When The Huntress told him this, Tyler felt more confidence rise within himself. So the rouge was bluffing eh? Guess the city cat would have to learn a lesson. The black tom leaped into the air and before he knew it was ontop of the other tom. Clawing, biting, scratching, the ex kittypet was going to show them he was tougher than what he appeared.
Alexei tensed his muscles when he saw the Huntress whisper something to Tyler. She didn't care, did she? He was distracted enough that he didn't notice Tyler tense up and leap at him. Tyler knocked the wind out of Alexei as he hit the ground as claws teared at the rogue's fur. The pain did knock Alexei out of his thoughts. He kicked up with his hind legs into Tyler's stomach, giving the tom just enough space to slide out from underneath him.

At first the black cat felt so proud of himself, he landed a blow and hd the upper hand. He wasn't sure just how much damage he had done but Tyler felt pretty good until the tom got him from underneath. Lucky enough the rouge hadn't gotten deep enough to have given him deadly damage but none the less Tyler felt a stinging pain come from his underbelly. He wouldn't be surprised if there was a little bit of blood too...however it didn't bother him as much as he thought he would.
Quickly Tyler jumped back slightly out of claws reach from the other cat, calculating and trying to figure out where to strike next.
Alexei rolled onto his paws and felt the stinging around his body. None of his strikes were well targeted, but he had scrapes all over. It was worse. The humans had not yet planted their gardens, so is herb supply was lower than usual. He was riding the edge before a fight. Who knows where he'd be after this? His eyes glanced at the Huntress, who hardly moved since the fight started. What was her plan? His eyes shifted back to Tyler with fury in his eyes. "You get one free shot, kittypet. I won't just give you a few scrapes if you come at me again. I'll kill you. And whoever that is." He pointed to the Huntress. "Got it!?"

"Either way you'd kill me, be it I fight you or walk away. I've seen plenty of cats attack when the other retreats...only cowards do that." The black cat sounded with his statement and knew it could be real but if it happend often he was not sure. However Tyler wouldn't put it passed this cat to go after him if he ran. Feeling the fur along his spine poof up all the way he spat, "Here is my suggestion: leave and WE won't attack, that I'm sure of. Fight and you will not survive and you'll look like a pathetic fool to your friends." Never had this ex kirtypet been aggressive or say such things, let alone perhaps killing someone. All he wanted was a friend but he wasn't a fool enough to believe everyone was nice. Guess you got to do what you can to survive.
The Huntress couldn't help herself from laughing at the entire scene. Here there was a seasoned street cat, ambushed by a kittypet, and now listening to orders from a kittypet. He probably had been in countless skirmishes, but still couldn't predict Tyler's surprise attack. Now, Alexei just looked embarrassed at the whole thing. He should have been, and his gang would probably never accept him again.
Alexei glared at the she-cat, but took a few steps back. He lashed his tail. "Well, get out of here. I'll come back with help if I ever see you two again."

(Oh heck, I thought I had replied to this. My apologies >.<)
"That's fine with me then," still trying to keep his false brovado up Tyler flicked his tail as he walked past him. He continued to walk and hoped to get out of the tom's territory as soon as he could. The more distance between them the better. The black cat was curious what the Huntress thought about all of this.
The Huntress saw this all as entertainment. She knew they were never in any sort of real danger. Street cats like Alexei talked a big game, but never followed through unless they had a numbers advantage. "Not bad, but call a bluff when you see it with those types. With forest rogues, hold your ground, but don't be aggressive unless you need to be. The average forest rogue is more skilled than the city one."

"That's good to know, thank you for sharing your wisdom with me." The black cat still couldn't believe his luck, but from the sounds of it he got lucky that he dealt with an easy cat. Just how dangerous can a cat be? The more he was out here the more Tyler realized just how dangerous living out here was. If you had asked him a few weeks ago about doing something like this he would have no interest. Now he was out and actually living his life to its fullest...he had never felt so certain this was what he was meant to do. As long as he was careful and tried to stay alive that was. It seems though that The Huntress would at least help him a tiny bit at a time. He wasn't complaining though as anything was useful out here.

