's heart made more sense now.... Her gaze feel down on the young cat, ears tipping downwards as sadness enveloped her own heart. Duskslayer had told her that he had kill xuxu... However, she didn't realize the she-cat had family here much less kits "I didn't know" she whispered feeling even worse, but she rose to her paws turning away from the the young she-cat not knowing what to say "No matter what you think of me... I won't hurt you" she meowed as began to leave
Sapphira-tyke hissed at Unseenlights as the other she-cat moved but her pelt smoothed slightly when she realized she was leaving. The she-cat didn't reply or make a single move until the black-furred she-cat was well out of sight. As soon as she felt safe, she wiped the tears out of her eyes and booked it back to Post Kilo. She wouldn't sleep a wink that night.
