Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Summersolstice sat on a rock that allowed her view of DayClan's territory and NightClan's territory. She wrapped her tail around her paws her eyes gazing out towards the two territories. She kicked a pebble letting out a sigh as she laid across the sun heated rock.
Her joining SunClan had been a comedy of errors and failures, taking her away from her clan in a dire time, and leaving her sister as... a placeholder really. Not entirely able to let go of her clan, but also not entirely able to be there. Missing Lindon and losing Kerrigan, and then having those kits with Driscal.
When she'd first joined SunClan she'd been bemused by the thought of it. The pride all bound with a connection to the Sun God. Except, it wasn't to last.
She should've realized that eventually Soaringstar would be overthrown. Should've realized it was foolish of her to stay away from NightClan for so long. Perhaps she had simply pushed herself too hard and too far and now here she was.
She still struggled to respond properly to her new name, always that half second of hesitation, and that bit of a pang that she wouldn't be called Burningstar or Burning-anything anymore. Because, she wasn't. Even Glowstar though she had her SunClan name, still would get called by her leader name, because she was still a leader.
Summersolstice was now a member of one clan. A good portion of her kits still lived in NightClan, and some cats were still loyal to her, as Turbulentsea had come to her aid during the NovaClan incident... but she was just a SunClan cat now.
She missed stalking around in the night time. Sure her blazing pelt looked like warm fire in the suns rays, but she missed hunting in the dark, enjoying the way the shadows clung to her. The sunset's that marked the beginning of a nights worth of duties for the clan. The stars shining brilliantly above.
She believed in the Sun God, she respected him, but even so she so longed for the night, and as the days grew hotter and hotter she missed the cool breeze of nighttime even more sorely.
The ginger she cat's ears lowered and she let out a sigh resting her head on her paws. She'd never intended to stay in SunClan forever, she'd truly wanted it to be more a sign of their unity. But now it was the only place to call home, her old throne taken by Flamingstar.
And she didn't even know if she wanted it back. She'd always struggled with feeling she wasn't a good leader. She wasn't the strongest of fighters, she was a decent diplomat but when put alongside the other leaders, she always felt she never quite measured up.
'And in the end I wound up simply getting displaced by being a mousebrain,' She thought bitterly. 'And now who am I? I'm not Burningstar, or Burningsky anymore, I'm Summersolstice. But who is she?'

The blind tom wandered SunClan's territory without direction. It was mere chance that the golden eyed cat had stumbled upon Summersolstice's particular presence, and even then, he likely wouldn't have noticed her at all if not for her scent brought to him on the wind. Nightshadeintuition hadn't particularly intended to speak with anyone, and yet, he found himself drawn to her for one reason or other, and soon, the ebony warrior was sitting almost at her side, head tilted back to stare up blankly at the endless void that encompassed his entire vision. She was quiet, and he wondered if the former NightClan leader had even noticed him, or if she was so lost in her own thoughts as to not yet realize she had company.
He supposed he should ask. "Heavy thoughts weighing on you?" Nightshadeintuition question simply.
Summersolstice blinked and turned, ears swiveling towards him. "Oh! Nightshadeintuition! Er..." She felt a bit sheepish having not realized he was there until he spoke up. "Afraid so unfortunately." She said. "Without the distraction of needing to keep kits in the nursery, I've been a bit, lost." She said with a sigh.
She looked out towards NightClan, "Seeing my niece with Flamingstar kind of hit home the fact that I've lost all real hold on NightClan. I mean, I knew Flamingstar had taken over of course, and I know Soaringstar is likely trying to pick herself up somewhere out there as well." She hadn't seen her sister's spirit yet, and with her sister having several lives now she should be okay. "But seeing Raspberrypaw... or Creampuff I guess is her name now, seeing her with Flamingstar at the execution kind of hammered home that NightClan isn't mine anymore. I... I can't even call it home anymore," She admitted ears flattening.
"I went into joining SunClan from the start intending to live with a paw in each clan. A sign of the pride's unity, but... I think i knew deep down I was burnt out on leading." Summersolstice went on. "So I let Soaringbird take over, knowing with her in charge it'd be easy for the Pride to stay on, and for me to keep my life with both... but now, now I realize what a mousebrain I was."
"I stopped being Burningstar the moment I let Soaringbird take over. I should've realized there was no going back after that." Summersolstice let out a huff. "Now I'm Summersolstice and i have no idea who that is. She's not leader of NightClan. She's not even a NightClan cat. She's just an awkward SunClan cat who prefers the evening patrols over the dawn patrols and has trouble getting up in the morning because she's used to sleeping all day."
