"That's a good idea!" Echomelody called over her shoulder at Rainfrost before Creampuff spoke up. Echomelody turned toward the closest raspberry patch and saw three dogs circling the bush that the cats were hiding under. "There! Creampuff, remember, we are fanning out! It'll confuse the dogs!" The black and white warrior veered off, making a larger circle around the dogs who were too busy paying attention to Nightsky, Giantpaw, and Turbulentsea to notice the Nightclan warriors fanning out. Echomelody climbed a tree and balanced on a branch that was hanging over the dogs. This would be a good surprise attack. "Attack!" Echomelody called, launching from the branch and landing squarely on one of the dogs
The dog bucked and bronced but Echomelody held on. She clawed and bit at the dog as it growled and tried to shake her. "You leave my friends alone!" She yowled. After a while of the bucking dog, Echomelody was finally torn off of the dog. She flew through the air and landed in a bush. Luckily, the bush broke her fall and she emerged a moment later with sticks and leaves clinging to her pelt.
The large apprentice mumbled a thanks as Nightsky helped him scoot in a bit more. He held his breath as the dogs began circling the bush and let out again as he heard cats in the distance. His clanmates! Giantpaw felt relieved as they came flooding into the clearing. Echomelody's leap from the tree sparked the fight in him, and he looked over to Nightsky to ask, "Should we help them or stay here to protect Turbulentsea?"

Turbulentsea
NightClan Medicine Cat
The Conflicted
Turbulentsea had pressed himself close to the roots of the raspberry bush as he kept a tense watch on the dogs that were circling them. Of course they had to show up now and make a bad day even worse. He growled whenever they got close, but they seemed to still be searching for a weakness in the bushes to get to them. It was a standstill, both sides waiting for the other to make their move. However just as the rescue party arrived he suddenly felt teeth on his scruff as he was lifted into the air and through the sharp thorns of the bush by the largest of the dogs and away from the warrior and apprentice that had been protecting him. His thin skin gave way to the thorns, slicing him open and the large teeth dug into his scruff. The dog began to shake its head, turbulentsea was at it's mercy.
"No!" Echomelody stared in horror as Turbulentsea was lifted into the air and shook like a dog toy. The black and white she-cat selflessly launched herself at the dog that had Turbulentsea in his jaws, slicing at the dog's eyes and muzzle. "Let him go, you mangy mutt!"
In moments Creampuff had taken Flamingstar's pace barreling straight at the dog that held Turbulentseas. Creampuff dived forward, the wind rushing a step behind as she leapt up into the air. Her claws unsheathed and sliced into the dogs snout with a force that could be heard. Her claws bashed with such a trembling power into the snout that it made an audible crack coming either from the dog or her own paw from the impact. She didn't just slash at the dog she flung at it like her entire body was the weapon. The silly gaze that typically radiated in her amber eyes was gone, there was only pure and uttr focus consuming her eyes now.

Turbulentsea
NightClan Medicine Cat
The Conflicted
Turbulentsea was dropped the ground as a loud crack followed by yelps filled the air. The dog that had been holding him retreated into the distance, leaving the two other dogs for the NightClan cats to deal with. Upon seeing one of their own flee, they seemed more cautious and nervous, before finally fleeing themselves after a few more attacks from the warriors.
Even though he was slightly disoriented and dizzy from the shaking, the medicine cat seemed to have made it through with no major injuries. Blood seeped from his scruff and the wounds from the thorns, but they would all heal with a little time. None of them were life threatening, however he looked awful. The blood and the raspberry juice from his time in the bush mixing and making him look far more bloodied and bruised than he was. He forced himself to his feet, trying to get his bearings
(uhh..Faith? Flamingstar stayed in camp XD Echomelody attacked the dog that grabbed Turbulentsea lol!)
Echomelody stood there panting after the dogs retreated. They must've been house dogs if they gave up that quickly. The small black and white warrior rushed over to her medicine cat friend when she has finally caught her breath. "Turbulentsea. Are you harmed?" He looked dreadful but she couldn't tell how much of that was blood and how much was raspberry juice.
"Turbulentseas, what should I do?" Creampuff asked, her voice coming out desperate and pained as she watched him bleed. Instinctively all that she could think to do was to treat his wounds so she immediately began to lick at his scrapes and injuries. Panic was setting in as more blood pooled out, she had no idea what to do.
