Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
When Glowstar was your mother, there was no escape. You could be miles away living isolated on a mountain and she would find you. You could be imprisoned in the deepest darkest crypts and she would crash in through the darkness like an otherworldly creature. There was no force on earth, no destiny that could be made, and no magical charm that could have stopped this celebration. All of Glowstar's kits were there, which meant if they had kits their kits were there to also celebrate mothers day and some of their mates had come to. It was close to being a family reunion on account of everyone there. Under and Azura had been especially hard, but Under was hard every year as he was always traveling somewhere far or secluded. But Azura was an initiate in SunClan, however she was a senator in SunClan so it wasn't that complex to tell her they were leaving to celebrate mother's day, with the extra plus that in SunClan's code she had no choice, but to listen. Then there was Senescence who typically escaped from her grip, but on Mother's Day, forget it, there was no power that could save her from being with her mom today.
Glowstar let out a heavenly sigh as she finally sat down with all of her kits, "You know, some of you could make this easier on your mom by just willingly coming to visit me on Mother's Day." She said playfully, but looked a little melancholy, "All of you are growing up and moving further apart to follow your own path, as you should. So every year I take a little more pleasure in this day. I was hoping as an activity that we could head into the city and start some trouble? Unless anyone has other suggestions."
During his long walk back to the clans, he had entertained thoughts of ditching this celebration more than once, but he had always known he would end up here again. Under had not spoken to any of his family in many moons, barely interacted with any clan cats at all, but he would never escape his mother. Without a word as to where he'd been, the formidable tomcat had reappeared and sat silent before his family, inclining his head fractionally in mute greeting to each of the others as they arrived. His coat was less sleek than it had been during his leadership, and the dull edges had adopted a soft curl; he looked roughish and worn and yet the tiny change was enough to make him look far less than intimidating than ever before.
Not that his family would ever be intimidated by him; he often wondered if he was the only sane one. Under didn't recognize half of the new cats here, but he suspected he did not want to know them. Glowstar tended to surround herself by cats he would disapprove of. "Fine by me," he muttered grudgingly, clearing his throat before his response so they would feel his palpable reluctance. The ebony-and-ivory tomcat was making every attempt to show his disinterest in this meeting. Even after moons of having no reputation to defend, old habits died slowly.

No, of course there was no escaping Glowstar. Senescence generally did a pretty good job, bar going completely awol as Under tended to do, but Fia seemed to want her there as well, so it was rather futile to avoid it. Not that she hadn't tried anyway. As such, the she-cat laid in perhaps the furthest shadowy corner she could find, her expression as bored as ever. She did lazily glance at her usually absent brother however. "You get any supernatural abilities while you were away, or was that only Luc and I?" She questioned, though she hardly seemed to care for the answer.
Fang, naturally, hadn't even tried to avoid it. And Kaisra, well, she wasn't really sure about going, but Dusky and Cinnamon would be here... so she hadn't really made a fuss over it, though she didn't look the most comfortable. Besides, that meant she could bring her own kit. Arei-tyke, of course, was peeking around with dangerous intent, mischief flickering in her amber eyes.
Fia, naturally, wouldn't miss this for the world. She had, of course, dragged Goldenphantom along, as well as their kits.
Agamede was a rather.. odd, cat to be present. Not so much because she didn't belong, she was Senescence's daughter as well, but mostly because she was never really, involved? She was the Proxy's kit, but Sen certainly didn't seem to talk about her, except perhaps mentioning her doing something in passing, so it seemed. Though maybe she liked it that way.
Despite being one of Fia and Goldenphantom's kits, Divinekit actually sat herself closer to her great grandmother Senescence. Her short, shimmery pelt seemed to repel the shadows that the other she-cat attracted. A little ray of sunshine. Her expression was missing the grin to really elevate that princess aura she was giving off, though. She looked either dreamy or scheming.
"Happy Mother's Day, Glowstar." She said with a little bow, perhaps the first cat to say it so far, she hadn't even offered the greeting to her own mothers yet but they didn't appear to care for it as much as the DayClan leader. She liked to play to her audience, "Going to the city sounds like fun."