She shook her head. "Don't be thankful for me telling you this. Be thankful if you happen to remember before one of them guts you. They have fewer resources, and rarely form gangs. They don't take outsiders lightly." The Huntress had plenty of encounters with cats like herself, rogues. Her confidence was unmatched when it came to dealing with city cats, but she still treaded lightly when it came to their cousins in the forest. "If your unlucky, you'll be ambushed by a Clan patrol. You'll get off fine with some, others will give you something to remember them by."

So city cats were ones that could be dealt with...but clan cats...? "What are clan cats exactly and how bad are they compared to city cats? Are they smarter than them?" Maybe at some point he would bump into them and if he unlucky enough to do so wanted to be prepared for it. The tom wasn't foolish to believe he'd win every fight, and just got lucky this time. The Huntress was one heck of a smart she cat..which also made him wonder what she had all been through to be this good at survival.
"Clan cats are not much more skilled than the rogues. The danger from them comes with numbers. They live in large groups, and regularly patrol their territory in groups of four or five. If you see one, there are probably a few more waiting to see how you react to the lone cat. If you attack one of them, you'll find yourself outnumbered in moments." She had her share of encounters with them. The Huntress had even been one of them herself for a little while, but that part of her life had long since past. The lifestyle did not suit her, so she did her own thing.

The tom's eyes widened. "Five cats for just a patrol...just how big do these clans get?" In truth he always figured that six cats would be considered alot but if that was just for protection alone that would mean there would be a heck of a lot of cats and more than he could probably imagine. But with that in mind it also meant he had to be more cautious. After all they sounded dangerous and more likely be a threat rather than a friend. Tyler was learning so much all at once he was surprised he was retaining all the information as he was.
She chuckled. "Bigger than you'd think. There can easily be more than 40 in Clan. Some have had more than 80, but the numbers in each group waver. In any case, they're far bigger than anything we can come up with. You might be able to win a fight against a patrol, but then they'd return with twice the numbers. It's a losing battle." While the she-cat enjoyed fighting some losing battles, she never wanted to fight an endless one like that. Everyone only has so much stamina before they give out. "Most don't go looking for fights, but there are a few odd ones."

"I'll just try to keep away from the clans then as best as possible." With that number of cats all the tom could think of is how cramped they must be, and to him it sounded horrible. "I do have to say though its really nice to be out here. As a matter of fact...where are we going?" Once again it didn't occure to him to ask where they were going. Although He had only just met the The Huntress she had already taught him so much and felt like he could trust her.
She nodded about staying away from the clans. It was never a good idea to bother them, unless an opportunity presented itself. "Sure, but remember high risk comes with high reward." Dealings with the Clans were rare, but they sometimes yielded great results. She chuckled when he asked where the two were going. "We're going to the desert. It's north of here through a Clan, but that one lets outsiders pass through."

Hmmm...high risk comes high rewards? Tyler wasn't brave enough to try anything like that yet but who knew. Maybe one day he would be brave enough to try, but the thought alone worried him quite a bit. "That's a relief they will let us through...this maybe shocking but I've never been to the desert. I have heard about them though and know they can be warm. Even knowing it'll be a hot experience I'm ready to venture into it!" His eyes shone with new determination and curiosity. Oh the adventures that would await the two travelers!
She rolled her eyes. He was certainly a kittypet, through and through. She gave him at most a moon until he backed out. "Hmpf. You won't sound that confident tomorrow when you see it for this first time. It's harsh and unforgiving, but isolated. We want isolated." He didn't know half of who she was, and every step closer to the desert brought that frightening side of her closer to the light. "There's some space in a cave for you, but you'll have to clear out some scorpions, maybe a snake or two."

Scorpions? Snakes? Those sounded unpleasant to Tyler but just how bad could they be? The ex kittypet was used to isolation from his experience, so he could totally handle that...or at least he thought to himself. There was some trepidation to this new path that was infront of him, but the black cat wouldn't show it (or try to.) Nonchalantly he shrugged his shoulders," Sounds like a fair deal to me."
Did he even know what snakes and scorpions were? Few snakes could be found in the city boundaries, and even fewer scorpions, if any at all. She couldn't wait until the first time he would see them. "We'll see. Just know that I can't help you if you get poisoned, and some of these snakes are pretty gruesome. I'm hemorrhaging, blindness, suffocation, that kind of thing."
