Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The tone in her voice matched exactly how she felt- mildly exasperated, exhausted, and filled with existential dread. She didn't often sound like this, but she didn't always realize that she would be facing one of her three largest fears: her past. Her aunt had had minimal interaction with her her entire life, so why was it now that she wanted to come in and ... complicate things?
"It's urgent. We have...a visitor/ visitors." Avette wouldn't enter his space without explicit permission, but that wasn't so of the she-cat that stood next to her. Her twisted grin suggested a fearlessness of the whole situation. Now, this was unexpected. Joining MoonClan was entirely off brand for Shae, the cat who only tended to join groups long enough to vitally fudge something up. Last time, it had been with a deputy that was completely a figment of her own imagination. The brown tabby shifted her weight, her tail tip twitching in amusement.
"Now, come on, Avette. Don't be so crass, lovely. We both know I'm more than a visitor." She rubbed her tail across her niece's shoulder, which caused the archbishop to shudder. "Now, that isn't very nice. I come all this way to see you and this how you treat me. Such a shame Jynx never did teach you any manners."
Avette bristled slightly at the mention of her father's name, yet the Archbishop fought not to react more. She knew that Shae wanted a reaction, so she'd need to limit the amount of reaction possible. Yet, she couldn't help but know that she would be comforted at the presence of Levee. If nothing else, it would make Shae outnumbered/ make the duo out-numbered. That would make her feel a little better. Of course, she didn't think Shae would touch her - she knew enough of the creature to know that she didn't enjoy being on the giving end - but being in her presence made her nervous. Out of all cats who could play mind games with her, Shae was one of the only ones that could play the games well.
Normally when someone announced they had company, they told someone before the visitor in question showed up, or that's how Leviathan did things. He wasn't pleased to be greeted by three cats at his den, least of all Alastor, who technically hadn't broken any rules since the cardinal had taken over but the red tom did make him a bit wary, even though he was mostly harmless. "Yes, of course come in." He dipped his head politely in greeting, casting a lingering glance to Avette before turning his attention to Alastor and Shae. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Alastor stepped forward with Shae, he could practically feel the Archbishop squirming under the she-cat's touch, and it made him chuckle. "That's no way to treat your family sweetheart!" he laughed, earning a puzzled look from Levee who otherwise seemed completely unbothered by this whole exchange. Of course Shae had told him of her relationship to Avette, and upon hearing the news he couldn't help but suggest Shae join him in MoonClan. Her being in the clan would to be an invaluable source of entertainment in more ways than one. Just watching the she-cat's discomfort now had already told him he had made the right call.
"I didn't invite them, I'd like to make that clear," the archbishop grumbled, her ears twitching back slightly at the disapproval in his gaze. "This is absolutely not my fault." Her tail then trashed as she transfered her gaze to Shae, and then Alastair. "I have no family," she hissed to him, clearly shaken by whatever was going on. "Her name is-..." "I can introduce myself, darling girl," purred the she-cat as she made a grand gesture with her tail."My name is Shae, formally Heda Shae, and before that.... Well, no use in telling it all," she laughed lightly, before wrapping her tail around her niece's shoulder again. "I was coming here to see if it was true, if Miss Avette really had made something out of herself post... the incident," the corners of her eyes crinkled with a devious smile, "and what do you know? She really did. Luckily for me, and probably you, lamb chops, I found the hospitality here particularly... warm." She moved to press herself to Alastor's side, rubbing her cheek on him affectionately. "I'd like to join, if I may." She offered him a sickeningly sweet smile and a purr, looking far more innocent than she should ever look, which caused Avette to gag in the background.
Leviathan's gaze shifted slowly from Avette to Shae to Alastor has he contemplated the situation. Though he could sense his Archbishop's clear discomfort it wasn't his place to turn away cats who wanted to join his clan so long as they had no ill intent... He didn't know Shae from Adam but as far as he could tell she was joining for... love? It was hard to tell what was actually going on between his follower and this new comer but, he never considered Alastor to be any real threat, he mostly stayed out of the cardinal's way and that was enough for now. So long as they didn't become a problem he could handle this.
"You, may join us. If you are willing to give yourself over to Selene and abide by her teachings. I'm sure your... friend here can see to it that you understand them" he turned his attention briefly to Alastor, who was giving him that eerie wide toothy grin of his. He tore his amber gaze away turning back to Avette. "MoonClan needs strong blood to help us rebuild, having kinship in our members might do us some good."
It was clear that there was information Avette knew that he didn’t, and there was a reason she didn’t want that particular creature among her ranks. It pissed her off that he didn’t see that, or at least didn’t even ask her why she was uncomfortable. “You say that now,” she meowed, sounding a bit frustrated that the Cardinal was not listening to her. “You don’t know her. I do.” With that, she turned to her aunt, whose grin was ear to ear. “If you ever touch me again, I will make quick work of your corpse. There won’t be time for you to enjoy it. I hope I’m understood.” She then rose to her paws. Avette brought the creep to Leviathan. That had been all she had agreed to (and under conditions that were borderline blackmail). She didn’t need to be here any longer.
As her niece took off, her smile dropped for only a second. “Such harsh words and for what reason?” Her voice drifted slightly, although the feline knew quite well why the she cat was hesitant. Any cat who had been around a while would know how things seemed to fall apart in her wake. “But, I promise I mean no harm. I really don’t know what she’s talking about, but my niece hasn’t seen me in a while so maybe she’s mistaking me for one of the various terrible cats she’s seen.” She shifted her paws. “I’m more than willing to turn over to Sabrina! And I’m sure Alastor is quite the teacher,” she meowed with a purr.
