Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Lilacpaw was an Imperial, or more accurately, temporarily an Imperial class. All apprentices were assigned a class at random and then judged and assigned a permanent class once they were made a warrior. Lilacpaw, however took full advantage of all the perks in her class including bossing around cats older than her and even higher ranking superiors who were low class. Today though she wasn't intentionally seeking out trouble, her other fellow apprentices and parents were right, she should tone down her authoritative behavior. However prey was getting and it was a bit late for an apprentice like herself to go out alone so it only made sense to order someone to get prey.
"Spiderbranch," Lilacpaw said approaching the tom. She had orange and white tabby fur with generic green eyes that you could find on a million other DayClan cats, but she stood out a bit more due to her tail. Her tail curled up like a shiba-inus tail would and held a bit more fluff than the average feline would only in the tail, "I'm assigning you to go out to Sweet Sable Woods and fetch at least two pieces of prey. We're low and while the skies getting darker, it's still a little too early to be this low on prey."
Spiderbranch had been enjoying a bath, cleaning his short fur when this apprentice interrupted his leisure time. While he was getting old and enjoyed more and more leisure time, clearly he wasn't going to enjoy it now. "Is it? Dinner is over, and most cats have eaten by now. Are you merely wishing for a before bedtime snack?" His tone was a mix between grumpy and tired. The tom truly didn't wish to get up and was hoping the younger cat would see reason. If it was too late for her to be out, then why should he be out?
"Do not patronize me," Lilacpaw said pointedly, "I am Windchaser The Swift and Illuminatedpath The Pure Hearted's daughter. I'm Imperial now and I'll be Imperial when I graduate so don't think for a moment you can talk down to me because I'll be some ordinary Peacekeeper when the Ceremonies come. Now go fetch me some prey so the clan can have more to eat, now, Maverick class."
Spiderbranch was Reling but ended up moving to do as commanded. He didn’t choose wisely though as he selected the first bit of prey he spotted, nothing large or meaty. But the smallest shrew in the pile. It was due to carelessness and a desire to get the take over with more than anything. Dropping it at her paws and turning to walk away and hopefully have some peace and quiet, “here ya go, squirt.”
Lilacpaw scoffed in disgust, "You must be joking," But even as she said she knew the tom wasn't. "Since you won't take your class seriously, I won't take mine either." She said evenly.
"Suncuddler, come here," She commanded. There must have been eyes on the back of her head, she hadn't even looked behind her to see that the Bright Brigade member was there. The apprentice turned back to Spiderbranch before saying lowly, "Take a good look at her Spiderbranch, that's your new mate. But Lilacpaw, Forsaken's can't have mates. That's right, but I'm commanding you to do just that and if you two have kits... They'll be mine."
She smiled back in Suncuddler's direction like she had spoken nothing to Spiderbranch, waiting for her to walk over to them.
Suncuddler scowled, but drifted over to Lilacpaw, a sort of smile on her face that was too innocent and dangerously so. "Then you'll never have any kits." The she-cat said sweetly, slowly blinking baby blues. She didn't argue, there was no point in it. If nothing else, Lilacpaw would go around touting them as mates. But she hadn't been given her name for no reason. She was a spy for SunClan, and chances were she'd run to the clan the moment she found out about any pregnancies. It's where her first litter resided, after all.
Spiderbranch just cursed himself for his luck. The day couldn't get any worse. He was old, too old to be a dad and he was sure with the attitude that Liliacpaw had, she'd be demanding them to have a litter of little ones. God, he wasn't looking forward to that. Why couldn't he be like an actual spider and just die when his mate wanted kits, or in this case when Lilaicpaw wanted kits? Just what was he supposed to do now? Follow through with this marriage? Not like he had a choice though. Maverick class cats didn't have much of a choice when around someone of higher rank.
"Oh good! You overheard that you're mates now. Aren't you lucky though? You're a Forsaken, you would have never been allowed to have a mate without my interference," Lilacpaw boasted.
Looking between the two she let out a heavenly sigh, "Ah, I love setting up perfect couple, makes my heart soar. Oh and last command for both of you this time. Don't tell a word of this arrangement to anyone. If anyone asks I merely approved of you two being together, I didn't set you up. I'm modest like that, I don't enjoy taking the credit," She purred, fanning herself with her paw before scrunching her nose, "What am I thinking? Spiderbranch. Fan me with your tail would you? It's hot out."