Voidedmemories wrapped her tail around her paws, tapping it lightly as she watched. She had been distant lately, speaking less and less by the day. At this point, she had resigned to simply watching the group, head tilted ever so slightly in curiosity.
He sent his sister a short, annoyed look. "Of course not," he replied coolly. Senescence was usually the least objectionable of his siblings, and it irked him that even she was beginning to tease him. Noting the kit sitting at her paws, he suspected the little ones were softening her. He'd never been able to spend time with his own offspring, but he doubted they could have the same effect on him.
"I'm glad you all came! Because I have some news before we hit the road. I've decided to get engaged with Foxbane and Funk E'tan. So... What do you all think about that?" Glowstar asked warily.
Truthfully, she was still on the fence about the entire idea of marrying both of them, as well as what kind of precedent that was setting to her kits. But for as logical as she was she realized that love really had little room for logic. If it was love than that was all there was to it and she did love both of them, but she had some rules in place. This was not going to be a toxic relationship and if it became one she would leave them. That and if they ever messed with her kits they better hope the worst thing that happens to them was her leaving them. Of course the toxic relationship part would take some effort to break since Foxbane and her "played" a bit rough so their definition of what being toxic was stretched miles longer.
One could smell Azura long before she could be seen. A coating of poultices coated her fur, covering a myriad of cuts and lesions. None of them were particuarly deep, but she was practically covered from head to tail. Even as she walked some of them reopened and bled, but there was nothing to be done about that with Glowstar commandeering her for the day. Her earthy optics scanned the gathering crowd. She recognized most of them, so far but not Voidedmemories. She shrugged it off and turned back to Glowstar.
She growled under her breath at Foxbane's name, but she didn't want to raise any issues, at least with everyone else present. She had her issues with SunClan, and Glowstar was well aware of them.
"I thought we hated Foxbane?" Divinekit meowed, cocking her darling little head ever so slightly to the right. She'd heard the horror stories of how Foxbane killed anyone who so much as looked at her funny. Most cats in DayClan held great animosity toward all of SunClan because of that single she-cat's actions. So then, why would Glowstar get engaged with a cat like that? Funk wasn't much better, being leader to the most unruly revolutionary group of them all, but at least he'd never committed genocide against DayClan. Divinekit flicked her tail-tip a single time. She was getting ahead of herself, she didn't have enough information to make any really conclusions yet. The ginger-and-white she-kit didn't even fully understand the concept of engagement but based on context clues it must be some kind of alliance.
"And that is completely rational and true, Divinekit. I always thought you could put logic in love and in some ways you can. Foxbane is a cruel and sadistic cat, but in marriage I'm looking for a healthy and fulfilling relationship. If we can't find that then I will break apart from her. But the feeling I have in my heart, even though I know deep down how insane she's been. That will never change, no matter how wise I get," Glowstar said. Of course, her healthy and fulfilling relationship was more of the traditional Primal Instinct kind. Killing sprees, betraying one another in heists, kidnapping the other for a romantic getaway, were all absolutely fair to play.
She pressed Divinekit up close to her, "But between you and me, I hope you find a nice cat that doesn't drag you through hell. If you love someone and they hurt you, you promise me that you'll run even if it makes your heart fall apart. I love Foxbane, but I never stayed anywhere close to her when she hurt me or my family."
Fairytalekit traced his paw over the dirt, "So if we have three grandparents then we can get even more presents right?" He asked with a cheeky grin.
"Okay...," Divinekit stiffened slightly when Glowstar embraced her. She wasn't a big fan on physical affections, not even when she saw other cats do it, but she wasn't about to make a scene. It was just... awkward. Uncomfortable. The moment her great great grandmother's grip weakened she pulled herself away and gave her shoulder a couple quick licks. What were they talking about again? Oh, marriage.
"I don't think marriage is a way to fix someone who is broken. You be careful too, Glowma." She said simply then gave up on the topic and padded over to Fairytalekit, "Hey, maybe we will! But we are moving to the apprentice's den soon, if we get any more I don't think there will be any room. Maybe you'll be okay since you're going to be the medicine cat apprentice. I think that means you get a whole nest to yourself."