Pawsteps rapidly approached the group, Squirrelleap approaching the group of cats, he's scented the dog scent and had hurried over to investigate, the tabby tom's eyes widened as he took in the sight of Turbulentsea's injuries and Creampuff struggling to lap away the blood. "Don't try to lick away the blood we need to put pressure on his wounds," The tom said looking around trying to spot anything that could be of use to staunch the bleeding. There were no cobwebs around but he selected a simple oak leaf and placed it on one of Turbulentsea's wounds putting pressure on it to try and staunch the bleeding.
The tom was reeling. Everything had happened so quickly. He and Nightsky hadn't even been able to do anything as the dog had come from the other side of the bush, grabbing the medicine cat in the blink of an eye. Giantpaw felt helpless as he watched the tom get shaken violently and tried to yank himself free from the bush as Echomelody saved him. By the time he's gotten free, the dogs had been chased off. Giantpaw was ashamed that he hadn't been the one to help, and he stood off to the side quietly as Squirrelleap and Creampuff hovered.

Turbulentsea
NightClan Medicine Cat
The Conflicted
"I'm fine" he snapped pulling himself out of the crowd of cats that suddenly surrounded him. He wasn't used to being touched, much less the center of everyone's attention. He shook, sending small red droplets into the air but at least nothing major seemed wrong "Just some scrapes and bruises, nothing time won't heal" his words sounded harsh and cold, but what was hurt most was his pride.
He would probably be sore for a few days, especially his shoulders and scruff, but he would be alright. His yellow gaze scanned over the other cats for injuries, but he seemed to be the only one bleeding at the moment.
Creampuff gasped, which was typical of her over dramatic behavior, but it was followed by more gasping for air. She keeled over fast, her paws running down her throat in a clutching motion as her throat tightened up. She choked trying to gasp for her air, but her throat was closing up fast. Her eyes watered as she collapsed, her muzzle hitting the ground fully. Blood and raspberry were still wet against the crease of her lip from where she had been attempting to tend to Turbulentseas's wound.
Squirrelleap sighed the warrior intending to tell Creampuff off for being overdramatic, when his eyes narrowed as Creampuff clutched towards her throat. "What's wrong?" He asked eyes narrowing. "Why's she doing that?" He asked looking to Turbulentsea for an explanation and advice on what to do, none of his adopted kits ever did something like that.

Turbulentsea
NightClan Medicine Cat
The Conflicted
Turbulentsea had not paid any attention to her gasp as first, assuming that it had something to do with his condition. However, it soon became apparent that something was wrong, very wrong. He raced to her side, rolling her over on her side with groan as his injured shoulder's protested, tilting her head upwards. He could feel the tightness in her throat "She is having an allergic reaction" he commented, not looking up from his work as the other cats around them seemed to fade away. He had heard of this before, but had never treated one quite this extreme. He opened her mouth, swiping her mouth to clear it of any debris in case she was choking instead, but there was nothing visible. There was herbs that he could use to help reduce the reaction, but glancing up he knew that he wouldn't reach them in time "Get Ahava" he ordered
He tried to keep her airway clear, but he was fighting a loosing battle as her throat constricted in on itself. He could see her gums and tongue slowly turning purple as her body was deprived of the oxygen that it so desperately needed, her pulse fading. His paws pound on her chest to keep her heart beating "No" he uttered desperation entering into his voice, his shoulders screaming for him to stop "No, no" he repeated, his heart and mind raced "I won't loose you to"
His pace began to slow as his body gave way to the pain of his wounds, a tear slid down his cheek knowing that this would likely be his last moments to spend with her. She wasn't dead, but without the proper herbs there was nothing else her could do, and he last moments shouldn't be spent with him pounding away on her chest. He lowered his nose to hers "It should have been me, not you" He slowly lifted his head his throat tightening as he swallowed hard,
He stumbled backward, his paw lifting to his own throat as he struggled to breathe in
Echomelody noticed something was wrong immediately but before she could react, Turbulentsea was at her side. As soon as the medicine cat asked if someone could get Ahava, Echomelody wasted no time. She was the fastest in the group and she hared away, spraying up dust in her wake as she darted toward the Nightclan camp to fetch Ahava.
