Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The roar of the waterfall was deafening. At least it was when one was standing next to it, as Levee was. It took all of his self control to keep his fur laying flat. The Cardinal had never been fond of water, and this waterfall was no exception. Maybe that's why Selene had chosen to show Avette over him. For that he couldn't be upset, he would of blindly followed his goddess to the ends of the earth but, crossing water even for her gave him pause. He could already feel the icy chill seeping into his pelt. Felt the burn in his nose and chest as he struggled to breathe. Squeezing his eyes shut he took a deep breath and opened them again. More collected than he had been a moment prior he turned to look at the gray and white she-cat. "You're sure this is the place?"
"I had similar reservations," the feline meowed as she faced the waterfall. Nothing could fully brace her for the jolt of cold water that would be required of her to re-enter the temple. "I promise, though, that this is the place. If there ever was a time to trust me, this is it." She winced slightly at her own words, not because they were untrue, but because they were close to home. She shifted her weight, before letting out a sigh. It was now or never, it seemed. he had a feeling that Levee would be much more willing to make the jump after she did. She knew that he was dedicated enough to Selene that eventually he would take the jump eventually, but she felt that he could use a little prod. Here goes nothing, she thought, before plunging herself into the cold waterfall, trying as quickly as possible to get to the other side.
Levee frowned watching the she-cat disappear beyond the wall of water, that was the problem, he did trust her. Though he did find solace in the fact that Avette wasn't too keen on the location either, and the fact that she had already been there and back once did nothing if not prove that whatever was on the other side was not lethal. Still for several heartbeats he couldn't bring himself to move, looking for a strip of land that lead behind the waterfall but there was nothing. I'm trusting you not to kill me. he prayed silently to the moon before launching himself through the waterfall.
He would of cried out in shock at the bone chilling icy sting of the water if the shock of it hadn't of killed the scream in his throat and initially took his breath away. He shivered violently once before quickly shaking out his fur, if he was grateful of one thing it was oddly warm air that filled the cave. "That was.... brisk." he murmured once he managed to catch his breath, only to have it stolen from him once more as he looked around at the cave itself.
"It's a real pleasure, isn't it?" Her tone was somewhat sardonic; there was absolutely nothing pleasureful about jumping through a waterfall when it was still only new leaf. Perhaps it would get better when the weather got warmer, but she deeply doubted it. Although the days might get warmer, the muggy nights wouldn't make the water bathwater temperature, so she'd probably just have to get used to making the jump and feeling her blood temporarily freeze in her veins. "I'd say it gets better the second time, but, well, that would be a lie." She offered him a small smile before shaking her fur out slightly. The water was absorbed in her thick, longer furs, and it would probably be a few hours before she dried. Figures, she had just dried off from her first endeavor.
Her eyes adjusted to the cavern around her. It was only her second time here, and her fascination with the place was evident still. Her tail tip twitched as she looked around, the awe never leaving her gaze. "It's incredible in here," she murmured, more to herself than to the Cardinal. She shivered slightly, before glancing back to Levee. "I don't know why she showed this place to me," she mewed frankly. It didn't make sense to her, "out of all cats at least. But, it's absolutely gorgeous, if you ask me."
