Her surroundings were growing familiar, but the muddy smell of this place gave her a headache. She never thought she would miss the rotting stench of the league's territory, but it was better than a place that reminded her of a giant frog. The cats that gave her dirty looks were met with an even gaze of superiority. Shiva was royal in her own right, born to the queen of evil, but unfortunately, the only royal status she held around here was given to her as basically hush money. The Acecoop did not let her discomfort, nor distaste, show past her steely silver eyes.
Shiva lifted her chin, watching the interactions of the cats around her. She was an owl among finches, it seemed. Things were painfully different here than in Primal Instinct. Cats spoke to one another in a tone that wasn't murderous. There were no spars going on. Everyone seemed .. content. It was so strange.
The procession of her reputation before her served her well. No one wanted to associate with the league cat -- or former league cat, rather. Especially the daughter of Vera E'tani. They likely assumed that she felt like she was on display, but it was they who were encased in glass. Time had begun to smooth things over, but following Bluepaw's .. sudden death, everyone was highly suspicious once more.
"So, you're little Miss Murder, are ya?" Toy's voice came from a high perch, her single remaining eye focused on the cat. "Or at least, that's what rumor says. I hear that the official report is that your mama sent a cat to kill Bluepaw for you. Not very much better if you ask me." She let out a low chuckle as she nodded a few times to herself, considering the thought. "You know, I don't blame ya, though. I give you kudos, really. You saw what you want and you took it. Or, someone took it. Whatever your story is."
The she-cat's city accent was thick, almost uncomfortably so. It marked her as an outsider, just like Shiva's pelt marked her as a cat who didn't quite belong. Of course, their origin stories were much different. Toy had been born as Toykit, daughter of Silentheart, sister of Springlockedkit. The road that led her to the city was one that she had long sense forgotten. Being in the city had sharpened her skills, though, far more than this group could ever. What she lacked in memory (the she-cat had suffered one too many blows to the head) was made up in skill. She hadn't become the queen of the city on her own.
The cat lept down next to the other, but not close enough that Shiva could swing at her. She didn't expect that the cat would attempt to kill a royal, although she hadn't thought that she would kill the other acecoop either, yet that was what rumor said. She was confident that she could take the league heir down with ease, if she was being honest with herself. Toy was a large cat, one who had learned to fight to kill. Yet, there was no desire for her to scrap with the acecoop, not unless Toy had to remind her of her place.

The acecoop hardly spared a glance in the royal's direction, although her opening remark did catch her attention. Nevertheless, Shiva did not immediately turn her head, whether out of haughtiness or simple disinterest, she did not ponder. Instead, she continued to monitor the landscape before her, her gaze analyzing every detail of the Haunted Brook. She tended to come here often, even outside of her training or to gather herbs, because she held a certain fascination with the legend.
It irritated her when living voices joined the quiet whispers.
At last, Shiva turned her head a fraction of the way to the right to acknowledge Toy's presence, but her eyes did not leave the brook. Shiva had never been a cat of many words, and coming to Brookclan made no exception.
"Whatever helps you sleep at night," she responded coolly, her voice holding a note of mystery. It was all she said, and not a syllable more.
"A lady of few words, eh?" she meowed, her single eye focused on the cat who was trained in medicine. There was a slight intrigue in her gaze, but there was still a part o her that didn't quite care. "Perhaps that's why the entire clan thinks you're bad news." Her nose twtiched in amusement at the idea. She probably had better things to do than harass the young cat, but she was used to doing not a lot productive. It had been this way since she returned to the remnants of BrookClan.