The black and white she-cat burst into the camp, wide eyed and panicky. "Ahava....come quick...Creampuff...allergic reaction..." Echomelody gasped, trying to catch her breath while also delivering the message.
Immediately, Flamingstar shot to her paws from her place at her throne. Her eyes widened in horror and concern for her daughter. The ginger leader wasted no time. Before anyone could say anything else, Flamingstar had disappeared up the winding path, leading out of camp.
Ahava was only a few steps behind. The moment she heard 'allergic' she turned, swiping anything and everything that came to mind as even remotely helpful, throwing it all onto a leaf which she pulled up into a hasty bundle, then bolted out. She didn't look worried, rather, the feline looked surprisingly calm, albeit hurried, the tall feline racing after the streak of red without a moment's hesitation.
Giantpaw was still standing out of the way, an expression of horror on his face. His clanmate was dying right in front of him! He went to run back to camp to retrieve Ahava, but Echomelody took off before he could even move. Why was he frozen to the spot? "What made her do that?" he wondered aloud, looking from cat to cat for some kind of explanation. It felt very unhelpful, but the apprentice couldn't think of anything else to say.
Despite Echomelody's endurance running low, she followed the medicine cat and the leader out of the cavern. She sped passed them to lead the way, knowing exactly where the patrol was located. They arrived at the scene only to see the rolls reversed. Confusion lit up in Echomelody's expression.
Flamingstar slowed to allow Echomelody to lead the way, concern and fear still shining in her eyes. Although Flamingstar wasnt known for her kindness, she feared for the life of her daughter. Flamingstar may not have birthed Creampuff but the leader never saw the young warrior any less of a daughter. When the dark ginger leader slowed to a stop at the scene, her gaze fell upon Creampuff who seemed to be recovering while Turbulentsea was clenching his throat. Anger pulsed through Flamingstar as she turned on Echomelody. "You told me Creampuff was having an allergic reaction! Do you have your cats mixed up?"
Echomelody submitted to Flamingstar's aggression, refusing to meet the leader's gaze as she flinched at the words spoken to her. She was more than sure Turbulentsea had told her to fetch the medicine cat and that Creampuff was choking but when she arrived back, things were reversed. It didn't make any sense. "I-Im sorry, Flamingstar..." Echomelody managed to spit out. "This doesn't make any sense...Turbulentsea told me to fetch the medicine cat because Creampuff was having an allergic e reaction..."
No, it didn't make any sense. Ahava's gaze slid over the scene as they arrived, and Creampuff really did seem well enough. Turbulentsea, however... She watched the felines for half a heartbeat, the red lines of their blood overlaying her vision. Perhaps the situation didn't have such a normal explanation.
For the moment, she stepped up to her mentor, setting about pulling herbs and checking to ensure Turbulentsea himself wasn't choking on anything. "Perhaps Turbulentsea misjudged something else that appeared to be an allergic reaction, or thought the reaction was worse than the actuality. Echomelody isn't a trained medicine cat, she couldn't have known if he was wrong, or had a reaction to something while we were gone." Ahava commented calmly, offering a shrug to Flamingstar. "In any case, it was wise for her to get us. Why don't you see if Creampuff is okay while I treat Turbulentsea's reaction?"
Now. Back to the task at paw. Ahava herself had never treated an allergic reaction before. She'd been told about them, but she suspected her mentor didn't expect to be the patient, nor did he tell her proper procedure for something that looked like it could very well be lethal. His throat was too swollen, she might be able to drip some fluid from the herbs in there, but that'd take a bit to take effect.
So, two options. Make a poultice and set it under his tongue, that would absorb quickly and help within a few minutes, quicker than ingestion, but still potentially a choking hazard. Or, make an incision and try to get the medicine in his bloodstream which would start working in seconds. Or both. Regardless she had to get to putting together the poultice. She only had so long before the damage from the reaction could leave lasting damage, even if the cause came under control.
Flamingstar stared at Ahava for a moment before reluctantly walking over to her daughter to make sure she was okay, leaving Echomelody to recollect herself. The ginger leader approached her daughter and began checking her over. "Are you hurt?" She asked.
Echomelody breathed a sigh of relief as Ahava corrected her leader for taking it out on her. When the leader obeyed and turned her back, the black and white she-cat relaxed. She gave Ahava a grateful look.