(I'm still working on her character but really wanted to hop in on this thread <3)
"Apologies for my tardiness." Approaching the group was a she-cat that could perhaps be best described as noir. Cloaked in black pinstripes with a silverpointe base, where most cats were pink she was black or gray, giving her a corpse-like quality. Eerie, but enchanting. At least she lived up to the reputation of her adoptive family. At her side - and in stark contrast to her stormy appearance - hoped a golden bunny who looked just like a pillowy cloud pulled out of sunny skies. The prey animal was the size of a cat and showed no hesitation as it approached the group of predators.
"Agamede, you should have told me you were coming," Indeed, her sister's attendance was really the only reason she showed up at all. Circe loved her family but didn't feel the need to celebrate it in events such as this; however, if an untraceable she-cat like Agamede was going to show, she knew she aught to make the effort. Her delay had been in collecting her gifts last minute, which she assumed all cats would bring, although now she realized that was not the case. It brought a grin to her face to see the rest of her family fail at such a rudimentary expression of admiration. It made her feel a lot better about being late.
Circe turned her startling hawk-yellow eyes to the rabbit and chirped at him; in response, he hopped forward and dropped a small bundle, wrapped in satin, in front of Senescence. He looked back to Circe who then motioned toward Glowstar, "I'm sorry I couldn't wrap your present, Glowstar. He is a true angora and quite docile. He will make a great companion or bed liner, whichever you prefer."
Under had enough of the supernatural. The white cats had hassled him thorough his entire leadership until he had chosen to leave the clan entire, hoping they would all be slaughtered, though unfortunately, that had not yet happened. He'd heard tales of the gods around these parts and he wanted nothing to do with them. Seeing some cat come strolling up to him, completely unaffected by the golden demon entity trailing her paw, was more than he wanted to handle.
The mostly-black tom stood up abruptly and pinned his mother under his baleful gaze. "You're making yet another dumb mistake," he told his mother flatly, never one to soften his opinion. "But don't let me stop you." Under turned sharply to leave, his tail lashing as he left the crowd. There were more than enough cats here for the birthday, they did not need him there.
Toms bended for her, not the other way around, and Under was as unpliable as they came. Circle stroked the rabbit's smooth coat and smirked at the tom but said nothing.
"What's the mistake?" Magic had always been a part of Divinekit's life, so much so that she had a hard time imaging the world without it. She was no elemental but she knew Pandora, Bluejay and Everlastingfire, heard stories of the Sun God, the Moon Goddess, and those deities were just a tip of the ice burg. Her grandmother Sen, her great uncle Luc, the list went on and on. She frowned. The ginger-and-white she-kit had been excited to hear Under's stories and took his abandonment perhaps a little too personally, even though common sense told her it had something to do with Circe.
"She's not broken," Glowstar said with leisurely confidence. She used to think that Foxbane was a broken person, but it wasn't until Foxbane forced her back into SunClan a second time that she realized she was really just lost. When a persons broken they could find new pieces to make them feel whole. But someone who was lost for so long they forgot what they were looking for, those kinds were dangerous. She hoped that Foxbane felt she found somewhere when she was with her, that she could always be Foxbane's home.
"A RABBIT!" Glowstar exclaimed, her eyes practically had hearts popping out of them, "I LOVE it!"
She nuzzled the rabbit lovingly before looking back up at Under, "Aww, you do care. Foxy's no mistake though, I love her for the hell she puts me through and the wonderful chaos that follows. It's selfish, but I think there is something innately selfish about every love story. You have to want someone for yourself. But because it is selfish that's why I wanted to ask all of you how you felt. I didn't want someone who makes any of you feel incredibly uncomfortable or fearful to enter our family. I'm glad you're all willing to either tolerate her or give her a chance."
"Oh, were you talking about the engagement? I think you, Foxbane and Funk E'tan make a handsome trupple," Circe purred as she sat down next to Sen, wrapping her tail around her paws. It was no surprise that she was supportive, of course, the she-cat was raised in the League and had seen - and done - more crazier things than this, "Do you have a wedding date yet?"
