It was rare that Leviathan ever woke before dark but, even he had to admit the various shades of purple that painted the sky at twilight were breathtaking. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes alternating the paws he used as he made his way out of his den. He doubted any of his followers would be awake, not that he could hold it against them. He himself wasn’t even awake yet, though that was nothing an evening walk wouldn’t fix, though perhaps this would be a good time to organize the dusk patrol? It almost didn’t feel right waking anyone this early so instead he decided to linger for a few moments to see if anyone was already waking up.

Rhiannon still enjoyed the last rays of daylight. She knew that technically, it wasn't really normal–MoonClan cats had their own routines and it had been almost a moon since she had joined, she was quite used to it now–but still, it was just...a habit. She knew Hywel did his own thing too; he'd always wake up a little earlier or stay up a little later to see the sunrise, but despite the two of them doing the same thing, they preferred to do this on their own most days. After all, they spent most of their waking moments together, this was one of the few times she could truly just be on her own. She could tell he shared the same sentiment at least. They were two peas in a pod but even peas couldn't be on their own together forever.
Still, there were times when she'd spot him and they'd take their walks together. It was rare to see anyone else awake, so when she spotted a silhouette in the distance, lingering by the entrance of the camp. A small smile appeared on her face, her expression relaxed. "You know, if you wanted to take a walk together, you could've just woke me up Hy–"
Oh. Wait. It wasn't her brother? She stopped in her tracks, blinking for a few moments. Leviathan. She could recognize him by the splashes of black on his face. Of course, she had never quite talked to their leader though.
"I'm sorry," she spoke, her voice sounding almost uncertain, though her expression remained neutral, "I thought you were my brother."
He must of been more out of it than he had thought. Leviathan hadn't seen the she-cat approach and that made him mildly worried, he didn't think he'd been missing much sleep, but with his favorite bishop off doing his job, well... The Cardinal had been finding it harder to rest in his empty nest, though he would never admit that was the issue... He turned his face away from Rhiannon as his jaws parted in a massive yawn. Blinking a few times he turned back to her looking apologetic.
"Sorry about that, and there's no need to apologize mistakes happen." Since Levee had taken over leadership of MoonClan more and more outsiders had been finding their way to the clan, it was a lot but, he still made a point to try to get to know all of them. "I'm actually waiting to start the dusk patrol if you would like to join me?"

Rhiannon blinked, before giving the tom a small smile. Right. Dusk patrol; she had only been on a patrol once or twice, and frankly, she was still getting used to it. There were just so many things to learn with the clan and she was still catching up. Maybe it would be mildly intimidating, to go on a patrol with just the leader himself–she didn't know the clans but the other gangs of cats she had met along the way had their own hierarchy too–but she was Rhiannon, and Rhiannon wasn't a cat who frightened easily.
"Sure," she nodded, "which border are we heading out to? Or are we hunting for the evening?" She could recall a faint map of the territory in memorable trees and rocks that signposted the way around, but it still took some effort to remember where exactly their land ended and the others' began.
"Ah, well that's the easy part." He murmured, his usually smirk gracing his lips for the first time since he woke up. "You see, NightClan, our northern neighbors, are the only ones we truly share a border with." His tone was calm, he held nothing against the outsiders who had flocked to his clan recently, he couldn't fault them for not knowing the territory yet, He had welcomed them openly into his clan as Selene would have wanted, and so the task of teaching them everything they needed to know fell to him.
He rose to his paws and headed out of the camp flicking his tail behind him, not necessarily beckoning her it was just something he did without much forethought. "You see the other forest clans are cut off from us by the river. The southern border is a bit trickier however, it marked the end of a stretch of unclaimed territory between us an Primal Instinct well, everything on the west does I suppose so we have to be very observant for non clan cats more than anything."

Right, of course. She wasn't all too familiar with the borders yet, but the river, she could remember. They had followed the river for quite a while when trying to find a way past the mountains on their way down. She gave the tom a nod at his words, listening carefully. Better to sit quietly and learn than to bring too much attention to herself; after all, there was already enough about her in general that made others uncomfortable–she was an outsider, she didn't speak of her origins, she came from a land with a different religion–she didn't need anything to add to the list, at least, not yet.
"I suppose that means we're well protected," she offered, her tail swaying from one side to the other. "I haven't been here long enough but...do we usually get trouble from the other clans? I've heard things about them but...haven't really met any of them yet."
"That makes two of us." he spoke calmly, his tone not giving any indication of how he felt about it. Like most of the clan these days he was also an outsider, so it was only natural for him to take in all the outsiders willing to open up their hearts to Selene. "Oh, my apologies." he said suddenly stopping not too far from the camp's entrance. "I didn't ask, did you want to wait for your brother or are you okay to proceed without him?"

Rhiannon had quickly fallen into step with the tom's pace, her tail raised in a natural curiosity, ears perked and alert. It was a surprise really, the other cat's words. So he was an outsider once too? Huh, well that was a surprise. Maybe she shouldn't have been; after all, he had easily allowed outsiders like herself into this group, despite their differences. Few would react the same, Rhiannon knew; cats around these parts were well protective of their own kind. They had to be to survive.
She glanced up at his inquiry. "Oh, Hywel?" she spoke, a small chuckle leaving her mouth, "he'll survive without me. Honestly, if you invited him with us, he'd spend the whole time lecturing me on everything under the book, so it's probably a good thing he's not here."
